Had a really cool recovery today. Vic contacted me about his mother losing her wedding band that she has had for 56 years. She recently recovered from cancer and had lost a lot of weight and it slipped right off. She didn’t know if it was in the dry sand or when she was looking for shells in the surf. Took me about two hours of searching I had to wait for some people to move and when they did I searched their area and it was in the sand that they were using to weigh down their tent. Needless to say it’s always great to give it back and she was over the moon. They are leaving tomorrow for Azerbaijan.

Howard Metts contacted Robert Clarke Sunday evening, January 9th in regards to a lost diamond tennis bracelet in the sand on Clearwater Beach. Robert advised he could respond and contacted Leslie, the owner of the missing tennis bracelet, got her exact location on Clearwater beach and headed that way. Robert met Leslie and her son near Tower 1 on Clearwater beach where she explained while throwing a football around with her family she felt her diamond tennis bracelet come off. They were able to find SRARC and ringfinders thru the internet and called Howard. Smartly, Leslie stayed in the exact spot where she felt the bracelet come off. Robert started detecting at that spot and within one minute got a faint “1” signal on his Nox, took out his pin pointer and on the first sweep, the pin pointer hit the necklace, revealing it in the sand just below the surface. Leslie was overjoyed, crying with happiness, believing she would never see the necklace again and gave Robert a big hug and kiss on the check. Another successful SRARC jewelry recovery!

Josh and his brother Luke were down from Canada to visit their cousins. They decided to visit Clearwater Beach, and after a round of football in the water, Josh realized that his custom-made class ring was no longer on his finger! He went to talk to the lifeguard, who provided him with the contact info for the Suncoast Research and Recovery Club, SRARC.com. While Josh kept a close eye on the area of the suspected loss, Bill Gallant and Mike Shuler loaded up and rushed to Clearwater Beach. They met up with Josh, who directed the hunters into the water, which was now shoulder-deep because of the incoming tide. Within 15 minutes, Josh was looking into the sand scoop at the ring he admitted he had very little hope of seeing again! This was the last day of Josh’s visit, so we’re glad SRARC could help him enjoy the rest of his time here, and return home with the ring that means so much to him!

After spilling a drink on his hands, they became sticky and sand got under his wedding band. He removed it to wash his hands and didn’t realize until much later that he no longer had the ring with him! After returning to the site and raking through the sand with no luck, he turned to the internet to look into renting a metal detector. While he was searching, he discovered SRARC. He got in touch with club president Howard Metts, who put out a notice to the club’s Ringfinder members. Rob Clarke and Mike Shuler arranged to meet Bill at the spot where he remembered setting down his ring. Rob and Mike started gridding the area, and in less than 10 minutes, Bill was reunited with his ring!

Don and his wife were vacationing on Clearwater Beach when Don realized his wedding ring was missing. He had been in the water but may have lost it on the beach while in the dry sand. They were given our SRARC Ringfinder info from the Life Guard on duty and contacted Howard Metts several days latter. A hunt was scheduled with Rob Clarke, Howard Metts, Joe Montione, Pat Montione, and Ed Osmar responding. They hunted the dry sand for an hour with no luck. The team hunted the water for another hour before Howard came up with the ring. Howard mailed the ring to Seattle Washington and Don sent back a photo with the ring back on his finger again. Great job team!
