Alex texted me saying his wife had dropped her cellphone in their family pond while kayaking and asked if I’d be able to come out and try and find it.
Well, not going to lie, after the recent cold snaps I was very hesitant to say yes. I told him as long as it wasn’t over my head I was willing to try.
Alex said the water was chilly and that it was about chest deep water and he had a Life360 last location spot where they think it went into the water.
I told him I would head there after work today and try to fish it out.
I arrive, we jump in a canoe and kayak and paddle across the pond to the spot. I parked the canoe on the edge so I could just walk out to the spot.
About 10 mins later I got a loud can hit and was able to use my feet to push it into my scoop.
“DIG IT ALL, SAVE SOME PHONES, BURY THE DRAMA!”
I was very grateful for Shawn coming out and getting this done for us! I had spent several hours myself swimming around in the cold pond just feeling around for it with no luck. I was holding out hope but also aware retrieval may not be possible but less than 10 min in the pond he retrieved it! Awesome guy and a huge help. Definitely worth the call
