White gold wedding band lost, then found with a metal detector in Nashville, TN

  • from Nashville (Tennessee, United States)

Danny found me on TheRingFinder website after losing his white gold wedding band at a park in Nashville, TN. He had been carrying it in his hand when it slipped out and flew into some grass. He was pretty confident it was in an area about 20 feet by 20 feet. After asking Danny a few questions, I asked him to start a timer. Nineteen minutes into the search with my Minelab Equinox 800 metal detector, I found the ring several feet outside of the 20’ by 20’ search area where Danny thought the ring would be. It was concealed in the 3” tall grass and would have been difficult, if not impossible, to locate without a detector. It was Danny’s information that put me close enough for the ring to be found. He was elated that I found his ring, which is obvious by the huge smile on his face. To make this story even better, a gentleman walked by and congratulated Danny on having his ring found. Come to find out they grew up in the same neighborhood in another state. What a great day to not only re-unite Danny with his lost wedding band, but also have Danny be re-united with an old friend.

Lost family heirloom diamond earring found in Hendersonville, TN

Client Justin reached out to me on 04-22-2025 regarding a lost family heirloom. He explained that his wife was wearing the diamond and silver earrings that she inherited from her now-deceased aunt, and one of them came off as they were walking home from a nearby neighbor’s Easter party in Hendersonville, TN. They were able to find the backing to the earring as well as the outer ring with tiny little diamonds, but could not find the much larger center diamond that was affixed to the sterling silver post. Justin said everyone from the party even came over to the grass covered curb strip and got on their hands and knees to help search, but they couldn’t find the earring. Justin and his wife said I was their last hope in finding the very special earring that had so much sentimental value. No pressure there, but I was ready for the challenge. Justin had the matching earring for me to swing my coil over and see what the target ID came up as, but honestly it was not a strong repeatable signal. Underground power lines may have caused some interference. I did forget to start my stop watch, but after about fifteen to twenty minutes I got the signal I was hoping for. The Bermuda grass on the curb strip had that earring hidden quite well, with the tip of the post pointing straight up and the diamond resting on the soil. Justin and his wife were elated to have the earring back, and said they were going to get screw on backings before the earrings can be worn again. It was a happy ending to the story of the lost diamond earring, and I’m honored to have a roll in the story.

Lost platinum wedding ring lost in Brentwood, TN found with metal detector

  • from Nashville (Tennessee, United States)

I was contacted by a client, we’ll call him “Mr. Charles,” on 04-21-2025 at about 9:30 in the morning regarding a lost ring. I met with Mr. Charles at his beautiful Brentwood, TN home less than an hour later. He had lost his platinum wedding band in his back yard while working on a project. Although the back yard was quite expansive, he was able to narrow the search area because he remembered the areas he had been and just as importantly, where he hadn’t been. I started the stop watch function on my phone and began the search. In just under forty minutes I got the audible signal on my metal detector. The ring was completely concealed in the lush green grass, but there was no hiding from my “magic beep stick.” Mr. Charles only agreed to having his picture taken if I made him unrecognizable, hence then smiley face emoji.

Lost Gold Wedding Ring Found in Spring Hill Tennessee

  • from Nashville (Tennessee, United States)

I received a phone call from Gabriel on 01-28-2025. Gabriel explained that yesterday he was throwing some bird food (old bread) into an empty field across the street from his house, and he felt his gold wedding band fly off his hand and surely land in the field

. He and his family members spent hours scouring the vacant lot, which was mostly muddy with patches of weeds. Gabriel and his wife were heading out of town, but he put me in contact with his mother-in-law, Leisa. I made the 45 minute drive to Gabriel’s house and was met there by Leisa. She showed me the general area where she thought Gabriel was standing when he threw the bread into the field. There were still pieces of bread in the field to show the direction Gabriel threw.

I searched the field for just over an hour with only a few coin and can slaw pieces, along with extremely mud caked boots to show for it.

After getting the mud off my boots I walked across the street to Gabriel’s front yard. I searched the side to the left of the driveway, and nothing. I went to the side to the right of the driveway, and a few minutes later I got that signal in my headphones that told me, “You found me!” Yes! There it was, concealed by the lush green grass. No digging needed.

I called Leisa back to Gabriel and her daughter’s home. With a straight face I told her that there was no way that Gabriel’s ring was in the field. I told her I searched well beyond the borders where the ring would have landed and didn’t find it. Leisa had a bummed look on her face. I told Leisa I ran my detector over the grass in the front yard, and held the ring up and asked if this looked like Gabriel’s ring. That sad face turned into the biggest smile and may have even brought a few tears of joy. She explained that Gabriel’s wedding ring had been blessed before he married her daughter, and the ring meant so much to them.

Leisa called Gabriel, who was driving out of state and told them the great news. She had them on speaker phone so I could hear the excitement myself. Meeting wonderful people in my beautiful new home state of Tennessee and re-uniting them with their lost treasures is a great thing. It doesn’t get much better.

Lost wedding ring found in Murfreesboro, TN

  • from Nashville (Tennessee, United States)

Kari’s husband lost his titanium wedding band in the back yard of their beautiful Murfreesboro, TN home about a month ago when he was doing some yard work. They had spent countless hours searching for the ring, and even bought an inexpensive metal detector to use themselves. Kari was able to laugh when she said it was a much better noisemaker than a metal detector. Kari and her husband were somewhat certain the ring was somewhere in their backyard, but no idea where in the pretty expansive yard. I began a grid search and located the ring in just under 22 minutes. I offered to show Kari how to use the metal detector they bought in the event they needed to find another ring. She was quick to respond that she would much rather just call me for any future metal detecting needs. It is often that word-of-mouth recommendations are the best advertising there is.

Lost ring found in Brentwood, TN

Gary called me on 11-22-2024 and let me know that he lost his platinum wedding band a week ago in his back yard. He was pretty confident that it was in about a 20’ by 20’ grassy area. He had searched the area for a week, even using what he called a “kid’s” metal detector, and had no luck finding the very sentimental wedding band. We agreed that I would search his yard on 11-23-2024. After he showed me the area where he believed the ring slipped off his finger while he was playing catch with his son, I turned on my detector and got to work. I had another day where luck played a huge part, not so much in finding the ring, but in the time it took to find it. In a new personal record of 38 SECONDS I found Gary’s ring. He could not believe it was found so quickly. It was the first signal with my detector and I hadn’t even moved my feet. Today was another great day helping reunite someone with their beloved treasure.

Lost ring found Franklin, TN

Stephanie had already given up hope on finding her engagement ring and even started the process for filing an insurance claim. She had used her son’s metal detector to search for her ring for several hours, coming up empty-handed. Someone mentioned TheRingFinders to Stephanie and she reached out to me. I made the one hour drive to her, and asked her basic questions about how and when she lost the ring. She was convinced the ring was lost in her chicken coop. Instead of starting my search there, I started near the back door to the house and I’m so glad I did. In less than one minute of swinging the coil, I got a tone, and it was Stephanie’s gorgeous ring. She cried tears of joy and gave me a huge hug. Not all searches end up with lost items being located, and I may never find another lost item so quickly. Today I had luck on my side and sometimes luck is better than skill.

You want me to look WHERE for your wife’s ring? Is this a joke?

  • from Nashville (Tennessee, United States)

I got a text from Pat on 10-12-2023 and he asked if I would respond to Calaveras County, CA, about an hour from where I live to help look for his wife’s wedding ring that she lost just last night. Pat had contacted another RingFinder before contactiung me, but that RingFinder was not available until the following day. It all worked out, because it had been my intent to go metal detecting on this day anyway. When I asked Pat if his wife, Renee, knew the area where she lost her wedding ring, he said it was either in their bedroom, or in a PIG PEN. Pat’s wife had been in and out of their sow’s birthing pen off and on all night, to make she the sow was alright during the birthing process. As an animal lover myself, I understood all of this. I told Pat I’d at his place in about an hour. He told me that Renee would be anxiously waiting for me.

Renee explained that her wedding ring was comprised not only of the diamonds from her original wedding ring that Pat got her, but also had diamonds from some pinky rings that had belonged to her now-deceased father. She also had sapphires mounted on the ring, which are Pat’s birthstone. When I saw pictures of the ring, my jaw dropped. This would be the most beautiful ring I had ever searched for, and I was determined to find it and re-unite it with Renee.

Since Renee said she had been grabbing fresh straw from two different locations near the birthing pen, I started searching those areas with my metal detector. I figured I’d let the momma pig and her two piglets rest. Then after about an hour of searching these other areas, it was time to crawl into the birthing pen, kind of like a big doghouse, to look for the ring. Momma pig was still exhausted, and the newborn piglets were too, so I just crawled in there with them. It was a little cramped to use my Equinox 800, even with the DetectEd carbon fiber shaft collapsed all the way, so out came the XP Mi-6 pinpointer. The first two dozen targets were found to be nails or screws used in the construction of the birthing pen, but then another squealing sound and vibration from the Mi-6, and there it was. The ring was found on top of the wood flooring, covered with about six to eight inches of compacted straw hay.

Now for the fun part. Before the search even started, Renee had asked me if I could run the metal detector her animals (dogs, pigs and chickens) in the event the animal had found the ring and swallowed the shiny object. I told her I could absolutely do that, but that would be done after I searched the pig pen and birthing area first. This request gave me the idea to try the old « pull a ring out of someone’s ear » trick. I scanned her first weiner dog and of course, the detector did not give off a signal. When she brought her other weiner dog out, I scanned the body area with the Equinox 800 and again, no signal. (The detector wasn’t even turned on). With Renee’s ring on my left index finger, cupped in my palm, I reached under the floppy ear of the weiner dog, and there it was, Renee’s beautiful ring. Renee was elated beyond words. She immediately gave me a big hug and thanked me repeatedly.  What a great feeling to find such an incredible ring for such a nice couple. Renee thought she’d never see the ring again. Unfortunately, not all searches end this way, but it just goes to show what some exceptional metal detecting equipment and determination can do. When I say determination, I mean crawling into a birthing pen with a 250+ pound momma pig and her newborn piglets. No animals or humans were harmed in any way during this search.

Very special wedding band lost and recovered in Lodi, CA

  • from Nashville (Tennessee, United States)

I got a call from Jackie on 03-27-2023 at about 8:00 PM. She said her husband, TJ, had lost his gold wedding band yesterday in their front yard while doing yard work. They had spent hours sifting through leaves and bush trimmings with the help of family members. Jackie had even bought a metal detector, but found only the iron landscape staples and a few trash targets.

There was a dilemma. A heavy rainstorm was going to hit us the next two days. I offered to go straight to Jackie and TJ’s home in Lodi, CA, about 45 minutes away, and Jackie said, “Let’s do this!” I picked up my brother Mark, who is also a detectorist and we headed to Lodi.

After Jackie and TJ showed us the areas where they suspected the ring was lost, Mark and I started a systematic search of the front yard landscaping. Thirty three minutes into the search the ring was found. The expression on TJ’s face when I showed him his ring was priceless.

TJ said his wedding ring was made from gold that came from rings from both of his now-deceased grandfathers. It was an awesome feeling knowing that we were able to let the story of that very special ring to continue on.

This was my very first call out through TheRingFinder directory, and it will forever be a very memorable one. Jackie and TJ are such a nice young couple and it was a true honor to help them have a happy ending to the story of The Lost Ring.
