I arrived at the house and it was explained that the day before they were cleaning out the garden and there was a small spot in the backyard, a garbage can, and some fabric pots where the ring could most likely be located. I checked the yard area first with no luck. The next likely place was to be the garbage can so I dumped out the can full of tomatoes and plants…no luck! I cleaned up the yard and started to check the fabric pots. I got a faint sound, but enough to make me investigate further. Using my pinpointer I located the ring about halfway down in the pot. David was elated to have his ring back and I was all to happy to be able to have recovered it. As always – it was a great pleasure to meet kind and generous people like David and his wife, and the cherry on top was being able to return his ring!

I received a text from Arthur that he had lost his grandfather’s ring in his neighbor’s backyard. In talking to Arthur it was on a tray that he dumped, forgetting it was on there. He heard it hit the chain link fence separating the yards and spent hours in vain looking, unable to find it. The ring was very special (as most are) with the story of this one having belonged to his grandfather who served in World War II and then continued serving in the NYPD. The ring was from his grandfather’s time in the NYPD.

I arrived at the house and met Arthur who showed me the search area. Pretty standard, however, the chain link fence of course could pose a challenge. My thought was it was directly under the fence and would be very difficult to locate. I searched with my large coil first, then switched to my smaller one to get closer to the fence. It took me about an hour, but I located the ring a short distance from fence next to a large pine tree. The pine needles provided the perfect hiding place.

Arthur was elated to have his ring back as his face lit up with a great big smile. The ring was a large gold ring and was inscribed Captain, a tribute to the rank of Arthur’s Grandfather at the time of his retirement I would assume. There was a little bit of added pressure trying to find and return this hero’s ring to his grandson and I am glad to have been able to do so. It is always a blessing to meet kind and generous people like Arthur and a pleasure to have been able to find and return his ring!!

I received a call from Blaize that he lost his wedding band while he was working. Blaize has a lawn care business and was emptying a bagger when his ring fell off. Luckily it was in a private location as I was out of town and needed a few days to assist him.

Upon arrival Blaize showed me where he had lost the ring. He had rented a metal detector and had a co-worker help him search, but they could not locate it. As Blaize was completing the search contract I hurried to get started, he had a meeting and I did not want to hold him up. I fired up the old Garrett AT PRO with my large coil, ground balanced and BOOM first couple of swings it was right there. I quickly uncovered the ring from under the grass and turned around as Blaise was just walking down through the yard, a few moments more and I could have saved him the walk.

Blaise was very grateful and generous. While it was where he had dumped the clippings it was not where he thought it would be in the pile. This was one of my fastest if not the fastest recovery and it got me up to double digits (10) as well! It was a pleasure to meet Blaise and help him out…and by the way…the yard I was looking in looked great and he is a nice guy so look him up…Blaizin Bladez Lawn Care!

– Never found and gave back a ring that I did not receive a smile in return!

I received a text from a client who lost his silver wedding ring in his backyard. With all the inclement weather his gutters were full and needed cleaned out. He was cleaning his gutters out from on the roof of the back porch and when he discarded some of the debris and his wedding ring fell off and landed on a steep hillside in the backyard. I arrived and started my search and a short time later I located the silver wedding band and Josh  had it back in no time.
