Tungsten Wedding Band Lost in the Sand - Found and Returned Myrtle Beach SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

James called me about 5:30pm tonight saying he lost his wedding band in the sand and wondered if I was available to help find it. While we were talking I found out the resort they were staying at was in Myrtle Beach which is TRF Matt Fry’s area. I called Matt and he told me to go ahead and take the call.

Got to the location in about 25 minutes and met James and his wife Angelia on the beach who are vacationing with their family from Canada. James pointed out the area and I started my grid search. About half way through my second pass I get the « tone ». Bingo, dug a scoop and saw his ring laying in the sand, picked it up, blew it off and handed it back to James. Their excitement of getting his ring back is what it’s all about.

James and Angelia, thank you very much for trusting in me to help find your ring and your generous gift. Have a very safe trip home tomorrow!!

Jim

After having met Jim, I’m not surprised at how he downplays such an important find, given my family and I were returning to Canada 12 hours later so there was absolutely no flexibility in the search. Or that he was there 25 minutes after I contacted him. Or that it was his wedding anniversary that day and that he was just about out the door for a celebratory dinner with his wife of 43 years and put everything on pause to help a complete stranger who happened across his name online.

Jim, we cannot say thank you enough again for your help during this minor crisis. Our apologies again to you and « Mrs. Jim » for catching you on your anniversary. And we’ve made sure the hotel is well aware of TRF in the event of any future similar situations from their guests.
