***Manual and his family were at Aliso Beach which is part of Orange County , CA. Park system. . He gave his gold ring to his girlfriend for safekeeping while he went for a swim.She put it on her finger. A couple hours later as they were picking up to go home, the ring was not on her finger. Everybody in the group unsuccessfully searched the sand. I was called to help.
The ring had to be there as they had not left the area. They called me and met them at Aliso Beach. After gridding the area for an hour, I ask them to re-check all the items in their campsite, because the ring was not in the sand.. Boom!! the ring showed up in the baby stroller.. Another example that searching for a lost item is a process of elimination. I could feel confident that the ring wasn’t in the sand before suggesting they recheck containers, etc. in their campsite… This time I was still at the site when the ring was located.
