Lost Gold, Diamonds & Sapphires Wedding Band at Royal Hawaiian Beach Waikiki…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a voicemail from Michael who was back home on the mainland wanting to know if I could detect his wife Erin’s Gold, Diamonds & Sapphires Wedding Ring in the dry sand at Royal Hawaiian Beach.  I was heading to lunch and he gave me Erin’s number to coordinate the search time.  We agreed I would be there around 2PM and Erin would meet me on the beach to show me the area.  My daughter Jodi hooked me up by dropping me off at the Royal Hawaiian Beach Access which brought me to the exact spot Erin was waiting.  Erin showed me where she was digging and it was about a 10 by 15 foot square.  I fired up the « Manticore » did a noise cancel then started the hunt.  First trip around the box no targets.  Second trip solid #3 on the Beast and in one scoop there was Erin’s gorgeous ring in the scoop.  Several tourists on the beach started clapping and congratulating us.  Erin was flying home in about 5 hours so that recovery was a major load off her mind.  Aloha to Erin & Michael!

Lost Platinum & Diamonds Wedding Ring at Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring hunt began when I got a text from Keli asking, « Can you possibly help us? My husband lost his wedding band? » I immediately called and told Keli who was on vacation from Bowie, Maryland, that I would grab my gear and head down as I’m only 10 minutes away from the Hilton Hawaiian Village.  Thankfully,  when I arrived there was a free parking stall.  Keli met me at the Shrimp truck and then took me to meet her husband Jason so he could narrow down the search area.  Jason assured me he was only waist deep when he caught the football which knocked his Platinum & Diamond wedding ring off and he watched it disappear into the murky lagoon.  The first grid we made only yielded some trash & coin targets.  Keli really thought they were more to the west so I extended that direction and no luck still.  Jason and Keli asked if I could do a few more grid lines to the west towards a gentleman on the beach.  I was on what was going to be the final leg when « BOOM » nice 37-54 target on the Manticore and in one scoop there was Jason’s awesome ring in the scoop.  Several cheers rang out on the beach as I reunited Jason with his ring.  We had a few laughs and hugs and it was obvioud there vacation was going to be just fine.  Aloha to Jason & Keli!

Lost Tungsten Wedding Ring at Kuhio Beach Waikiki…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Mark who is visiting Waikiki from Houston, Texas.  Before going in the water at Kuhio Beach he placed his Tungsten Wedding Ring in his shoe for safekeeping.  When he exited the water and in a momentary lapse of reason he grab his shoes to put back on and the ring flew out and disappeared into the sand.  He realized it would be hopeless as he didn’t really notice which way the ring went.  He reached out to me and I was able to leave immediately.  I arrived and parked in short order then went to meet Mark at McDonalds which was across from the loss area.  Mark drew a grid in the sand for me but no ring was found.  I asked some tourists if they could move to the area I just scanned and of course they did knowing the situation.  I restarted the search and my first target previously under a beach mat happened to be Mark’s ring.  He mentioned his 10th Anniversary was fast approaching and he didn’t want to have to tell his wife he lost his wedding ring.  All ends well no dog house for Mark.  Aloha to Mark!

Lost White Gold Wedding Band at Aulani Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find started when I got a text from Josh at Aloha Security stating a couple in Aulani Lagoon the husband lost his White Gold wedding band.  I called and met Josh at Lagoon 1 for the details.  Josh put me in touch with Glory who is Eli’s wife.  She described the area lost and I could hear Eli confirming.  Eli was in 3-4 feet of water when his ring came off probably from the sun tan lotion on his fingers.  I found a few trash targets then about 30 minutes into the hunt I got a nice tone on the Mantcore and after two scoops there was  a large white gold band in the scoop.  By the time I had gotten to my car Eli had texted me a pic of his ring and what I had was a perfect match.  Their home was in Makakilo along my route home so I dropped off the ring there.  Very gracious couple.  Aloha to Eli & Glory!

Lost Gold Heirloom Pendant at Kilauea District Park…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This pendant hunt began when I got a text from Lisa asking if I could find her daughter Tien’s Gold Heirlloom Pendants lost during Softball practice?  She said it was lost the first week of April and she believed she’d know the area to hunt as while the base line was being raked the gold chain was exposed near third base.  I told Lisa I would try that evening.  Lisa & Tien met me at the park and showed me where the chain had been found.  I assumed the pendant would have had to come off before finding the chain.  So after finding many targets in the area I decided to go over my track concentrating on low conductor surface targets.  After about three nondesireable targets I got a solid #4 on the Manticore.  I started moving the red dirt with a flat tip screw driver when the glisten of gold sparkled and it was one of two pendants.  I hunted some more for the other gold star pendant but no luck.  Although I covered a large area I think I’ll go back sometime and see if I can nail it down.  Aloha to Lisa & Tien

Furthest & Fastest Recovery! Lost Silver & Diamonds Ring at Keawaula Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Ryan who was on vacation with his girlfriend Kat both from Albany, New York.  While enjoying the day at Keawaula Beach which happens to be the furthest beach from my home, Kat had taken her Silver & Diamonds ring off and placed it in the cup holder of her beach chair.  When they were getting ready to leave Ryan picked up the beach chair, not realizing the ring was in the holder, shook the sand off the chair and the ring disappeared into the soft white sand.  I was at the Animal Hospital, picking up our dog and I told him it might be a bit but I would grab my gear when I got home and would get there as fast as I could.  Ryan said to call when I was near and he’d come out to the road to flag me down.  Traffic was awesome and I got there in about an hour.  Ryan walked me down and Kat was seated next to the area on the beach.  Ryan had the area marked with sticks but I asked him to draw a box in the sand where he thought the ring would be.  As Ryan was dragging my scoop through the sand along with one of his steps the ring exposed itself and glistened in the sun.  I said look there is the ring as I reached down to retrieve it.  Kat and Ryan were in total amazement.  Either Ryan’s foot or the scoop moved just enough sand to expose the ring.  I guess I can call this my furthest & fastest ring recovery ever.  Aloha to Kat & Ryan!

Lost Steel with Meteor, Rose Gold & Koa Wood Inlay Wedding Ring at Pupukea Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text from Davis who is in the Army and stationed on Oahu.  He lost a Steel with Meteor, Rose Gold and Koa Wood Inlay at Pupukea Beach the day before.  He told me he had the ring in a pocket of a beach chair and when they were leaving he shook the sand off the chair and the ring must have fallen out and disappeared.  They searched into dark with no luck.  They considered renting a detector but none were available at the moment and that’s when he googled and reached out to theringfinders.  Davis was on a fishing trip but said his wife Liliann would be willing to meet me on the North Shore and show me the location.  We agreed to meet around noon.  When I arrived Liliann came up to the parking lot to escort me to the search area.  After drawing a box in the sand I started the grid search.  It was a fairly small area and after 10 minutes and a few trash targets we didn’t have the ring.  Liliann’s inlaw Megan arrived on scene and was pretty sure we were just a bit more to the right next to a path entry.  Not knowing what this ring would come up on the ManticoreI was digging all targets.  I got a nice shallow target on the « Beast » and thinking bottle cap, as the 2D display was all over the place, Davis’ unique ring was in the scoop after the second dig.  I’m sure the Manticore was very confused with that metal configuration.  Liliann and Megan were shocked as I showed them the ring.  Hugs and smiles all around and Davis sent me a selfie once he got back from his fishing trip and had the ring back on his finger.  Much Aloha to Liliann, Megan & Davis!

Lost White Gold Diamonds & Sapphires Engagement Ring at Waialae Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Taylor from Salt Lake City, Utah.  While preparing a wedding proposal sight at Waialae Beach for her friends, Scott & Maren, the Crystal Carriage that was holding the White Gold Diamonds and Sapphires Engagement Ring opened and the ring popped out, fell into the sand and disappeared.   They searched everywhere but the ring could not be found.  She did a google search and found my contact information.  This beach is only five minutes away so I told Taylor to stop hunting, hold tight, I’d grab my gear and be right there.  There was zero parking when I arrived but after a quick ride around the country club parking lot a space opened up on the beach.  Taylor was waiting in the parking lot and escorted me down to the area the ring was lost.  There was a 20 foot by 20 foot box in the sand with many piles of sand where they had been searching for the ring.  I fired up the « Beast » and started a grid search.  On the second leg I got a nice #12/14 tone and it actually took a few gentle scoops to recover the stunning engagement ring.  Taylor was surely relieved and gave me a hug.  The proposal may have been hampered a bit but finding the ring surely was a relief for everyone as an applause rang out on the beach.  Aloha to Scott & Maren and of course Taylor!

Lost Sentimental Gold Ring at Kualoa Regional Park Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began on 11 March when I got a text from Chante asking my availability to hunt for her boy friend Joshua’s Sentimental Gold ring at Kualoa Regional Park Beach.  While seated at the water’s edge the ring slipped off and disappeared.  We agreed to go the next day.  They picked me up at home as it was along the way and we took one car to the beach.  When we arrived Joshua took me to the location and demonstrated what happened.  The surf was up and the water was murky.  I noticed right off there was plenty of coral and rubble so the hunt was going to be difficult.  I only dug shallow targets and there were many as the beach is rather trashy with pull tabs and aluminum metal pieces.  After about and hour and a half I didn’t find Joshua’s ring but popped out two others.  It was getting dark and I told told Joshua I’d return on a low tide with clearer water to see if some of the targets I couldn’t dig in the coral might be his ring.  I went this past Saturday morning but no luck.  Then I returned yesterday afternoon and the conditions were perfect.  I was detecting the low tide mark and got a nice hit on the Manticore.  The target was in the coral rubble and I was able to get a good bite with my Extreme scoop.  On the second dig the target was in my scoop and when I peered into the scoop I could see some shiny gold amongst the coral rubble.  I reached in and as I grabbed the ring and turned it over the black « K » came into view and I knew it was Joshua’s.  I went back to my car and texted Chante a pic with « Found it! » She agreed to meet me at home that evening and she would surprise Joshua with the ring he thought was lost to the « Aina ».  The video she sent me of the ring reunion was awesome.  The smile on Joshua’s face was ear to ear.  Much Aloha to Chante & Joshua!

Lost White Gold Wedding Band at Ulua Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began on Sunday March 24th when I got a text from Scott who was on vacation from British Columbia, Canada.  Two days prior, he lost his White Gold Wedding Band in Ulua Lagoon at Ko Olina Resort.  He was playing football in shallow water and building sand castles with his kids along the shoreline.  He sent me some pics of the event so I was able to triangulate the search area.  Initially splitting the beach in half I ended up on the wrong side and that hunt yielded very little and most importantly not Scott’s wedding ring.  On the second attempt there were many people in the water so I aborted the hunt until Easter Sunday morning when the lagoon was practically empty.  On about the third leg of the grid search in belly deep water I got a nice strong tone on the Manticore and in one scoop there was Scott’s ring glistening in my scoop.  I went to my car and sent Scott a picture of his ring with a « Happy Easter ».  Scott finally received his ring this afternoon in Canada and sent me the awesome pic above.  That blooming tree is really special.  Much Aloha to our Northern neighbor Scott!
