This ring find began last evening when I got a text from Emil from Poland, who was on his honeymoon with his lovely wife Natalia. He wrote, « Hi, we need some help finding a ring that was lost in the ocean (Oahu). The ring was taken by a wave when we were washing our hands in the water, so it wasn’t actually lost on the beach. Would you be able to help us search for it? » Emil told me he was using a translator which was actually doing quite well. After he sent me a few pics I realized it was Hale Koa. We agreed to meet the next morning at low tide. I went a bit early as to get parking and headed down the beach to Hale Koa. I was able to line up the pics to start the search on the wet slope. An occasional swell would crash and knock me around but I was able to push through. I found a few pull tabs and a penny. About 10 minutes into the hunt I got a decent low tone and started to dig. It took about five scoops to get the target and there was Emil’s shiny gold ring in the scoop. I texted him a pic and he replied he was about 15 minutes away. When Emil & Natalia arrived they were so grateful and said the honeymoon was saved. I wished them the best for their honeymoon vacation and assured them they were blessed! Aloha to Emil & Natalia!

Here’s a little bit about us for your blog.
We’re Emil and Natalia, both 26, from Poland. We’ve known each other since school and have been together for over seven years.
This trip has been very special for us. We started our journey in New York, then went to Las Vegas, where we got married. After that, we traveled through the canyons, drove along Route 66, and spent some time in Los Angeles. Our final stop was Hawaii for our honeymoon.
On our first day in Hawaii, before even checking into our hotel, we went straight to the beach because we wanted to see the ocean and “say hello” to the island. While I was standing at the shoreline and washing my fingers in the water, a wave pulled my wedding ring off my finger and carried it into the ocean.
We were really worried, especially because we had only just gotten married. We were incredibly lucky to find you and have you help us recover it.
We’re also really happy to know that there are good people like you in the world – people who are willing to help complete strangers from the other side of the world. It means a lot to us, and we’ll always remember your kindness.
