It was time to find Kiley’s sentimental engagement ring.

I set the detector down in the area to begin. I didn’t even have a chance to start swinging it yet.

I pulled out my pinpointer, but before I could even press the button, I looked down. The ring wasn’t sitting out in the open—it was completely buried in the turf, but I caught just a tiny, unmistakable sliver of the setting and the diamond.

That was all it took. I knew instantly it was exactly what I was looking for.

I turned around, looked at Kiley, and let her know that her ring had already been found.

Stunned, she looked at me and gasped, « 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬?! »

She immediately rushed over. At first, she couldn’t spot the ring camouflaged in the thick blades of grass, so I carefully pointed it out.

The moment her eyes locked onto it, 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝, shimmering just like the diamond itself. I picked up the ring and handed it back to her. 💧💎
