I received a call from Phil after his wife Kelcy had lost her engagement ring while they had been working to build a shed at their home in Fayette, Maine. After finding several nails and a bottle cap or two during my sweep of the areas they had been working, I decided to move the lumber pile they had staged to complete the project, the ring was  quickly located when the last board was moved. A successful recovery made the long drive and 20 degree temperature worth it and I was happy to reunite Kelcy with her ring

Four rings lost and found at Popham Beach State Park in Popham, Maine

  • from Rockport (Maine, United States)

I was referred by fellow Ring Finder Dennis Boothby to Kimberly who had lost 4 rings while vacationing at Popham Beach, and had already returned home to Pennsylvania. When I was initially contacted one the rings had been found in the sand and turned into the Park Ranger. I travelled to the site without optimism as a week had passed and the rings being on a public beach could have easily been found by another detectorist. After about 30 minutes of searching I recovered the rings in the general vicinity of where Kimberly had reported them being lost. I made the phone call to report my success which was well received with a joyous and tearful response.

Jenna was referred by fellow Ring Finder Dennis Boothby after losing her amethyst and diamond engagement ring at the Sheepscot General Store and Farm in Whitfield, during a strawberry picking family outing a week ago. I decided to begin my search in the grassy parking area before venturing into the strawberry patch. After about 10 minutes I located and reunited Jenna with her ring after finding it nestled in the grass and clover near where they had parked. Through tears of joy she explained that the ring had belonged to her fiancées grandmother and the thought of having to explain it being lost to her in-laws had been overwhelming.

Lost wedding ring found in Camden, Maine

  • from Rockport (Maine, United States)

I received a call that a bachelorette party weekend had taken a turn for the worst when Amy, a bridesmaid had lost her wedding ring in near by Megunticook Lake. With my tear away policeman costume and Chippendale Speedo, bow tie, and wrist cuff ensemble, unfortunately out to the dry cleaners, I instead grabbed my scuba diving metal detectorist outfit and headed to the scene to bring the mood back up. I was greeted with hoots and hollers upon my arrival and then again when I surfaced from the lake a short time later busting my signature move of holding up the lost ring with a big smile. Remember, if you happen to lose a ring in the lake at a bachelorette party, it should not stay lost in the lake at a bachelorette party. Contact The Ring Finders.

Lost gold ring found in Newcastle, Maine

  • from Rockport (Maine, United States)

After receiving a call from Erin I headed to Newcastle, ME to locate this cigar band gold ring she lost while swimming at Colby wildlife Refuge.  The ring which actually belongs to her husband and is a family heirloom was lost last year. Although they had searched previously with a detector themselves, Erin kept my involvement a secret and couldn’t wait to surprise her husband with the good news at a family BBQ that evening. As you can imagine finding and recovering it from the mudflats was a sticky, gooey, muddy good time with a garden hose shower for me and my equipment as soon as I got home. A portion of the reward received will be directed to the MCST Outdoor Leadership Program.

Lost white gold wedding band recovered from Bunganut Lake in Lyman, Maine with a metal detector.

  • from Rockport (Maine, United States)

I received a call from Jeff who had lost his white gold wedding ring while swimming at a friends camp over the summer,  asking if I would be able to look for  it. Although the late October Sunday was an unseasonably warm day the waters of Bunganut Lake in Lyman had cooled off quite a bit since Jeff lost his ring. The search area was small with about a 10’ maximum depth, but strewn with large boulders which made navigating and detecting a challenge. After about two hours I was able locate and reunite Jeff with his ring which I found at the base of one of the boulders and covered in a couple inches of silt.
