Atur’s very handsome 18 karat yellow gold wedding band which detectorist Brian Rudolph recovered in a community park in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Anjali was so happy that the 18 karat yellow gold ring that she picked out and put on her husband’s finger so many years earlier was now back in their possession once again!

Atur was playing with his little girl over by the park near his house. As he threw a ball up into the air for his daughter to catch, he felt his 18 karat yellow gold wedding ring slip off of his finger.
Atur began to search for his ring that he confidently knew that it must have landed nearby to him. A few minutes of looking turned out to be endless hours and then even days of searching for the lost ring. The gentleman even tried using a metal detector to find his beloved keepsake, but even utilizing that tool led to no available.
At some point, after Atur and his wife Anjali exhausted all efforts to find the irreplaceable piece of jewelry at the park, they went online and found THE RING FINDERS, a website that consists of a directory of metal detectorists that specialize in recovering lost rings and other items.
After I received the call from the couple, we worked out a time for me to come out and search for the ring. The biggest concern that everyone had was whether or not someone had already « eyeballed » the piece of gold (since the wood chip covered tot lot and concrete sidewalk had surrounded the grass and trees where Atur threw the ball).
When I arrived at the search site, Anjali took me on a tour to show me exactly where her husband stood when he lost his ring. Then, I immediately returned to my car where I retrieved all of the necessary metal detecting equipment and began the search thereafter.
At first, I metal detected the grass without using my grid lines. I had plenty of signals, but I detected no gold ring. I hoped that I had not missed any real estate and when I did not find the piece of jewelry that I was looking for. So, I pulled out my grid lines and began detecting all over again. I was hoping that I had just missed the ring before and that it was still somewhere on the grass.
I’m excited to share that while swinging the machine over the third grid lane, I got a promising signal and I immediately checked it out. The tone was a bit choppy and the numbers on my detector seemed slightly irregular but I wasn’t going to take a chance on missing the prized possession belonging to my clients.
As it turned out, I in fact found the lost ring that had gone missing for many days and was presumably lost forever! It had flown approximately 40 feet behind Atur towards the left side of the grassy park lawn!
I can’t describe how excited the couple was when I surprised each of them individually! They really couldn’t believe that the wedding band was actually found! They were so grateful that my skills and my faith in the Lord for helping me recover such possessions for such people as Atur and Anjali was even possible. They also were indebted to Chris Turner of THE RING FINDERS who started such a directory over 15 years ago to help people just like them recover what most likely would have been lost forever!
