Earring lost at Washington Park in Denver recovered
Sunday night I received a message from Molly stating that she had lost an earring while playing volleyball at a local park. Her grandmother had given her this pair of earrings, so they held a high sentimental value to her. During the game her ear got caught up in the net and pulled the earring off. The people she was playing with stopped and searched for the earring but only found the back of the earring. Molly then purchased a detector and spent a couple of hours more searching with it but had no luck recovering the earring.
I met her the next morning, the temperature was in the low 40’s and it was raining. Molly led me to the location of the volleyball court (marked out with a pile of mushrooms) and explained how the earring went missing and where she had found the earring back. She handed me the remaining earring and then departed as she had to work.
I set up my metal detector, tested the earring and then waited for the rain to let up a bit. After a brief search I heard a good signal, it read just like the test earring and there sticking out of the mud was a hint of gold.
Molly was very happy to get her earrings back.
