Tungsten Carbide ring found in Denver lake

  • from Denver (Colorado, United States)

While placing anchors for an inflatable float platform in a private lake in northern Denver Erin lost his Tungsten Carbide wedding ring. He had repositioned the float and anchors a couple of times before finalizing its location.  He had made a few attempts to recover his ring by using a snorkel mask and free-diving the site.  Three weeks later Erin had heard of my attempts to find one of his neighbors ring and contacted me.

The search area wasn’t too large but due to the fact that the lake was a former sand and gravel pit the depth of the water varied from only about 3 feet deep to chin deep. With one of my underwater detectors in hand I began my grid search of the area. Not knowing how a Tungsten Carbide ring would read on my machine I needed to pull up all metal targets. After retrieving several nails, pieces of can and other miscellaneous debris and placing this debris in my trash pouch, Erin’s ring came up in my scoop. Once again the proper equipment, in this case an underwater metal detector and a proper scoop, along with the knowledge and experience in using this equipment saved the day.

Ring recovered: July 8, 2010

Lost White Gold Wedding Ring,Douglas Park, Vancouver

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Early this morning…4am I was getting ready to do a search at a lake, I quickly checked my emails before I headed out and I noticed that someone was in need of my service…Here is the email below…
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
*Found your services thru Google tonight as I lost my wedding band at Douglas Park in Cambie area while working out.

Went for a work out with a buddy and took off my wedding band and put in shorts pocket – did not know there was a hole in pocket and must have fallen out. I worked out in only certain areas of the park – in the work out circuit which is covered in bark mulch, on certain of area of the grass and did a couple of loops of the actual park. Tried to look myself but since it was 10pm no visibility even with the street lights.

I need your help in finding my wedding band. Can you please let me know your fees and time frame for being able to do the search.

I am going to try and look at 5am tomorrow morning when the sun is up but cant imagine having much luck.

If you get this email you can call, text or email me tonight or tomorrow morning.

Thank you,

Patrick

Well I decided to search for this young man’s ring first, due to the fact that it was in an area that someone could easily find. It was 5am when I called Patrick and he was getting ready to search for his ring so we met at the park.

He showed me the area he could have lost the ring due to a hole in his pocked, The area was Huge!!! We were hoping to find it in the workout circuit as it was in a small area and it would’ve only taking minutes…No such luck!

Patrick then showed me where he was doing wind sprints in the middle of the field I took note of the area then asked him to walk me around the outside of the park where he and his friend did there run. It was approximately one mile around the park!

I knew he had to get to work and that it could take me the best part of the day to do this search, so as we walked around the park I was talking and swing my loop in hopes of getting lucky…Well 15 minutes and less the half way around the park I get a signal and look down and there it was!

I might not show it on the videos but I get as excited inside as the person I find the ring for…

Platinum Wedding Band In Pleasant Lake

  • from Twin Cities Metro (Minnesota, United States)

I was contacted by Eric as he had lost his Platinum wedding band while getting his sail boat ready at his mooring anchor. He was actually in a blow up canoe while getting his sail boat set for a day on the lake, when off popped his ring into 10 feet of water. He tried to mark it with a small bobber tied to a washer. Storms have gone through the area lately and I think they must have washed away his marker as I couln’t find it as I was scuba diving the area in search for the ring. I was down approx. 15 minutes when I got a great hit on my detector. With visibility being very poor, I had to just sift with my hands and grab hands full of silt and wave it across my detector. After a few handfulls that wonderful full strength sound shot out and there was the Platinum ring. Needless to say, Eric was very happy to have his wedding band back on his hand. Then he called his wife with the good news and he said she was even more relieved than him! What a great feeling also for me being able to help them out.

Lake Minnetonka Diamond Ring

  • from Twin Cities Metro (Minnesota, United States)

I was contacted by a young lady that had lost her late Mothers Gold / Diamond ring at a 4th of July party at her boyfriends home on the lake. She wasn’t sure if the ring had fallen off while in the yard or when she went swimming off the dock. I decided to check the grounds before getting into my scuba gear as the water was over 6 feet deep in the swimming area. After findng a quarter, a beer can and a dime – Up popped the Diamond ring. So glad it was found as I am sure this ring meant a lot to Jennie!

Lost diamond ring found at the beach

Summer just arrived… July 7th, it was a long wait, now we complain about how hot it is…go figure!

I was at work when I got a call from a young lady that lost her diamond engagement ring in the sand at Jericho Beach, Vancouver.

Unfortunately I can’t just leave work to help her, I told her that I might not get there until late that night. As it was I met her husband at around 10:15 pm, he knew the area that the ring was lost at and showed me… I started my search.

I’d say it took no longer 10 minutes before I received a faint signal that turned out to be a beautiful diamond ring. He only proposed to her 4 months ago so that ring was new and needed to find its owner, and it did!

It helps when people mark the area so I can come in and have a chance to find it, the hard searches are the ones when people lose their ring but aren’t sure where it came off.

Thanks for reading my stories!

Lost bracelet Leech Lake MN…Found 50 years later and returned to its owner.

  • from Twin Cities Metro (Minnesota, United States)

My family went up north Minnesota to a resort on Leech Lake. While there I decided to help out the owner and try to find some old mouring anchors. As I was scuba diving I found an old  bracelet. When I returned home, I got a chance to clean it up a bit and was able to read a name on the bracelet. Off to the the internet and only one person was found with this name and he was in Omaha Nebraska. I called and sure enough it was him. He is currently 68 years old and said he had lost the bracelet when he was in High School. His family used to go up to the resort and he was fishing off the dock and the bracelet fell off into the water. He said he searched but couldn’t find it. He was so happy as it brought back a lot of fond memories. I sendt it back to him and I hope it is a personal treasure that can be handed down in his family with a great story for the generations to come. Take care – Darrin
