  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Tony’s wife’s 14 karat yellow gold classic wedding band that was thrown off the second story level of the couple’s Stafford, Virginia house.

Tony contacted me because he and his wife ended up in a fight which eventually ended up with his spouse opening up the second level French doors that face the back of the house and throwing her 14 karat yellow gold classic wedding band. Originally Tony wanted to rent a metal detector but I eventually talked him out of it. I shared with my client that so many people are unsuccessful when using a rented machine or a bought detector because they are not familiar with using the device. Money and time is waisted often by people who think they can just pick up a metal detector and find what they are looking for. Tony felt very comfortable with me and felt confident that my expertise would be the best solution in recovering his wife’s lost sentimental keepsake.

Two days later, I arrived at Tony’s Stafford, Virginia house in order to conduct the ring search. First, my client took me out to the backyard and showed me where his spouse threw the ring from the second level of the house. Next, once I got an understanding of the rear lawn layout, I returned to my vehicle and wheeled my wagon full of metal detecting gear out to the backyard and immediately began the search.

I’m excited to share that less than an hour later, I was able to successfully recover Tony’s wife’s very special wedding band! I did a systematic grid search and eventually I got a very curious signal on my detector screen that gave all of the right indications that I might have found the lost piece of gold jewelry. Next, I analyzed the ground with my pinpointer, and beneath a few blades of grass, buried partially down in the mud, there it was…a beautiful « halo » of precious yellow gold!

I was so very happy for Tony and his beloved wife who would soon be wearing her very precious sentimental keepsake once again! My client could not have been more relieved by the news that I shared with him upon reaching his front door when I gave him the encouraging search update!

With a big smile on Tony’s face, he said to me with much gratitude exuding from his countenance, « I sure am glad that I hired you instead of renting a metal detector! »

Scuba Diver Metal Detectorist Recovers Lost Diamond Engagement Ring in Chesapeake Bay…Glen Burnie, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Megan’s beautiful 14 carat white gold 1.75 carat oval shaped diamond engagement ring with a halo of smaller diamonds encircling around the entire solitaire stone and additional diamonds surrounding around half of the band. The other ring is made of sterling silver with CZ stones encircling the band.

Sean and Megan celebrating the most incredible surprise that member of THE RING FINDERS, Brian Rudolph, delivered to his clients shortly after scuba diving and metal detecting Megan’s lost diamond engagement ring and sterling silver ring in the Chesapeake Bay located in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

An engaged couple, Megan and Sean, were out on a boat for the day with some friends in the Glen Burnie, Maryland area (a suburb of Baltimore, Maryland). Even though Megan was extremely careful to protect her rings in the boat while they were all swimming earlier in the day, upon walking across their friend’s dock when they returned to shore, she lost two out of her four rings which fell out of a container when its lid flew off. One of the two rings that took to flight onto the dock and then into the water happened to be the most important material possession in Megan’s life – her 14 carat white gold 1.75 carat oval shaped diamond engagement ring with a halo of smaller diamonds encircling around the entire solitaire stone, as well as additional diamonds surrounding around half of the band. The other ring was a sterling silver band with CZ stones.

Megan desperately tried to catch the rings as they fell onto the dock but it was too late. The two of them just could not be accounted for. Sean, with urgency, jumped into the water (which was approximately 5 feet deep) and he desperately searched with a strainer or something in an attempt to recover the jewelry. Sadly, his efforts led to no avail.

With no other answer in sight, the couple looked online and they discovered a glimmer of hope…THE RING FINDERS! It’s an international directory listing metal detecting specialists all over the world! I happened to be the one who they called for help. Because I do underwater metal detecting and I am a certified scuba diver, the couple contacted me to seek my assistance in helping them recover Megan’s lost rings.

Later that evening after finishing up another underwater recovery project, I headed out to Glen Burnie, Maryland and met up with Megan, Sean and their friends who owned the dock and the property leading down to the water. They were all so very nice people. They showed me where the incident happened and Megan reenacted the whole ordeal from start to finish.

As soon as I got the full picture as to what we were dealing with, I waded the water as it was closer to low tide and so I was able to keep my head above the tributary water of the Chesapeake Bay and that of the Patapsco River.

None of my metal detecting efforts proved to be successful that night because I did not have a sand scoop with me at the time to bring up some of the targets I scanned. I only had underwater scuba gear with very little air in my tanks from my previous search. Therefore, I would have to return the next morning.

Early the next day, I returned back to the site to see if I could continue wading the water with my metal detecting sand scoop in order to be able to retrieve potential metal targets. Unfortunately, I encountered yet another obstacle – the low tide that morning turned out to be a super tide (based on the position of the moon and sun) which caused the water to be unordinarily high that day.

Because of the unusual high level of water that I was dealing with, I had to switch to using scuba gear. I only had a small amount of air left in my tanks (since I didn’t have the ability to fill them because all of the scuba shops were closed that Sunday or they didn’t open until 12pm). Regardless, I would see if I could safely use what I had left in the tanks and still keep my reserves.

The trek of hauling all of my dive equipment down to the bottom of the hill where the dock was located turned out to be an extremely daunting task. The hill was very steep and it was a very long way down the back side of the house which led to the dock. Nonetheless, I was able to transport the heavy gear down to the water and once again I attempted to find the important keepsakes at the bottom of the water. Unfortunately, I soon ran out of sufficient air in all of my tanks that I kept switching from one to another and that caused me to have to scrap yet another search effort. Sean and Megan were very understanding and I reassured them that I would return again soon with the necessary air supply and equipment to continue the search project.

The following day I drove back to the Chesapeake Bay to resume the search for third time. Because the water level drastically returned to normal status, I was able to wade the water while metal detecting for the jewelry. I spent nearly 8 hours or so in the water and I pulled up all kinds of items: bottle caps, pull tabs, fishing weights and lots more! Curiously though, I still could not find the two rings. I reported back to Sean via text messaging and showed him everything that I pulled up out of the water. I also encouraged him to « stay in the game » and to not be concerned that I did not find what we were looking for. Instead, I would return again shortly and continue my search efforts.

On my fourth day in a row out at the search site, I ended up bringing my hookah dive rig in order to provide me with unlimited air supply. Even though this was an effective way of keeping me down at the bottom of the water for large periods of time without having to keep switching from tank to tank with my scuba gear, there was another reason that I decided to go this route. Because I had spent the whole time in the water the previous day, I lost the opportunity to get my tanks filled at the dive shop. This was my best alternative.

My dive schedule was from 10am to 1pm that day and then I would return again at 6pm and dive until 8pm to continue the search. I was quite surprised that I still had no luck in finding the irreplaceable engagement ring and sterling silver ring that Megan and Sean so desperately wanted back. I searched all around the pilings and stretched out my underwater grid way passed the likely distance where the rings could have settled below. None of it made any sense to me but I was not going to give up the hunt in the least! Once again, I contacted Sean and reported to him everything that I did and all of the items that I continued to salvage from the bottom of the water. My client was clearly disappointed but he was also encouraged that I was not going to give up and that I was determined to find the jewels.

So far, I had invested 4 days of searching which amounted to 16 hours of search time, 528 miles of driving distance and 10 hours of drive time. And yet, as I shared above, I was not going to give up the fight. The diamond ring and sterling silver band were out there somewhere… just waiting to be discovered.

The next day I checked my schedule and corresponded with Sean as to when I could next get out to the search site to continue metal detecting. It turned out that my schedule was so booked up that I would not be able to return to that body of water for another 10 days. I knew this would not be easy for the couple to hear, but unfortunately I just didn’t have a single free day until the following week. My client agreed to wait and I told him that I greatly appreciated his patience and faith in my ability to recover the lost items.

10 days later, I was back at it again. I searched for another 12 hours and still I came out of the water with only trash. I couldn’t believe it! ‘What could have happened to those rings?’ I asked myself over and over again. I was utterly dumbfounded. I had searched multiple times under the dock, around all of the pilings and grid searched 15 feet from the dock out towards the middle of the water on both sides of the boards. And still I couldn’t come away with a single piece of lost precious metal. I metal detected as far out as I possibly could go, even to the point where I began metal detecting under the boat that was adjacent to the dock that I had been focused on the whole time. I was desperate and I searched « outside the box » on every level and yet I still could not find any success for my clients.

When that 12-hour day came to an end, in total, up to that point, with all of the set up, searching, take down and pack up time that I had expended thus far, it all added up to 30 hours of labor. Also, I had driven 670 miles to and from the site and racked up 12 hours of time on the road.

I dreaded having to call Sean and share the bad news with him. I really didn’t expect these lack of results for a search that seemed pretty cut and dry. However, as a professional metal detectorist, the searches we anticipate to be the easiest recoveries sometimes end up being the most perplexing of them all! This was certainly one of them.

Although we initially called it quits after that last scheduled 12 hour search day, I texted Sean back a day or two later and asked him if it would be okay for me to try again to find the rings just once more before I closed the book permanently on this unsolved mystery. Sean was quite happy that I was still willing to give it another try. He figured as I did that there was nothing to lose with me trying one more time.

I wanted to see if maybe the rings flew over to a section of the water where there were large pieces of metal lying at the bottom of the water. It was a spot that was almost impossible to detect based on the heavy content of aluminum and steel that could have been potentially « masking » the rings in that isolated region of the Bay.

Originally, I told Sean that if the rings ended up in that area, it would be impossible for me to recover them based on the hours that it would take to remove each and every piece of metal that was buried in that section. Regardless, I wanted to give it one more shot and see if just maybe I could metal detect just one small area of that giant cemetery of miscellaneous items and hope for the best.

Three days after the most recent search attempt, I headed out towards Glen Burnie once again. Regretfully, a terrible storm was moved through the area and I had to call off the search that particular day. Instead, I rescheduled my trip back out to the Bay three days later.

The next search attempt took place 4 days later. I planned to wade the water with my detector in hand, attempting to reach the neighbor’s boat lift piling where I wanted to detect a 3 foot by 3 foot area around the piling where my grid would not reach during the previous search. Also, I would scan over by the other adjacent neighbor’s jet ski platform where there was about a 3 foot gap that I didn’t detect before because I ran out of grid area to fit my PVC grid sections over in that space to investigate. As it turned out, I was not able to accomplish my objectives based on the high tide level that I experienced that particular day. Therefore, I was unable to wade the water at all during that time frame and I would have to reschedule another trip out yet again.

Even though I encountered another setback in my path while trying to wrap up the search and give it my all one last time, I was determined not to soak in despair over it. Instead, I would have to wait four more days before returning to the site to see what I could find in those couple of sections.

Four days passed by and I finally made it back out to the Glen Burnie water to try again to recover the lost rings. I stayed for about 3.5 hours and accomplished part of my objectives that I had planned for that particular morning. I initially thought I could finish everything up in a short period of time but there was just too much metal to detect in those two isolated regions that I had been focusing on.

When it was time to leave to go to my next client, I told Sean that I was committed to returning later that afternoon to wrap up what I had initially started earlier that day. I thought I could finish everything up in a short period of time but there was just too much metal to detect in those two isolated regions that I had been focusing on.

Later that same afternoon, I was able to get back into the water and metal detect the remaining areas that I started working on earlier that day. I brought all of my scuba diving equipment down to the water and all of my search time involved scuba detecting. I concentrated my efforts over by the neighbor’s boat lift where all of that excess metal was buried. It was completely overwhelming just how much work was involved in detecting piece after piece after piece of miscellaneous metal. However, I never gave up and I just kept pushing myself to keep the faith through the whole search process.

As it turned out, I am beyond excited to share that after burning a good amount of dive time below, just before I was about to call it quits for the very last time, I ended up getting another promising target signal. I pulled out my pinpointer to identify the exact location of where this one piece of metal was hiding (as I did each and every time that I had to salvage yet another piece of trash) and when I finally was able to handle the object between my fingers, my heart began to race faster and faster at that very moment. The small item that I was investigating happened to feel round in shape, with an empty space in the center of it – like a halo…like a ring! And that is exactly what it turned out to be! I couldn’t believe what I was looking at under the water at the bottom of the Bay! I found it! I found Megan’s incredibly exquisite diamond engagement ring! I could not comprehend what I was staring at in the murky water below! I was in a state of utter shock! In all of the time that I had been searching for the jewelry, I would end up finding the engagement ring in the most unexpected and the most difficult of places! I never gave up and I never gave in! I pushed myself harder and harder to continue searching for this irreplaceable keepsake and all of my unrelenting efforts led to finally discovering the lost buried treasure that I had been hoping to find all along!

Once I secured the piece of jewelry in my treasure bottle, I didn’t stop there. I decided to continue on and see if I could find the sterling silver ring somewhere in the same vicinity. And yes, a short time later, my hunch turned out to be « right on the money » once again! I excitedly found the second ring buried below the silt not too far from where I found the first one! My search was finally over! There was so much relief flowing through me! I just wanted to inflate my scuba BCD to acquire neutral buoyancy and just float on my back for awhile as I soaked in that incredible moment! Yes, I completed my mission and I couldn’t wait to share the exciting news with my beloved clients!

Later that evening, I drove a good long distance out into the country where Sean and Megan resided. If I were to say that I shocked the living daylights out of this couple when I surprised them with the beautiful diamond engagement ring (as well as the sterling silver band), I would be truly making a great understatement! The two of them were completely taken back by my visit and certainly even more amazed by the sight of what the couple both had concluded within their hearts that they would never see it ever again!

In total, I expended 35 hours of gear set up time, metal detecting and equipment pack up time, I traveled 1110 miles in round trip miles, and I racked up 16 hours of drive time.

I was extremely excited for what I was able to accomplish for my clients and I am certainly proud to be a member of THE RING FINDERS metal detectorist directory because of how I have the opportunity to help so many people just like Megan and Sean recover their most priceless jewelry that can never be replaced.

How to Metal Detect a Lost Sentry Home Safe Key

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Terrena’s Sentry Safe key that member of THE RING FINDERS and professional metal detectorist Brian Rudolph successfully found for his client.

Terrena of Germantown, Maryland happily holds up her very important key which Brian Rudolph was able to recover from his client’s front lawn. Terrena couldn’t have been happier that she hired Rudolph to conduct the key search!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Are you like one of thousands out there that have lost an important key that opens something extremely important to you? Perhaps you lost a key that unlocks a safe.

One of the most popular home safes available on the market today happens to be made by a company called Sentry Safes.

For decades families have locked away their valuables, documents, and even their cash in Sentry safes to prevent possible theft and to protect their property from potential fire damage and flooding.

Losing the little keys that open these affordable boxes can be extremely frustrating to replace and very time-consuming when it comes to trying to order these very important essentials.

So, if you lost a key that opens a Sentry safe or one that happens to fit some other vault, try this suggestion below:

1. Look online and search for THE RING FINDERS. This is a directory made up of metal detectorists who are familiar with searching for and finding lost keys and just about every type of jewelry.

2. Search on the directory for a detectorist listed in your area to help you find your missing property.

3. Schedule a time for the specialist to come out to the search site.

4. Sit back and let the metal detectorist do all of the work in finding that very important key that unlocks many sentimental keepsakes, special paperwork and maybe even significant financial savings.

An example of what I shared above took place with one of my clients not too long ago. Terrena lost her Sentry Safe key while walking outside the front of her house. She searched and searched but that little guy seemed to disappear into thin air in a matter of seconds. Two months of searching went by and still Terrena could not recover the key from her front property.

Eventually, the Germantown, Maryland woman searched on the internet for help and she immediately found THE RING FINDERS website. Then Terrena searched for the closest metal detectorist in her city and that’s when I was immediately contacted.

Sometime later that same day after the two of us talked on the phone, I headed out to Germantown, Maryland to conduct the search for the missing key. What took my client over two months of searching to find absolutely nothing, I utilized my detecting expertise and operated the finest metal detecting equipment in order to locate and recover Terrena’s very important key in less than 10 minutes! I found the metal item buried in the dirt just inches from the front walkway. The ecstatic woman was beyond grateful for the service that I was able to provide for her in lightning top speed!

So, I hope I was clear in answering how one metal detects a lost Sentry Safe key. The answer is simple: find an expert metal detectorist on THE RING FINDERS website… Terrena did, and it worked out for her!

Ocean City, Maryland’s « Ring Hero » Metal Detects Beach for Lost Wedding Ring…Found

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Steven’s tungsten carbide wedding ring that was lost on the beach in Ocean City, Maryland. Fortunately, Steven found THE RING FINDERS and metal detectorist, Brian Rudolph, known as THE RING HERO.

Steven excitedly showing off his cherished wedding band that his wife Samantha placed upon his finger on their wedding day just several years earlier. He couldn’t have been happier with the service that ring finder Brian Rudolph was able to provide.

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Steven was partying with his guy friends for the weekend in Ocean City, Maryland. The visiting Philadelphian was having a wonderful time with his buddies until he lost his irreplaceable wedding ring. Apparently, when the party crew had finished for the day on the beach, Steven removed his shirt and sunglasses from the back of his sun chair and then folded the sand furniture up just before walking off of the beach with his friends.

At some point later on, Steven realized that he never retrieved his wedding band from the back of the sun chair. He reached in to grab the jewel, but when he did, Steven’s sentimental keepsake was missing. Immediately, he returned back to the beach and looked everywhere for his ring but unfortunately, all of his efforts to recover the band led to no avail. His buddies also took a shot at rummaging through the sand to see if they would have any better luck, but they too could not find Steven’s « symbol of love » anywhere.

It took a while before Steven decided to give up looking for the ring and instead at some point that evening, the distraught young man decided to take to the internet to see if he could come up with a better solution to finding his ring. The answer came when he discovered a metal detectorist directory called THE RING FINDERS which is made up of ring finding specialists all over the world. Steven called me up and I immediately took to the road and traveled 3 hours to Ocean City, Maryland to help recover Steven’s lost ring.

I was hoping to get to the beach before the sand sifter trucks rolled over the area where Steven and his friends were hanging out earlier that day. There was a good chance that the ring could be picked up by the machine and taken to the central city dumping area or that it would be sifted up and released down the beach somewhere never to be seen again. Unfortunately, because of terrible traffic and numerous storms that passed over the inland areas where I was driving through, I did not arrive In Ocean City until very late that evening, way after the time when the sifters had crossed that section of the beach. I so hoped that Steven’s precious piece of metal was skipped over by the sifting machines and that it never got gobbled up.

When I met up with my client, he took me to the approximate area where he and his friends were hanging out. I took note of where that section of the beach lined up with hotels and condos just so I would not forget the parameters of where I I needed to search. It was a good thing that I took note of those landmarks because a ferocious storm could be seen out in the distance and it was quickly heading in our direction. The wind picked up and lightning flashed brilliantly in the late night skies above. We would have to get off the beach and I had no choice but to delay the search until a few hours later.

As soon as Steven and I made it safely off the beach and back onto the street where my car was parked, we agreed to be in touch with one another sometime in the early morning hours. The storm was so scary that my client took off quickly to grab safe cover and I darted into my car where I rested until weather conditions were calm enough to go back onto the sand.

Eventually, the storm passed through Ocean City and I got out all of my equipment and headed once more towards the surf. I love conducting searches out on the beach or in the water. Every time I do so, I feel like I’m home again. I simply love it. When I arrived, I greeted my beloved ocean and surf with a tired smile across my face. I could tell that the powerful winds from the storm that had passed over the area left a tremendous effect on the waves that were violently crashing up on shore.

It was still dark outside when I laid out my grid lines and began searching for Steven’s tungsten carbide wedding band. I methodically and systematically metal detected lane by lane, foot by foot, and inch by inch until I finally received the very target signal that I had been hoping for. Of course there were all kinds of pieces of metal that I previously investigated and pulled from the sand, such as: little pieces of aluminum foil, bottle caps, pull tabs and coins. However, there was this one particular signal that caught my interest more than the rest and yes, it indeed turned out to be my client’s ring! I could not have been happier to recover this very sentimental piece of jewelry for Steven!

As the sun began to rise over the horizon, Steven met up with me once more on the beach. That’s when I got to share the fantastic news that my client would be going home to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with his special wedding band back on his finger! Steven was elated and beyond grateful for my search efforts and determination to do all I could to recover his sentimental keepsake! Later, I would find out that Steven’s wife Samantha was so overjoyed at hearing what Steven did to hire me. The ring also meant a great deal to her as well because Samantha had the honor of putting that « marriage covenant symbol » on her husband’s finger just a few years earlier on their wedding day!

Before my client and I would eventually say our goodbyes to one another, Steven shared with me that he couldn’t wait to tell his guy friends what became of his initial phone call to me asking for professional metal detecting support! He told me that from the beginning of this whole ordeal, his party clan was very skeptical of a service like THE RING FINDERS and they didn’t think there was a chance in the world that I was going to find their friend’s missing ring. Well, in the end, I love proving people wrong!

Scott was enjoying time with his family during a week or two of vacation in Betterton, Maryland. During one of those fun days out at the beach, Scott sadly lost his very special 14 karat white gold wedding band while playing and swimming in the Chesapeake Bay. He knew he must have lost it out in the water because the young man had not taken it off before entering the Bay. Scott was really upset about losing his sentimental keepsake that was put on his finger by his bride Katie around 11 years earlier.

Three weeks went by and sometime after Scott had returned from vacation back to their Pennsylvanian home, he wondered if there was perhaps a way that he could possibly recover his lost wedding ring somewhere out there in the Chesapeake Bay. He looked online and eventually Scott found a beacon of hope…THE RING FINDERS – a specialized directory of metal detectorists who are experts in finding lost rings. Scott texted me and said:

« Hi Brian. I am aware that you might be someone that might be able to help me find my wedding band. I lost it in about five feet of water at low tide off of a beach near Betterton, Maryland. It might be a little too far for you but I thought I would reach out. Is this something you could help me find? Thanks for your consideration – Scott »

Soon after I received Scott’s correspondence, we connected by phone. I was very intrigued by the story and I told Scott that I was up for the challenge.

Another week would pass by before I was able to travel the two hours out to Betterton to conduct the search. Betterton is located at the mouth of the Sassafras River on the upper Chesapeake Bay in Kent County, Maryland, on the Eastern Shore region of the Bay.

When I arrived at the search site, Scott met up with me and he immediately took me down to the beach where he lost the wedding band in the water approximately 4 weeks earlier. Though it had been a month since the ring went « missing in action », I was not intimidated by that particular fact. There were no guarantees as to what happened to the band, but I felt pretty sure that the jewel most likely buried itself in the sand below and was just waiting to be reunited with its owner.

This particular search would involve scuba diving. Scott was swimming out by a floating platform approximately 35 yards from shore (over 100 feet away). The water depth was between 5.5 and 7 feet deep, depending upon the current tide. There was no way that I could wade the water with a detector in hand at those numbers. I needed to dive for the ring with a tank on my back and have the necessary air supply to keep me submerged for a decent length of time.

It took some time to haul all of my scuba gear down the steep step path to the beach below. I had to carry: a 35 pound air tank, BCD, fins, exposure wear, regulators, dive weights up to 18 pounds, dive computer, mask, snorkel, water grid, underwater metal detectors and lots more! Scuba diving for lost rings is no simple matter. There is a lot of planning involved along with a lot of equipment required to perform such a recovery operation.

Once I assembled all of my gear along the bank of the Chesapeake, Scott went out into the water with me to orient me as to where he believed he was playing and swimming when the ring had most likely slipped off of his finger. I then began my dive and detection efforts.

I am excited to share that after a very short dive underwater (perhaps less than 30 minutes underwater), as I metal detected every square inch of the bottom of the Chesapeake Bay in the region where Scott took me to, I successfully identified and recovered my client’s lost wedding band! I was thrilled with my results!

At first, I pulled a few random pieces of metal such as pull tabs from coke cans and other pieces of scrap aluminum. And then…I got a really sweet signal coming approximately 15 to 20 feet from the floating swim platform. It was an exhilarating experience to feel around the object and to immediately identify the piece of metal as a ring! At that moment, I was pretty hopeful that the band that I had identified underwater was in fact Scott’s missing 14 karat white keepsake! It turned out that the inscription inside the band validated my hunch!

When I finally surprised Scott with my discovery, not only was he blown away by my ability to recover his very special memento from his wedding day, but all of the teens, adults and young children who were swimming and hanging out on shore erupted with excitement and multiple cheers!

I was so happy I could help Scott that day out in Betterton, Maryland! Moreover, after the successful ring recovery, I was introduced to a couple of lifetime Betterton residents who invited me and Scott into their home! We received cold drinks, were given a full history of the town, and we were shown a wonderful photo book of Betterton scenes and its people dating back to the 1930s! What a very special afternoon on the Eastern Shore that I will truly never forget!

Nick was riding his bike at the park when he felt his 2022 Tungsten Carbide Bowie High School class ring slip off of his finger and bounce on the concrete path below. He looked for more than an hour but he couldn’t find his special « school trophy » anywhere.

Later on that day, Nick’s mother came out to help her distraught son search once again for the ring, but even her efforts failed to turn up. That’s when Nick’s father got involved. He found THE RING FINDERS online and called me immediately for help.

That evening, I drove out to Bowie, Maryland to the park where Nick lost his handsome class ring with a green stone embedded inside. I systematically laid down grid lanes to metal detect every square inch along the path in the grassy areas. The Bowie High School class ring was discovered in less than an hour off into the grass! Nick and his father were more than thrilled to see that black, silver and green ring back in the soon-to-graduate student’s possession!

Ring Finder in Dewey Beach, Delaware Recovers Lost Wedding Band in Atlantic Ocean

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Stephen’s 14 karat yellow gold wedding band with multiple diamonds recovered by professional ring finder Brian Rudolph who searched for the jewel in the Atlantic Ocean located in Dewey Beach, Delaware!

Stephen of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania proudly and happily holding up his irreplaceable diamond wedding band which he was convinced upon leaving the surf that he would never see it again! Metal detectorist and RING HERO Brian Rudolph proved him wrong!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I was contacted by Dana who lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was desperately calling on behalf of her husband (who didn’t know that his wife was calling me for help). The backstory goes like this:

Stephen, Dana and their family drove from Philadelphia to Dewey Beach, Delaware for a little vacation. They stayed at Stephen’s parent’s beach house. The plan was to enjoy a few days on the sand and in the water. Unfortunately, their time was cut short when Stephen lost his cherished wedding band out in the Atlantic Ocean while holding his four year old daughter in his arms. Stephen attributed the sliding off of the ring from his finger due to a recent weight loss of over 60 pounds, and of course, the ocean water that additionally caused his fingers to shrink in size, making the band extremely vulnerable out in the Atlantic.

As soon as Stephen came up onto the shore with his daughter, he realized that his beloved 14 karat yellow gold and multiple diamond wedding ring was missing from his finger. He was devastated. The poor guy was so upset that he stormed up to his beach blanket, packed up what he could carry and then walked off the sand heading towards his vehicle.

Stephen was in tears over the loss of his irreplaceable keepsake. He had never taken the ring off in all 16 years of his blissful marriage other than a few times to avoid damaging it. The disappointment was so great that as soon as the family got back to the beach house, Stephen had his family pack up all of their belongings and he immediately drove them all back to Philadelphia later that evening! Dana told me that her husband was so angry and upset about the incident that he actually got physically sick on the drive home. That’s how tough this loss was for the man.

Two days after the family settled in back at their Pennsylvanian home, Dana was on Facebook and someone suggested to her the idea of contacting a member of THE RING FINDERS to see if a specialist could try finding Stephen’s ring out in the Atlantic. She sat on the information for another 24 hours and then finally decided to do a search on the directory. That’s when Dana discovered my metal detecting services in Dewey Beach, Delaware.

After I got all of the facts from Stephen’s wife regarding the loss of the wedding band, I explained to Dana that because so many days had passed, we had only a small chance of recovering the lost jewel. Yet, I shared that if there was one person that could pull the keepsake from the Atlantic Ocean, I was her ring hero.

Next, me and my client coordinated with Stephen’s mother, Pat, who was still vacationing at her Dewey Beach house. I worked it out to meet up with the family member over at the search site around the lowest tide hour of the day. Since Stephen’s mother was present at the time of the loss of the ring, she could recall the approximate location where Stephen had been hanging out in the water. I was excited about this challenging water search out in the ocean. It was a long shot, but I like trying to defeat the odds when it comes to recovering lost rings in tough environments.

When I met up with Pat at the beach, she immediately showed me where the family had their things lying on the sand and the general area where Stephen had been hanging out in the water when the band presumably came off. The two of us knew that we had a very small window of opportunity for me to search the Atlantic because: One, low tide was already upon us. And two, an ugly storm was coming our way. Time was of the essence.

Based on the information I obtained from Stephen’s mom, I used two markers to make my search boundary noticeable from the ocean while detecting out in the water. Before heading into the Atlantic to start metal detecting, I prayed with Pat that God would bring about a miracle for Stephen. I explained to her that I believe I have God’s favor when it comes to the searching for lost wedding bands. The reason for this is because the wedding band represents a covenant between spouses. Therefore since God loves the covenant of marriage (He was the one that created it from the beginning), I believe God would want that ring to be returned to its rightful owner.

Once we finish praying, I started wading the water of the Atlantic Ocean. There was another family up on shore that had been watching me the whole time as I was being beaten up by the incoming waves. They didn’t think I had a chance in the world to find such a tiny piece of jewelry out there in the vast waters. However, like most, they were still intrigued and entertained by my valiant efforts and they kept watching me scan the ocean for the diamond ring.

Back and forth I continued to detect the water, hoping to get a decent signal to investigate. For the longest time I got absolutely no hits. In fact, I started thinking that I was going to have to wrap up the search because: One, I had been out there so long and there was no sign of the ring. Two, I was really taking a beating by the violent waves. And three, I could see the storm quickly approaching in the distance and we would need to take cover sooner than later.

Even though I was fighting against many odds of finding Stephen’s ring, I continued to do what I know to do best, and that is: keep the focus and keep the hope alive within and not give up the search. I kept swinging my coil back and forth and moved farther into the water even though I was getting pounded by the waves over and over again.

At some point, just before having to call it quits for the day, I actually got a promising signal on my detector screen. It was coming up in the number range of exactly the kind of target I had been searching for. I believe the object that I zeroed in on was buried approximately 6 inches in the sand and about 4 feet of water below out in the surf. Quickly, I pinpointed the exact spot where the mysterious item was hiding and then positioned my sand scoop in order to try to bring up the target from beneath the sand.

After a few unsuccessful attempts of scooping up the piece of metal due to how crazy the waves were pounding me, I finally got the object into my sand scoop. Then, I sifted out the shells and silt and there, line at the bottom of my scoop was one of the most handsome men’s wedding bands I had ever seen! And it was huge too! I couldn’t believe it and yet I could at that moment because I had seen the amazing work of God before and this search was no exception! I was so excited and I couldn’t wait to surprise Pat and family with the incredible news! I did it! I pulled the lost ring from the Atlantic Ocean and cheated its tough resistances! What an amazing moment that was!

When I revealed the ring, I did so in front of Pat and her son Stephen who we did a FaceTime with right there out by the water! Neither one of them had any idea that I had found the wedding band and it brought both mother and son to tears! The family on the beach who were watching me the whole time also joined in the celebration and was quite amazed at what I was able to accomplish that late afternoon out in the Atlantic Ocean!

Finally, Pat and I partnered together to surprise Stephen’s wife Dana who was the one who originally called me after learning about THE RING FINDERS on Facebook. We FaceTime’d her and once again, I had another family member completely in tears as she sat in her vehicle on the side of the road! There were children in the backseat of her SUV and even some of them began to cry as well! It was truly an unforgettable moment for me and for everyone who witnessed the unbelievable news!

Stephen was in complete shock when he saw his ring in my hand! There was not a thought in the world that he would ever wear that wedding band ever again! And yet, the reality of the matter was that Stephen’s irreplaceable diamond wedding band that he cherished with all of his heart, that had been in the Atlantic Ocean for over 3 days…was coming back home to Philadelphia!

One would never be able to imagine the amount of thanks and praise that we all offered up to God for answering our prayers out there on that Delaware shore that one special afternoon!

Wedding Ring Disappears in Bathroom…Ring Finder Helps Greenbelt, Maryland Couple Find Lost Jewel

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Leighanne’s lovely diamond wedding ring that was finally recovered with the help of professional ring finder, Brian Rudolph!

Leighanne and Steven so very excited to have their beautiful diamond wedding band back where it once belonged – right next to her gorgeous engagement ring!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Leighanne always put her rings on a jewelry tree in her master bathroom beside the sink. One morning, the young lady heard a « ping » sound coming from the floor as she walked out of the bathroom. Leighanne looked back and noticed all of her jewelry was accounted for except her beloved diamond wedding band. It was gone!

Leighanne figured that the ring had somehow fallen off of her jewelry tree and landed somewhere on the floor. Naturally she thought that retrieving the irreplaceable keepsake would be a cinch knowing that the bathroom was quite tiny and that there was no place for the band to hide other than on the floor somewhere.

As it turned out, Leighanne couldn’t find the ring anywhere! She eventually called in her husband Steven and he couldn’t find it either! The two of them thought that they were losing their minds! ‘How could this be so difficult?’, they thought to themselves.

After hours upon hours of scouring the floor for the missing ring, Leighanne finally went online to seek professional help…and she found it! The young lady discovered THE RING FINDERS – an elite metal detectorist directory that provides specialized help for people just like Leighanne and Steven.

Once I received the call from Leighanne, I asked her every question in the book, just like an investigator would inquire of all of the facts. The couple wanted me to come out to their place in Greenbelt, Maryland as soon as I could to help solve this case. However, I was unavailable for the next 24 hours. So, I reassured Leighanne and Steven that I would do everything possible to help them over the phone, using all of my knowledge and experience from many other successful in-house search recoveries.

As soon as they sent me video of their bathroom in order to help orient me with their search environment, I was pretty confident that I knew what had happened to Leighanne’s precious « symbol of love ». I was convinced that for the diamond band to have disappeared out of complete sight, the ring must have taken a bounce upon hitting the tile floor and made its way into an unknown / unseen space that the couple had obviously kept overlooking.

I immediately asked Leighanne and Steven to get down on « all fours » and look under the bathroom sink cabinetry to see if there were any gaps down below where the ring could have slipped into such a space after bouncing off the tile floor. To my excitement, the couple did confirm that there was in fact a narrow slit of open area in the cabinetry located just a couple of inches above the floor! Their eyes had not previously seen the gap because one would have had to duck way down to even notice that very thin tight space!

Next, I told them to shine their best light source inside the mysterious space and see if they could eyeball Leighanne’s special jewel somewhere in the darkness. After several attempts to catch a glimpse of the diamond band, Steven’s eyes finally locked in on the prize and the couple burst out with cries of joy and excitement! The ring was found! My theory proved to be correct! I solved the mystery and my clients could not have been more grateful for my assistance!

It would then take awhile longer to find an effective method to grab a hold of the « runaway » piece of ice, but eventually the couple was happily reunited with their most important wedding day souvenir! I was beyond thrilled to be able to help Leighanne and Steven recover their irreplaceable lost jewel! I love being a part of THE RING FINDERS!

How to Find a Lost Diamond Ring Thrown During a Fight

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Melissa’s stunning 2.5 carat diamond solitaire engagement ring with a halo of little diamonds encircling the center diamond held by a 14 karat white gold band encrusted with diamonds half way around the band.

Melissa and Dwight happy together once again and proudly showing off Melissa’s incredible diamond ring that member of THE RING FINDERS, Brian Rudolph had miraculously recovered from Washington DC public property!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

How is one to find a lost diamond ring that was thrown after a fight?

The answer is simple: call a professional ring finder!

You too never thought one existed?

Well, they do exist and more and more people are turning for help on a special online metal detectorist directory website called THE RING FINDERS.

The online directory will help you locate a local ring finder in your geographical area.

I, Brian Rudolph, am a local ring finder and a proud member of THE RING FINDERS serving Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and West Virginia.

Here is an example of someone who reached out to me after a ring was thrown following an argument.

Melissa and Dwight were drinking together outside on their apartment patio. Somehow their fun transitioned into an argument about something and things began to get quite heated between the engaged couple.

As is common with many other ring stories like this, Melissa decided to take off and throw her beautiful 2.5 carat diamond solitaire engagement ring with a halo of little diamonds encircling the center diamond held by a 14 karat white gold band encrusted with diamonds half way around the band. That action did not cool things down by any means. It was a tough night for both fiance’s.

When the young lady dialed down her emotions, she realized what mistake she made in throwing the ring and immediately she began searching for the MIA diamond engagement ring.

Meanwhile, Dwight was really upset about what took place because not only did Melissa throw something that was supposed to mean everything to her, but this was not the first time that his fiance had launched the special « promise jewel unto marriage ».

Ironically, I was told by the couple that a year earlier they had found my information on THE RING FINDERS website just after Melissa threw the same ring out into an Ocean City, Maryland hotel parking lot. They had gotten into a bad fight and Melissa’s very expensive piece of jewelry ended up lost in the public space below. Thankfully, Dwight eventually eyeballed the ring somewhere in the bushes and that nightmarish episode quickly came to an end.

When this second incident happened, the couple remembered THE RING FINDERS detectorist directory and my name happened to pop up once again.

Melissa stayed up all night searching for her ring and yet all of her efforts led to no avail. The next morning, she was back at it again, on her hands and knees out in a narrow patch of grass, scanning with her eyes with the hope that she would lock-in on that very sentimental keepsake. Still, the remorseful young lady found nothing but trash hidden below the grass blades and surrounding mud pockets.

Sometime during the early afternoon hours, while I was assisting another client with a ring search and recovery project, I received correspondence from Melissa crying out for help. The two of us talked on the phone and I assured her that if she still could not find her diamond ring by the end of the day, I would travel out to the couple’s Washington DC apartment building the next morning. She was extremely grateful for the assistance and for my words of encouragement knowing that she’s not the first to throw a ring (let alone multiple times).

Because Melissa was not able to find her most priceless material possession out there beyond her apartment complex, I headed out early the next morning to conduct my own search.

After my distraught client showed me where she was sitting when she threw the ring and took me to the narrow patch of grass where she had been searching, we had a time of prayer, asking the Lord to help me with this search and then I immediately started metal detecting.

Melissa told me that she remembered « tossing » the ring versus « throwing » the jewel in haste. However, I reminded her that when alcohol is involved, the one throwing the ring rarely is in touch with their emotions and even recollections of what actually took place. Adding anger and alcohol together makes for a very bad combination!

When I metal detected the strip of grass that was located alongside the apartment building (completely enclosed by a high fence around the parameter of the property), I found lots of miscellaneous pieces of metal such as: coins, beer pull tabs, aluminum foil, Christmas tree light bulbs and wire, and believe it or not… a couple of bullets! Unfortunately, there was no ring to be found in that location where Melissa was positive she launched it towards. I double checked my work just to make sure and then I was positive that the ring did not end up in that space unless someone happened to have found the keepsake after noticing Melissa searching for something herself.

I told my client where things stood at that point and she was completely mystified. Melissa was certain that the ring would have landed on that part of the property that I had just finished detecting. I asked her if she had looked on the other side of the property’s privacy fence where there was a concrete drive which led down into the parking garage below the complex. I was stunned to hear her response… she had not looked anywhere else but that one grassy section that I had just finished searching. This concerned me greatly because a car tire could have picked up the ring and carried it down the street or anyone walking around the entrance to the garage could have easily eyeballed the diamond ring! It was imperative that I search the public access road on the other side of the fence!

I told Melissa that it was quite possible that when she threw the ring, it might have traveled in a different direction and possibly landed much farther away from the distance she predicted. My client refuted the idea based on the fact that there was a fairly large tree in front of the balcony where Melissa threw the jewel and that the chances of the ring getting passed the branches were very slim. I did have to agree with her on that one point.

As soon as Melissa and I had our discussion, I requested that we immediately search the concrete drive and its surroundings. My client got very nervous at that point because I made her start thinking that perhaps she was negligent in not thinking to check outside the apartment complex property. We rushed down into her complex, took the stairs down to the garage level and headed out the large underground garage door that led to the area where we needed to search.

The two of us looked long and hard for my client’s huge diamond ring but it didn’t turn up anywhere out there. I checked every square inch of the concrete drive, including an alleyway and in the middle of one of the city streets that intersected with the alley. I was really concerned that a tire may have picked up the ring and carried it down the street. Still, I came up empty-handed.

At about this time, the fiance was getting very nervous and a bit more emotional as she regretted not thinking to look for the ring in the public environments. I’ll never forget the pressure that she placed upon me when Melissa said in a voice of desperation, « You do understand that if you don’t end up finding my ring, Dwight is completely done with me. Finished. » This young lady meant the « B » word… Breakup. After a second incident of throwing the « betrothal gift » and the potential of losing something this expensive, Melissa’s fiance was not going to fight for the relationship anymore if the ring was not recovered. I was heartbroken for her at this point and I prayed more to God on behalf of my client as I searched and searched to find the « true victim of circumstances ».

When I concluded that the jewel was not on the concrete drive leading down to the underground garage, nor in the alleyway or on the main street a block away (just in case a tire picked it up and took it down a ways), I was about to call it quits. By this point, Melissa was back at her place hanging out on the apartment patio with Dwight. She pretty much lost all hope at this late hour in the game. And frankly, I had almost lost any hope, as well.

I kept looking over to where the couple was and measured in mind the great distance it was between where Melissa threw the ring and where I was standing in the middle of the drive leading to the underground garage. It was a good 60 foot distance or so. That’s not a lot of space when dealing with a ring throw. However, there was that tree involved which was dead smacked in front of where the couple sat! The ring’s velocity would have greatly slowed down when striking even a leaf from that tree that was in the way. Still, I searched on and rechecked my work.

My last task with this project before having to conclude that either a tire took the poor ring down the street or someone passing by (a groundskeeper, homeless person or just any random pedestrian) picked up the keepsake, was to metal detect and « eye scan » a 1 foot strip of grass that was parallel with a property privacy fence located on the opposite side of the concrete underground garage driveway. Because the fence was made of steel, I believe I used a very small detector coil (6 inches) to attempt to get less interference coming from the massive structure of metal that easily would have « masked » the ring signal if it was in fact hidden in that very narrow section.

Well, I am delighted to share that as I was mostly done searching the very thin 1 foot wide strip of grass, I got a potential signal on my machine. I looked down to investigate the target and lo and behold…I FOUND IT! I saw the ring in the grass! A huge diamond was staring right back at me as I leaned down to retrieve it while it was still resting amongst some rocks, mud, weeds and a random green colored bread pizza wrapper! I couldn’t believe it! The whole moment was so surreal! I truly was in a state of complete unbelief! Few times I end up in shock, but this happened to be one of them! I was so happy for my clients! Especially for Melissa! And let me say, her diamond ring was absolutely exquisite! Little diamonds danced around each side of the band as the center stone showed off it’s brilliance and size! There was even a halo of little diamonds encircling the 2.5 carat solitaire! Very impressive!

Apparently, somehow, some way…the ring cleared the tree that was in front of the couple, then traveled over a stretch of grass, over a property fence, then flew over most of the pavement of the underground garage drive, bounced off of the concrete driveway and landed onto the tiny thin patch of dirt, weeds and grass that was located along the property privacy fence line allocated to the far wing of the same apartment complex! Truly Unbelievable! How that ring could have gone that far and then bounce off the concrete and onto that narrow strip was completely beyond my comprehension!

When I finally revealed to the couple the gorgeous ring that I was able to miraculously recover from that completely unexpected environment, they both went crazy! There is no other word to describe the moment! There were hugs and tears and great elation that came from the hearts and mouths of my clients! It was truly a great moment for all of us! We all gave thanks to the Lord for answering our earlier prayer together by helping me with the search and successful recovery of Melissa’s stunning diamond engagement ring!

So, in conclusion, I once again highlight the question that I first asked at the beginning of this article:

How is one to find a lost diamond ring that was thrown after a fight?

The Simple Answer: Go to THE RING FINDERS website and search for a ring finder closest to you so that they can recover for you what I was able to return to my clients… not just the engagement ring…but also…apparently their future together!
