Lost white gold and diamond engagement ring, Hamburg, New Jersey

Mason and his family were at a bar-b-cue at a friend’s house in Hamburg,NJ.His Wife’s engagement ring was lost on the front lawn. At that point is was all hands on deck and he and his friends searched without finding the ring.
His friend had an entry level metal detector and they looked for the ring the next day without finding it again.
After locating me on the Ringfinders website we arranged to meet at the site.
They had a good idea of the area the Ring was lost in. I began my grid search of the lawn and found the ring after 45 minutes. His wife was certain she would never see the ring again, so you could imagine the joy its’ recovery caused the whole family. It is so satisfying to return a precious lost item to someone who has lost hope in ever seeing the item again. Like I told Mason at the start, “If the ring is here, I will find it !”

Newlywed’s Honeymoon Happily Continues at Sunset Beach, NC

Howard called me around 11 a.m. saying he had lost his wedding band, and asked if I could help find it. He continued by saying he had lost it in a big clump of grass and hadn’t been able to locate it. He further told me he was at the Sandpiper Bay Golf and Country Club at Sunset Beach, NC. I told him I’d be there in about 30 minutes.

On my drive up there, I’m thinking he may have lost it on the golf course and was hoping he had a good idea of exactly where it came off his finger. I ended up at the community club house instead of the golf course club house and asked a lady where the course club house was. She asked if I was the ring guy, after replying in the affirmative, she said that her husband was the one that lost his ring. Luckily, he had lost his ring in the landscaping Saw grass around the pool area in about a 5 ft square area. Rachelle and I introduced ourselves, and as we’re walking to the area she said that they had gotten married 2 weeks ago and that he’s had his ring for 2 days. We met up with Howard and he said that the ring was a little tight. He also said that he’s not use to wearing jewelry, so he had the ring about half way on his finger when it fell off. He heard the ring hit the cement, saw it bounce, and then disappear in the grass. I grabbed my AT PRO and started running it over the top of the grass where he thought it was. He told me it was a 14K gold wedding band, so I knew I’d be looking for a VDI (visual display indicator) number in the high 50s. After going over his suspected area a couple of times, I moved down the sidewalk, and about a yard or so I got a solid 57 on the detector. Visually, I couldn’t see anything so I used my pin pointer and BANG, found it buried deep in the grass. I pulled it out, wiped it off, and stuck it up for him to grab. He was flabbergasted that he had it back, he told me he had just about given up on finding it. Rachelle gave out a woo hoo shout. Honeymoon was saved.

Hearing Aid Found and Returned in Brewster, Cape Cod, MA

It was not my grandmother’s hearing aid. It was super small, no wires, Bluetooth enabled and lost.

It took two detectorists from TheRingFinders to locate a “lost” hearing aid, one that others had no luck in locating. Denis, Anne, neighbors, friends and even the sales person of the hearing aid did not eyeball the lost left hearing aid. Denis with his Bluetooth enabled hearing aid on had been out listening to The Beatles Here Comes The Sun while leaf blowing his front yard. After finishing up an early leaf fall and back in his house he noticed the left aid was missing. The noise from the leaf blower masked the missing music. With the aid of a new detector with a visual indication of the type of metals along with an audio sound, it took me about a half an hour to be fortune enough to hear the signal response of the aid’s battery among all the not so possible signal returns. With a bit of help from a flash light the hearing aid came into view among a bit of tall grass under which it had been hiding from other prying eyes. I surmised that a tree’s branch had brushed the hearing aid from Denis’s left ear which lead to the search. The initial request for help in finding the lost hearing aid came to me from J&E Metal Detectors. I was in the middle of having roof work done on my house and being unsure if I would be able to do a search before darkness fell, I called on Luke for a bit of assistance. As it turned out Luke and I showed up about two minutes apart. Many magnificent people all came together to help in the search and return. My hobby allows me to meet such wonderful people, and friendships I and others can count on in time of need.

Lost Gold Wedding Band at Naia Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I was hunting the lagoon waters with my Equinox. I was approached by a gentleman named Alex from Ukraine who lost his gold wedding band in the dry sand seating area of Naia Lagoon. He asked if I would attempt to find his ring as six adults scoured the area with no luck the previous day. Of course I said and we went up to the area. Alex drew an approximate grid in the dry sand and I started the hunt. After a pull tab I got a nice tone and there in the scoop was Alex’s ring. Elapsed time three minutes. Alex was surprised by the speedy recovery and was very appreciative of the service. Vacation saved. Aloha to Alex.

A Birthday To Remember!

This pictured lady had a birthday party for her son last Saturday out in the yard. As rain started to come down she was hurrying to gather the children and during the rush her ring came off. When I talked with her she said the ring was a silver one. I went by Sunday and searched a bit looking for silver signals on the MXT but more heavy rain came thru the area hampering the search.
As we got to talking about when to search again, I asked again what material the ring was and asked her if she had any paperwork on the ring. So today when we met she showed me that the ring was gold but silver colored! So now I would be looking for the numbers where white gold shows up on the MXT. I’ve always tried to include the children on my hunts when possible and I noticed the pictured lil’ guy taking a keen interest. After grid searching most of the area I finally got a +14 +16 signal at 0 depth.
As the Garrett carrot neared the ground surface it gave that warm, inviting vibration that said I’m here! So just down in the grass a bit this stunning white gold ring with diamonds sparkled up at me! Her son was thrilled to be my helper and as you can see I now have an expert pin pointer and future treasure hunter in the making! Mom couldn’t believe I found her ring, her smile tells the story and recovering it brought an extra joy to a birthday to remember!

Beautiful ring lost in river found!

Well, it happened again. I was contacted by a young lady over a month ago and she tells me that she lost her ring while canoeing the little Hocking river on July 31st. With all the rain we have had, it took until today before it was slow enough for us to make the trip. This hunt was the toughest yet. The water was fast and cold! Well, here is her story of the days events!

On March 21, 2017 my sister in law (The Original Katie Kittle) took her life. She was an amazing person and the life of the party. Since she passed I have been wearing three of her rings (I had them soldered together). I cherished being able to have something of hers with me every day. During a canoe trip with my friends on July 31, 2018 my canoe tipped and I lost Katie’s ring. I was devastated and heart broken. I’ve had many sleepless nights and I was calling all the local canoe liveries on a regular basis to see if anyone had found it. When I called in August the canoe livery told me about a man who had just found a woman’s wedding ring and about the website theringfinders.com. I immediately went to the website and found Steve Wagner. 68 days after loosing Katie’s ring Steve, myself, and my friend Joselyn took the same canoe trip. Joselyn and I showed him where we tipped and using his metal detector and other tools he found my invaluable ring in less than 2 hrs. Words can not express my gratitude and amazement for this wonderful and caring man. Thank you Steve Wagner!

Lost Earring Queen Elizabeth Park Edmonton, Alberta (Found)

I received a call from Annette yesterday requesting my service to help her locate an earring that had been lost Wednesday in the park. We agreed to meet this morning.

When I met up with Annette  she said the earrings were very special to her as they were hand made in South Africa and had sentimental value to her.  Annette showed me the area where she had been walking , and that was now covered in fallen autumn leaves  just like her lost earring.

After about a 1  1/2hour search her earring was found and Annette was very happy to have her missing earring back in her possession.

Cell Phone Lost in North Myrtle Beach SC, Found and Returned

On Wednesday, Sept 26th, I was out doing a little metal detecting on my own and not finding a whole lot. I suddenly got a solid signal with a VDI of 32 on my Equinox 800. Pretty sure I had found a cell phone, I carefully dug a big hole so I wouldn’t damage the phone. Sure enough, I found a Samsung Galaxy S8 about 4 to 5 inches deep in the wet sand. It wasn’t damaged, but it wasn’t powering up either. So, the phone either had a dead battery or was shot from being submerged.

When I got home I pulled the case off and cleaned it up. Not knowing how long it’d been in the sand, I didn’t want to plug it in and set it aside to dry out. In the meantime, I contacted an acquaintance at Verizon and gave him the IMEI number off the back of the phone. With that number, he can look it up and be able to see if the phone belongs to a Verizon customer. If he has a match, he’ll contact the owner and have them call me. I got lucky with this one. I hate not being able to find the phone’s owner, 1-I have no use for somebody else’s phone, and 2-I’m sure the owner has pictures or other information they don’t want to lose.

It was a week before Eric, from Maryland, contacted me about his phone, I had actually forgotten about it. I told him that I had taken his phone to Verizon and we weren’t able to power it up or charge it. However, we were able to get his SIM card out of the phone and we taped it to the front of the phone. He said he had a large number of contacts on the phone that he hadn’t backed up to the Cloud so he was very grateful his phone was found. I got his address and sent his phone home.

Ring found in front yard in Grand Rapids, MI.

Jason was working on the eaves of his house when his wedding ring came up missing.  He remembered shaking his hand to remove a glove and thought that was when the ring was lost.  I checked that area thoroughly with no results.  Then he mentioned he washed his hands by the side of the house with the water hose–and that is where I found his ring.  It was close to a woven wire fence which made detecting it a little tough by giving me mixed signals.  I had Jason using my pinpointer and digger to check on signals I received and he dug up a couple of coins and some other junk.  When I found his ring I covered it up with grass and called him over and let him recover the prize.  Jason’s neighbor and a friend were present and we all enjoyed the good news when the ring was found.

Lost Gold Wedding Band at Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon Waikiki…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a call from Ondrej from Albany New York who just got married in Hawaii. After the wedding while swimming with his lovely bride Tamara in the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon at the Hilton Hawaiian Village his ring came off in about 7 feet of water. This lagoon is used by guests constantly and if you don’t get there early it gets completely silted up to the point of zero visibility. Also that depth requires scuba to do a thorough search. We agreed to meet the next morning at 6:30 to be sure to beat the crowd. When I arrived the next morning Ondrej & I were shocked to see the lagoon was more then half way drained for cleaning. The seven foot depth area was now only waist deep at the most. The orientation was way off to determine whereabouts they were swimming but we made a best guess and I started a grid search. I didn’t bring my scoop as I fully intended to do this hunt on scuba. I had my waterproof pin-pointer to help with my hand retrieval. After about 30 minutes and a few coin targets I got a nice tone on my Excal. I started pin-pointing and in the waist deep and crystal clear water the probe pushed the ring up from the silt and the rising sun glinted off the gold. Awesome I thought no scoop required. I reached in pulled out the ring and asked Ondrej, « Is this your ring? » Utter amazement as Ondrej and Tamara each gave me a hug. As often as this happens it means so much. Honeymoon saved!
