Lost Gold Wedding Band at Kualoa Regional Park…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I received a text from Michael who was visiting Oahu from Kansas City, Missouri. Working as a Government Contractor for the US Army he had some free time to visit Kualoa Regional Park before Hurricane Lane assaults the islands. While he was walking near the waters edge he stumbled and to break his fall he put his hands down in the water that was full of coral & sand. At that moment his Gold Wedding Band came off and disappeared. He immediately and for the next hour searched in vain for his ring in the 1-2 feet of water. His eyes were burning rom the salt water and he eventually gave up. He called his wife to tell her the bad news but she was very comforting and said just get another one. It was too sentimental so Michael did a google search and found theringfinders. I called Michael that evening and with Hurricane Lane bearing down on the island we decided to meet the next morning at 6am at the Park. When we arrived the gate was locked and wouldn’t be opened until 7am. We decided to park along the street and walk into the park. Michael took me to the spot where he stumbled and at low tide the water was barely ankle deep. I fired up the Excalibur and 5 seconds later « BOOM » super loud target. This place is full of fishing lead so I thought I was going to be detecting for awhile. As I scooped the target and lifted it out of the water I could see a gold ring glinting in the rising sunlight. Whoa! That was some good luck. It was Michael’s ring and also in the scoop was a 1 inch by 4 inch piece of copper roofing material. That was the « Boom » only the ring was in the same spot. Michael was very grateful and we shook hands and bid each other safety from the oncoming storm. Aloha to Michael!

Lost Diamonds & Gold Wedding Band at Hilton Hawaiian Village…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Gabrielle who was on her honeymoon from Ohio. While relaxing on the beach at the Hilton Hawaiian Village she took her engagement and wedding rings off and placed them on a towel on her lap. After a period of time she got up and not remembering the rings were in her lap they fell into the sand. The engagement ring was easily spotted but the wedding band was gone. She googled losing a ring and got Dave Sheldon on Maui who told her to look up « theringfinders » and that’s how she found me. I told her I was just getting off work and could grab my Equinox and head down to the beach in about 45 minutes. When I arrived her husband took me down to the area of the beach they were lounging at. I asked to move the aluminum beach chairs then fired up the Equinox and started a grid search. It wasn’t but ten seconds I got a #7 on the Nox and two scoops down was Gabrielle’s ring. It was directly under the chair and someone must’ve stepped on the ring to push it that deep. Quick recovery and honeymoon restored to bliss. Hugs & handshakes. Aloha to Gabrielle and her husband!

LOST DIAMOND RING FOUND WAIKIKI

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This all started when Lana gave me a call early August 8th  and asked if i would help look for her wedding ring which she lost in the water almost a week and a half ago. I let her know that I will do my best and give it a shot. Knowing that Waikiki is a detectors favorite and its been over a week I needed to get down there ASAP and bring along with me help. So, I asked my dad if he would be willing to help and as always… Dad said yes and we were out to Waikiki that very morning. After 4 and 1/2 hours my dad and I came up short. NO ring! We went home knowing we gave it a good scan but there was some variables like tide and there were a lot of people in the water. So, The very next morning I get a gut feeling to go back and look. I drive back out to Waikiki and start looking again. After 45 minutes I get a faint sound and decide to dig it. I dig a big scoop of sand out and toss it on the sea floor and run my coil over the hole. BOOM I get a louder tone and it sounds like gold. A few more digs and I run my coil over the gaping hole in the ocean bed in which i don’t hear anything. So, I run my coil over the mounds of sand that has been removed and BOOM its there. I scoop and whats inside my scoop is a huge size 11 14K White gold with diamonds and a center 2 karat diamond in the middle. I knew I found her ring. As i am on my way back to the shoreline to rinse off I see Hawaii News Now setup by the showers and I ask them if the lady from yesterday is ok? The exchange words and then Billy V from hawaii news now asked the question… Did you find her ring? i said YES! He asked to see it and if it would be ok to let hawaii News Now run a short story about this event. I said yes and the lights went on and then came ACTION! We were able to call Lana and film the good news of HOPE and ALOHA. Well this was definitely GOD orchestrated and the saying is true… ALOHA  IS ALIVE.

Lost Gold Cartier Love Ring at Four Seasons Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began 9 July 2018 when I got a call from Jeffrey who was on vacation from Los Angeles and was staying at the Four Seasons Hotel. While his daughter was paddle boarding in the lagoon her gold Cartier Love ring slipped off into 8-10 feet of water and disappeared. Jeffrey was able to find me through the concierge desk. Unfortunately my first attempt didn’t locate the ring and then I got a cold and wasn’t able to scuba for several days. Finally on Friday the 27th I was clear enough to go on scuba. This time I lined up the photo Jeffrey sent me of his daughter on the paddle board moments before the ring fell off. I lined up the tallest palm tree with the far right edge of the Four Seasons Hotel and submerged to drop my grid line. I use a bright orange plastic rope 75 feet long weighted on both ends to set my grid line underwater. I sweep the detector down both sides of the line then move the rope in the direction I believe the ring would be. On the first pass I got a nice tone but it turned out to be a Tungsten Wedding Band so I continued on. On the third leg I got another nice tone and sure enough when I fanned the sand Jeffrey’s daughter’s beautiful Gold Love Ring exposed itself. I immediately secured the ring in my catch jar and continued on. I still had 2000 psi of air so can’t let that go to waste. I didn’t find any more rings but the dive was still quite nice in the warm lagoon with all the fish. When I got to my car I texted Jeffrey a pic of the ring and the response I got was, « Wowowowow That’s amazing Thank You X3 » Monday morning I mailed the ring back to Los Angeles and as you can see its safely back where it belongs. Aloha to Jeffrey and his lovely daughter.

Lost Gold Claddagh Wedding Band in Naia Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text from Ryan who was on vacation from Houston Texas. While playing in the water with his nephew at some point his Gold Claddagh Wedding Band came off. I told Ryan I could be there around 2PM and see if we could find his ring. When I arrived Ryan took me down to the lagoon and explained he was along about 50 yards of shoreline but no deeper then 2 feet. Not knowing what the tide was when he lost the ring I decided I better go out to about 3 feet or so in depth. I previously cleaned out this lagoon with my Equinox 800 so the hunting was sterile and I found nothing until about the 12th leg of the grid I got a decent tone and I was slightly surprised to see Ryan’s unque ring in my Xtreme scoop. I was at the deepest depth I was hunting on and just getting ready to turn around. Luck was with me! Ryan was relaxing in a lounge chair on the beach as I approached him and said, « I’m pretty certain this is your ring. » As you can see in the pic Ryan was very pleased to have his ring back. Vacation saved! Aloha to Ryan!

Lost Palladium Wedding Band at 4 Seasons Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call last week from the 4 Seasons Security. I was told a local gentleman named Chris was swimming in the lagoon with his son and somewhere on the North side his ring came off. My first hunt walking and then on scuba didn’t produce a Palladium ring. Then yesterday when I went back for a different ring hunt I popped onto the Palladium ring near shore more towards the center of the lagoon. Sure enough when I contacted Chris he came over and comfirmed the ring was his. It fit perfectly. Another very grateful customer. Aloha to Chris!

Lost wedding ring North Shore FOUND!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

It was Sunday morning around 5 AM and I take a look at my missed calls while checking emails. That’s when I noticed there was a voicemail of a lost wedding ring at Sunset beach on the North Shore. I responded to the voicemail via text. The couple, Sean and Megan now were on vacation from Utah. We agreed to meet up so my family and I headed down to Sunset Beach.

When we arrived at their address Sean took us to the back of their beautiful vacation rental which is steps away to the beach. Meeting the family and getting the story on how Megan unfortunately lost her ring was heart wrenching. She was playing in the sun and enjoying the water with the kids and after sometime in the water she looked at her hand and noticed that her ring of 19 years fell off her finger and she didn’t know where! In desperation The family tried snorkeling but didn’t find it.

I gathered all the information I needed and headed down the beach. I asked Sean if he can grab a bunch of the white rocks in the sand to help line the bottom of the ocean floor as markers while I search and grid out the area. I decided to start from the deepest part and work my way to the shallows as the tide was on the rise! I did one pass around chest deep to over head and nothing. But, as I started to make my next line I got a loud “platinum” sound in the deeper part of the sandbar. I started to dig and fan all along looking and praying this is the lost ring. I then notice a ring, approximately 6” buried in the sand with the markings described of Megan’s ring, a big and thick Platnuim band with yellow gold that surrounding a diamond. I was sooooo excited to find it! As I grabbed it and looked up towards the beach where the entire family stood looking at myself and Sean, I held up her RING and Megan’s sister shouted… “I think he found it!” And the whole family was moved with emotions and tears as i can hear them excited and in awe. So, I handed Sean his wife’s lost but FOUND wedding ring. As Sean headed up the beach he met his wife in the yard and got on one knee to put back on her finger. The precious ring symbolized  his love for her.

To the Stolhs … THIS FIND WAS ANSWERED PRAYERS! Another vacation saved and another happy ending!  Glad to help and have a blessed time on the North Shore!

Lost Celtic Design White & Yellow Gold Wedding Band at Aulani Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call yesterday evening from Nick who was vacationing at the Aulani resort and hailed from Cedar Park, Texas. The surf was up at Aulani Resort and while playing with his children in the shore break his Celtic Design White & Yellow Gold Wedding Band came off. Nick wasn’t exactly sure when or where but had a strong feeling it was near the shoreline. I told Nick I’d come early the next morning at low tide so the surf would be minimal in the lagoon. When I arrived the gates to the parking lot were stuck closed and I wasn’t able to get in until 45 minutes later. It was hot and kids were already entering the water at 7:30 AM. I tried my best to do a grid search but was unsuccessful locating Nick’s ring. I called to let him know and he was still in his room so I asked him to come down to the beach and go over the hunt to see if he had any other ideas. We decided I should extend the grid to the South. Still no ring. Then I decided to go through the area at where many children were playing and I had to work around them. Boom! In thigh deep water I got a strong signal on the Equinox and in one scoop there was Nick’s stunning ring. I called Nick back and told him the good news and he rushed down to the beach so I could return his ring. Aloha to Nick.

Found Lost wedding ring Waikiki

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

I knew it wasn’t good when I got a call at 7:30am from Margaret and she was letting me know that the evening prior Matt went to take a swim in the beautiful pacific ocean and lost his wedding band! I was working and could’t get out there until 12:30pm. After talking to Margaret we agreeed to meet up after work! After work I headed out to the beach and met up with the couple. I felt confident that we would find the ring and asked the couple for more specifics concerning the time it was dropped, tide, and how far out! This search started around 1:00pm with high hopes and after I searched for awhile I asked Matt to come out and place himself in position as to where he believed the ring dropped. Well needless to say Margaret was on the beach signaling to us if we were in or out of position.  After an hour I look on the beach and see Margaret just frustrated when th her hands on her hips and I asked Matt to go back in and comfort his wife. Knowing very well that we are all on edge and would love nothing other than to get this lost ring found!  Knowing the importance of this ring I continued to grid. Well, when I started to feel like I need to let them know that let’s call it a day and I’ll come back on a low tide I hear a GREAT TONE! But it’s way away from the mark… like pushed almost to the very shore… so I dig it and there in the bottom of the xtreme scoop is Matt’s Gold wedding band! I’m so excited at this moment… I put the ring in my hand and head back to the couple as they are standing on the beach. I ask them if they have a picture of the ring and sure enough Margaret pulls out her phone and shows me the ring. They not knowing I found it I ask Margaret “would you like to replace your husbands wedding ring back on his finger?” They both looked surprised and yet have a bright smile on their faces. But said “ NO WAY!” And  They both stood there amazed and we all shed a few tears knowing that the ring is Found! Not to mention the beach was filled with tourist and local which all shared the JOY in Another happy couple and saved vacation / Anniversary!

Always Great to never give up hope… LIVE ALOHA 🤙🏽

Lost Gold Wedding Band at Waikiki Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I received a call from Greg who was on his Honeymoon in Waikiki and had just gotten married the day before in his hometown in Indiana. While swimming in the cool waters of Waikiki his wedding band slide off in waist deep water and disappeared. Greg & his lovely bride Mackenzie spent the next hour trying to locate the gold wedding band in the soft sand. It was too well hidden and that’s when he googled, « Lost ring Hawaii » and found the ringfinders. I told Greg I’d meet him as soon as I could get my gear together after my quick stop at the pharmacy. When I arrived Greg & Mackenzie were waiting near the beach entrance and walked me down to the area the ring was lost. Greg lined up the markers he had and was standing in about waist deep water. I started the grid search on the deep side and worked toward shore. The sand was sterile and I new his ring would scream as soon as the Excal got near it. Sure enough on about the 8th pass I got a great tone and one scoop down there was Greg’s shiny gold wedding band in the scoop. I could see a smile on Mackenzie’s face as I handed Greg his ring. Honeymoon saved! Aloha to Greg & Mackenzie!
