Volleyball Gold lost at Kits Beach…4 year anniversary not far away!
Volleyball Gold lost at Kits Beach…4 year anniversary not far away!
I received the call for help at 2:30 pm and we discussed the search, it was fireworks night and I knew I had to search for her ring ASAP.
She lost her Gold and Opal ring that was given to her by her Grandmother…She lost it when she went to high five her friend early in the morning at Sunset Beach…
With little hope of finding the ring they stumble across a Lifeguard the next day who gives them my number and a second chance.
Fireworks attract hundreds of thousands of people and I knew I didn’t get out there soon it would be hard to find parking.
I rushed out to the beach and met the young lady who showed me the area. I started my grid search and I was finding lots of junk and after maybe 10 minutes I got a loud signal and out of the sand popped out her beautiful gold and opal ring.
I love my job!

Late night search for a gold signet ring lost in the grass by Sunset Beach…
Someone posted a lost & found ad about a lost signet ring and gave such a good description of the area it was lost at that it tempted me to go out at midnight to take a look for it.
I replied to the post but never heard back so I packed my gear and headed out. Without the person to be there its a bit of a challenge but I do like a challenge!
When I arrived to the spot I decide to search from east to west…I’d say lucky choice as within 10 minutes I got a good strong signal and turned on my flashlight and kicked the grass to see gold! It was the signet ring!
When I got back home I emailed the news of finding the ring and also sent a picture of the ring. The next morning we made arrangements to meet.
When we met he was very excited to get his ring back but unfortunately he didn’t want to do a video…It happens
He did tell me that he had the ring for over 20 years and it meant a lot to him to get it back.
I love my job!

Late night search for a lost gold signet ring from an ad posted in the lost and found. He gave such a good description of where the ring was lost and I found it in 10 minutes…Returned the next day.
A couple of days ago I got in touch with a lady who lost her gold ring while she was vacationing at Bear Mountain Resort in Victoria.
She told me that there were two different places that the ring could of come off her finger, but one place she felt was more likely then the other, and that was at Bear Mountain Resort.
She remembered walking her dog by the golf course(not on the course) near her hotel. Her dog did its business and Lisa unwrapped the lease from around her left hand to clean up, this was the most likely place that she could think the ring could have come off.
We talked for some time and I could tell that this ring meant the world to her! I found out later that the ring was a gift from her Aunt and it was her most cherished passion.
I decided that I would go to the resort to take a look, Lisa made arrangements with the club and we got the green light. The next step was to get Lisa to draw me a map…And she did just that, it was a great map and it gave me a good idea where to look and how to do the grid.
I set the alarm for 3:30 AM and off I went to catch a ferry to Victoria Island. I arrived and started the search around 9 AM.
After hitting the spots and no luck I decided to work the area from her patio to the gravel road.
It was pushing 3 hours and all I had to show was 10 golf balls.
Then in an area of green long grass(most of the grass was brown) I received a great hit on my detector! I slowly bent down and moved the grass to see a beautiful ring with all colored stones looking back at me! You’ll never see my immediate reaction but I’ll tell you it makes me give a little Ya! Ha!
I walked back to pro shop to thank the man who let me search the course and showed him the ring. I found a caddy and gave him the golf balls then I made the call to Lisa.
If you knew me you’d know that I’m a bit of a prankster, I told Lisa that I did everything I could but I was packing up and heading home. I said that this would give her closure.
The phone was silent, I then said closure that I found your ring…
She replied »What »!! I told her that I found her ring and I was coming back to Vancouver to drop it off to her…Well she lost it! She cried for a couple of minutes on the phone…I have the best job in the world! I can make people happy!
I love my job!

Lost diamond engagement ring at Jericho Beach, Vancouver…Found
I received a call from a young lady at around 6 pm on a Thursday, she tells me that she had lost a watch and that it could be in a couple of areas on the beach where she was playing volleyball and Frisbee.
I was still at work and working until 10 pm so I explained that I could come out after work and meet her to look for the watch.
She was a little skeptical that I could find her watch at night, I assured her that it didn’t mater if it was day or night, if we waited to long to search for her watch, the beach machine that cleans the beach could scoop it up and it would be lost forever.
I meet Kailun at 11 pm and she was with her parents, she walked me out and showed me the area that the watch could be lost at…I knew that it would take a bit of time to do a grid search so I told her that she could go home and that I would call her in the morning to let her know if I found the watch or not.
When the person doesn’t know where the item came off it becomes a treasure hunt! I know that its out there… but where?
I started my search at the volleyball court but nothing, I then started my grid search in the area she and her friends were playing Frisbee, after almost an complete north/south grid and close to an hour and a half I was only a few more lines from the end of the grid area when I got a good loud signal… It was the watch!
I have to say I was very happy I found the watch as I was getting really tired, I’m not sure if I would’ve been able to do the east/west grid.
I called the young lady and told her the good news the next morning…
I love my job!
