Monterey state beach ring lost & found

The persons from the prior post , (last night’s hunt) were able to now give a little of the back-story.  Thank you for allowing me to add that to my page.    (And thank you to the R.F. website host/designer for bringing the people together ) Here it is :

« … My stepdad lost his ring while playing football on the beach. It wasn’t just any ring.. My mom had customized it and gave it to him a few years ago. My mom had been battling cancer, and she passed away earlier this month, so losing the ring was honestly devastating for our family. We only had an hour before sunset and we weren’t far from the shoreline! With the tide, the fading light, and such a huge beach, we honestly felt completely doomed and thought there was no chance we’d ever see it again…until I called you.

What you did for us means more than I can put into words. Thank you for taking the time, effort, and care to help find something so deeply sentimental and irreplaceable. You gave my stepdad a piece of her back, and we’ll never forget that.

We are beyond grateful for your kindness and for the work you do helping people recover things that mean so much to them. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts….. »

Seaside beach / Monterey state beach, ring found

Fellow was tossing a football back & forth on the Seaside beach hotel (Monterey State beach).   The guy felt his ring fly off, in the direction he’d been tossing.  But couldn’t tell if it had gone straight down (at his feet area) versus « been launched afar ».  And since dry sand immediately swallows, it was immediately invisible, no matter where they looked.    After awhile, on their hands & knees, raking with their fingers, they found the Ringfinders directory.

 

I was able to be there within 20 minutes.  And within 5 minutes after that, Bingo !

 

Glad to help you folks.   You explained that this was a recently passed-down heirloom from your grandparents.   That made it all the more special !   And thanks for the tip.

Seacliff Beach, lost ring found

Mark (also on the directory here) and I got a call from « Katie ».   Yesterday she had been walking hand-in-hand with her youngest kid (seen the pix)  at Seacliff Beach.  Her youngster was pulling on mom’s hand, while they walked the beach.   Suddenly Katie realized she no longer had her ring on.   And theorized that her kid had probably inadvertently pulled mom’s ring off.    So they had a general idea of where it was (within a 2 minute walk-span-time).

 

45 minutes later , we got the beep we were waiting for.  🙂  The heirloom is safe back in the family !   Glad we could help you folks.   Another fun hunt, and :  Thanx for the tip.

Garrapata beach, south of Carmel, ring found

Got a call from a gentleman who lost his wife’s ring on Garrapata beach, ~ 20 minutes south of Carmel, CA.   Had put it in his jacket pocket for « safe keeping ».   But later had taken off the jacket and bundled it up to carry .  And , although they didn’t realize the ring was missing till they’d arrived back at their Monterey hotel, yet figured it probably fell out of the pocket while on-the-beach.   Their suspicions and approx. location were correct.

 

A platinum band surrounded with diamonds.   They can now return to southern CA with their ring safely back in their possession.  Glad I could help you guys !  Thanx for the generous tip.

 

 

Also, it came to my attention that he didn’t get referred to this service through « Ringfinders » website/directory necessarily.  But instead had come up in chat AI search results, with merely my name.  But I assume that EVEN THAT is a result of the ring-finders’ directory key-word search , that fuels AI search results.  So I assume this is still essentially from the RF website system results.

Ring recovery in Monterey, CA

Got a call from Samantha.   She had been walking with friends through the downtown tourist district at night.  And … at a point…. stopped to make a frolicking motion with her arms and hands.   She felt all 4 rings, on one of her hands, fly off.   They got flashlight, and were able to find 3 of the 4 rings (on street, sidewalk, and grass parking strip).   But the 4th one (a 3/4 carot diamond no less) eluded them.   They suspected it was in one of two landscapes right closeby , obscured from view by grass or vegetation.     Met her last night, and went to work.   Within 5 minutes, her suspicion was correct :   Right there in the grassy median.   Glad to help you Samantha !  Enjoy the rest of  your conference meetings here and your visit here to Monterey.   And thanks for the tip.

Carmel Beach ring lost, then found

Was able to help Leiana & her husband recover their lost ring on Carmel Beach.   She had gotten up from their beach blanket area, and was brushing the sand off their beach chairs, towels, etc…   And saw her ring launch, off yonder, to the dry sand.  Which immediately swallowed up her gold ring, hiding it from view.   They had an approx . area, where they suspected it flew off too.

Carmel Beach ring found

Got a call from a couple, visiting from Miami, to Carmel beach .  She went to shake the sand off her fingers, and felt the brand new engagement ring fling off her finger (d/t they just got engaged, and the ring hadn’t been properly sized yet to-her-finger size).    They knew an approx. area where they’d seen it launch to, but the dry sand swallowed it.  Invisible now despite ample efforts raking the sand with their fingers.

Santa Cruz ring lost and now found

Got a call from Andrew, who had been on « Hole in the Wall beach », just north of Santa Cruz.   Lost his platinum ring.  Had an idea of the approx area, but …. no matter how much hand-sifting and shoveling they did, could not find it.     Was able to help Andrew and his wife recover it.   Nice meeting you Andrew, and thanx for the tip.

Carmel Beach ring found / recovered

Got a call from a fellow who lost his hefty 18K gold band.   He had been tossing a ball around with some friends on Carmel Beach.  And actually SAW the ring launch (or felt it leave his finger or whatever).   But alas, the dry sand « swallows » it.   All he has is an approximate area where he suspects it landed in.   But … No amount of hand sifting is working.

 

This one was child’s play for a metal detector, since there was no mistaking that it had been lost there (versus someone who only notices at the end of a long day, etc…).   And because he was confident of the zone.   And sure enough, it was right where he suspected.   The first « beep » after swinging the coil around.  Doh !
