… Chris had put his diamond stud earring in his pocket while he was watching a soccer game at a park in Irvine, CA.. As he was getting into his car he realized his stud earring was not in his pocket. It must have been pulled out while removing his celphone to take pictures.

He called me to help and we met the next morning. He brought the matching earring for me to check with my detector. This sample earring did not have a backing and I was unable to get a signal with my best small item metal detector. Two other negative problems were not looking good for a successful recovery.

The grass had already been mowed and he showed me a large area where he had been the of the loss. Chris wanted to call off the search. I suggested that we give it a 30 minute try as we were already at the location.

After a few minutes under almost impossible conditions we found his super small diamond stud earring visually. I know from past searches that these recoveries are not always found using a metal detector. We were already at the location, why not give it a try. That’s how we can make a miracle happen.

Lost Car Key Fob on Hiking Trail … Found and Returned .. Costa Mesa, CA.

I Helped Andy find his key fob, I am available to help you, if you lost an item that can be found with a metal detector.. Call or Text Stan the Metal Detector Man .. 949-500-2136

*** Andy lost his electronic car key fob while hiking on a local hiking trail near his home in Costa Mesa, CA.

He called me for help after looking for two days. We decided that it has to be hiding out of sight. Which is a perfect situation to use a metal detector. It does help to hear his story to determine if we can use a metal detector.

He had strayed off the trail one time to pick up some trash. This was where he thought the fob could have slipped from his hand. When we got to the general area, he pointed out a bush that he recognized as the spot where the trash had been.

We did find the key fob, but it was not near the bush. It was near a bush 30 feet away from where he thought he picked up the trash. Happens all the time, I always know, that after a person leaves the site of the loss, it is difficult to get back to the same location. We call it searching outside the box.

It was a pleasure to help Andy, and I know it saved him a lot of time and expense. I got to see a happy guy that was relieved to have his lost item returned.

*** I was in my car returning from another ring recovery when Zoë called me. I’m glad it was not a text because I can’t read texts while driving. My Bluetooth in my car makes it safe to answer calls.

ZOE said she and her husband were at Salt Creek Beach, where they just lost her husband’s platinum ring in the sand. I told them I was on the road with my metal detecting gear and could be there as soon as possible. If they could wait? We should be able to find the ring in a short period of time. If they had other commitments ? I would like the to mark the area, take a few photos of the general location and use their smart phone to drop a pin on their maps app.

They were able to stay even though it started to rain. A few minutes after arriving, it stopped raining and I was able to find the platinum ring. As usual people are impressed at how well the service works. Nowadays, it’s all about technology, cellphone communication, internet, state of the art technology . It was a pleasure to be available to help this nice couple.

*** I got a text from Anthony about an gold diamond engagement ring lost at Santa Monica beach near the pier. It was already 8pm almost too late to make the hour drive to that beach. I texted him back saying, it was important to discuss the circumstances of the loss as soon as possible. That beach is heavily hunted by metal detectorists especially on weekends.

We were able to determine the ring was definitely on Maria’s towel. They were on their way home when Maria realized she had not put the engagement ring back on her finger. Many times I will try a search without the people can’t meet me at the beach. The best information he gave me was that they were not sitting on the towel line. probably the most hunted zones on the beach. I told Anthony that our odds would be better if they could meet me tomorrow, Sunday morning and he agreed.

I was on the beach a day break to start gridding the search area. The Santa Monica  beach crew only pulled a grooming rake with a tractor that morning. Other beaches run their Beach King sifting machine everyday in the summer.

The ring had not shown after an hour of running a tight grid pattern using the verbal directions given to me on our call last night. Then Anthony and Maria walked up to me on the beach. They pointed out a trash can that they were near. I was almost there but they we’re actually way back from the towel line. I moved over about 10 or 15 yards and shortly after starting a new grid pattern I got the signal. The signal is a solid tone in my headphones that happens when a white gold diamond engagement ring is under my detector coil. And one dig with my sand scoop, revealed Maria’s awesome engagement ring. A happy couple drove home with the ring they thought was lost forever.

***  Marie called me after realizing her heirloom gold and diamond ring was missing after doing some gardening. She had actually removed some of the overgrown ivy in a small town house planter. She was sure that the ring must be in the box of ivy leaves, but she could not find this ring that had been past down to her from her mother.

She found my service on line after trying to get an idea of how to search for a gold ring. I was able to meet her an hour after she talked to me. We could have done the search the next day, but I felt she didn’t need to worry about the loss any more time than necessary.

When Marie showed me the small box of ivy leaves, I past my small handheld metal detector over it without getting any metal signal. She looked very disappointed as she was positive the ring had to be there. I asked her a few questions and that’s when she told me she had originally put the ivy into a trash bag before transferring the trimmings in the box. The trash bag had just a small amount of top soil in the bottom. I quickly pasted my handheld pinpointer metal detector under the plastic trash bag and Boom !! It gave a great signal which turned out to be Marie’s missing ring. She was so happy that she didn’t give up and was able to find someone who could help her. She then told me that she had thrown two other containers of leaves in a big trash dumpster for the whole complex of townhouses.  After hearing the other possible areas of the loss, I was happy I didn’t have to go into that dumpster.
