Ring Lost On Cortez, FL Recovered By SRARC
Merry and Brian were visiting Anna Maria Island from Long Island for a couple of months. They decided to have lunch at the Star Fish Company and Restaurant in Cortez, Fl. After lunch they were sitting at the bar when an old friend arrived. Merry stood up and hugged her friend and as she patted her on the back her ring flew off and fell through the crack between the deck planks. This was not just any ring, it was Merry’s grandmothers wedding ring handed down to Merry’s mother and then to Merry her self just one month ago. Brian went under the deck which is over the water and searched but could not find it. A customer noticed what was going on and told Merry about SRARC ring finders. Merry contacted Joe Szemer who sent a callout. Mike Miller responded and in about 10 minutes the ring was back on Merry’s finger. The customers at the restaurant all cheered and Merry broke down in tears. We at SRARC get so much satisfaction when we get to return a special item like this. We are ever so happy to have recovered this heirloom for Merry.

Jon and family were down from Ohio for another vacation at their favorite spot on Bean Point, Anna Maria Island. Last year in November they were in the same area and Jon lost his wedding ring. This year he was being careful and took his new ring off and put on their blanket. After a few hours enjoying the beach they returned to the blanket, packed up their things and shook the sand out of the blanket. Oh no they forgot about his ring and now he had lost another wedding ring to the sands of Anna Maria Island. On returning home to Ohio, Jon found SRARC on the web and contacted us on the outside chance someone had found his ring. He provided a Google Earth map with approximate locations for both rings. Mike got the call and thought it was a long shot but decided to try for the recently lost ring anyway. Apparently Jon is a darn good guesser because after getting a few more details Mike was able to recover his ring in about 5 minutes. Mike is wondering if the second ring will be so easy. All our best to Jon for the return of his ring.Ring Lost on Anna Maria Island is Recovered by SRARC

Patrick, Erika and children along with Erika’s parents were down from Ohio for a nice break before school begins. They were having a great time as this was their first stay on Anna Maria Island and they fell in love with the area. Midway through their week here, Patrick was in waist deep water tossing a ball back and forth to Erika who was up on the beach. For some reason Patrick reached over and felt for his wedding ring. It was gone!!!!!!! They search with dive masks for hours but had no luck. They decided to contact the various agency’s in the area to report that it was missing and in the process Patrick googled “lost Ring Anna Maria Island”. When he saw SRARC ring finders he clicked on the site and discovered we would come look for the ring. He contacted Howard Metts and the information was passed on to Mike Miller. Mike scheduled a hunt and met the family and Carl Boekemier at the location. Patrick was able to narrow the area we needed to search and after about 15 minutes Carl got the hit. The whole family was around us when Carl pushed his scoop toward Patrick and with a great big smile on his face Patrick reached in and grabbed his ring. Erika yelled let me see, and when she saw the ring her face turned into a great big grin. Their son had been hunting the beach for treasure and was finding mostly bottle caps with a few coins mixed in. Carl let him use his detector for a few minutes and to listen to what a gold ring sounded like. I think we might have inspired a budding young metal detectorist. Patrick told me after his experience with us he intends to encourage his son to pursue the hobby. That makes SRARC break out into a great big smile. Our best to the family on returning home with a fond memory of our area.

Ring Lost on Siesta Key is Recovered by SRARC
The dreaded ring in the chair trick is no match for our Ringfinders! ************************************************ Rick and his wife were down from North Georgia near Atlanta enjoying the wonderful beaches near Siesta Key. Rick’s wife took off her wedding band and put it in the beach chair for safe keeping. When they were ready to go they scooped up the chair, shook off the sand and headed for the condo. Only to realize the ring was back on the beach. Rick found SRARC online and made the call. Just so happens Mike Miller and Paul Hill were less then a half mile away looking for another lost ring. They were about ready to leave because the surf was too rough to hunt due to the storms out in the gulf. They headed right over and were met by Rick immediately. He took them to the spot were he thought they had set up on the day before. The search began. Within 3 minutes Paul had the ring in his scoop. Rick was amazed and truly shocked that they had recovered his wife’s matching wedding band. He actually wiped a tear from his eye. It just doesn’t get any better then that! Enjoy your stay and come back any time! Thanks guys for your compassion and time!

Lost Ring On Longboat Key Recovered by SRARC
Liz’s best friend Alicia visited with her family from Orlando over Memorial Day weekend. The two families decided to go to the beach to watch the sunset and then have dinner at St Armand’s Circle. When they arrived at St Armand’s it was so crowded that they decided to drive further up to Longboat Key to find a place to watch the sunset. They found a public access area where they could park and unloaded the car and kids and walked out to the beach. The children got busy right away and played in the sand until it was time to go. Johnny, Liz’s husband picked up their daughter Mackenzie and took her to the waters edge to clean the sand off of her hands and arms. After she was clean Johnny brushed his hands off on his pants and felt his wedding ring fall off into the water and disappear. They looked but had no luck so they headed home. The next day they rented a metal detector but still had no luck. A few days later, they found SRARC on the Ring Finders site. Howard put out a call and Mike Miller responded and soon arrangements were made to meet at the site. Liz arrived a little late and Mike had already recovered the ring before she got there. Liz was overjoyed as you can see in the picture. It has been a tough week for the family and the return of the ring was a big relief. Our best wishes for a rapid recovery of Johnny from his upcoming surgery.

Jessica, Daniel and friends traveled from Brooksville to Coquina Beach for a day in the sun and water over the Memorial day weekend. They were all in the water and tossing a nerf football between them. Jessica was standing to the side watching when all of a sudden Daniel threw the ball at her. She put her hand up to deflect the ball and off flew her wedding ring. They looked for about a half and hour or so, but decided there was no way to find it. A little later they contacted SRARC through Ring Finders and arrangements were made for a hunt the next day. Mike showed up at 6:30 am and started to hunt. After about 3 hours of hunting up came the ring. Whe informed her ring had been found, Jessica hopped into her car and drove all the way from Brooksville to retrieve it. As you can see in the picture she was all smiles.

Ken, Trudy, and daughter Monroe were down from up state New York for a little spring break. They went to the beach across the road from there hotel on Coquina Beach to enjoy a swim in the gulf. There were lots of swells so Ken took Monroe out into deeper water and began tossing her into the air and catching her. After returning to the beach he noticed his wedding ring was missing. They thought it was gone forever but then found SRARC on the internet. He contacted us and made arrangements to meet at the location. Mike arrived knowing it was to rough to hunt but wanted to get the details in case they need to leave before we could hunt. Once the gulf settled down, Mike called Ken and they met at the beach again. With Ken directing him to the most likely area it was lost the hunt began. In about 30 minutes the ring was found and the whole family was smiling. They were headed home the next morning and extremely thankful to be returning with his wedding ring.

Lido Key: Lost Ring Is Recovered
McKenzie was down on Lido Key beach chillin’ out with some friends on Sunday. She had her wedding ring of ten years on when they decided to serve a volleyball back and forth to each other. On one of her serves, McKenzie felt her ring fly off. She didn’t see where it went but everyone stopped what they wee doing and searched for the ring. After having no luck, she went and got a metal detector and searched for a couple more hours with no result. After hearing about the loss that evening one of her friends whispered into her ear that there was a Metal Detecting group that would come and help her search for her lost ring. She contacted SRARC Ring Finders and Mike Miller made arrangements to meet the next morning. She showed up with her husband and metal detector and pointed out the area that the ring might be. After about an hour Mike found and returned her ring. Then the plot thickens. It turns out that she had made arrangements to turn this ring in along with some additional cash for an upgraded Diamond ring to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary. She didn’t know what they were going to do if the ring had not been found. Disaster averted!!!!! With SRARC to the rescue. It’s great to see McKenzie smiling again.Lost Ring Is Recovered At Longboat Key

Jamie and Matt came down to Longboat Key for a one-week vacation with the whole family to get away from the bitter cold in New York and Washington DC. When they arrived, they went out onto the beach to join Mom, Dad, and siblings. Jamie took off her wedding set, put the rings into her shirt pocket and proceeded to lather up the kids with suntan lotion. When done, the started walking down the beach looking for shells.
Apparently as she bent over to pick up shells or to pick up the kids the rings fell out of her shirt pocket. At some point later in the day she remembered her rings were in her pocket, but when she reached for them, they were gone. Her heart sank and she called out to her family that her rings were missing. They searched but had no luck. Later that afternoon Matt found SRARC on the Ring Finders site.
A meeting time for the next morning was arranged and Paul Hill, Ed Osmar, and Mike Miller showed up to search. They were told the just before they arrived one of the rings had been found by Jamie’s brother-in-law, but the engagement ring was still missing. After listening to what had happened and going to the area where the ring had been found a search began. After covering the area around where the one ring had been found the group divided the beach into 3 sections and proceeded to hunt those areas. When Paul got done in his area, he returned to an area close to where the first ring had been found. Sure, enough in a few minutes he got the signal and out came the beautiful engagement ring. We spent just under an hour searching and the payoff was outstanding. We got lots of cheering and a boat load of smiles. Now the whole family and relax for a week in the sun without worrying about the lost rings.
