*** Emil called me shortly after discovering that his 18k Cartier wedding band was not on his finger. He had been visiting friends that live near the Balboa Pier in Newport Beach, CA. They walk ed to the beach and did a quick dive into the surf, then walked across the dry sand and a block along the sidewalk to the house. While sitting in the jacuzzi he realized the ring was missing.

Those were the clues I had to begin my search. I would love to hear that he felt the ring come off when he dove in the surf. After talking to Emil, I explained that I could use my metal detector to search the surf at the next low tide and I could search the dry sand to where he got to the sidewalk. All other possible places would have to be searched visually. He said he could do that.

My search of the dry sand and the wet sand at the next two low tides were unsuccessful. I told him that I would keep his contact information and the photo of his ring in case it showed up some time later. This is a beach I often detect and sometimes other detectorists ask me if I can connect them to owners of rings they have found.

Two months later I was doing some recreational metal detecting on that same location and I found a silver colored ring but didn’t associate it with the white gold ring lost two months ago. A half hour later I started to think, maybe that ring could be the one that Emil lost. I pulled out my iPhone to check the photo Emil had sent me two months ago. BOOM!!! It was a match.. Emil’s ring did come off in the surf and survived two major storms with lots of sand movement.

I sent him a photo of his ring and we met the same night so he could pick up his ring.  Some beaches can hold a ring in the 10” to 14” depth for weeks, making low tide recoveries possible. This was not one of those beaches. Soft fluffy sand eats rings, or let’s them sink out range of most metal detectors.. We were lucky !!

I can help you with any questions you may have about how a metal detecting service works ..  Available Now .. “I WILL TRY ANYWHERE “

>>> Russ called me asking for help to find his platinum wedding ring. He had been playing with his dog in the backyard. Soon after going inside the house he discovered his platinum wedding ring was not on his finger. Although he didn’t feel the ring come off his finger he believed the ring had to be somewhere in the backyard.

He used a rake to try dislodge the ring from the grass. After several hours, he gave up and went to the internet for ideas on how to search for a ring. While online he found TheRingFinders site and my contact information. He called me that afternoon. I found out that he could be home to let me search the small back yard grass and planters.

After arriving at his home in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA., Russ showed me a nice grass backyard with planters all around the perimeter. It looked promising as the lawn was deep grass, perfect to hide a heavy platinum ring.

I gave Russ a bit of a tutorial on my detector and how I would begin my search. He understood that it was going to be a tedious process and he went inside the house. My plan was to eliminate the grass then attack the ground level planters. Well, I was three quarters through the grass area when I took a swing into one of the planters, BOOM!! a nice tone in my earphones that I had to inspect with my pinpointer. Russ’s ring was no longer lost.

I went to their back door to inform them that I had found the ring. It was still in its hiding place, so I directed them to the location. After pointing out where it was they still couldn’t see it. It’s amazing how the silver color of platinum, silver or white gold can almost act as camouflage in dirt or any shaded location. It was a happy occasion for all of us. Technology wins again..

*** Brandon’s bother called me asking if I was available to search for a ring his brother lost at Doheny State Beach, Dana Point, California.  He said his Brandon could not meet me till late this evening.

I explained, it always increases our chance for a successful recovery if he could get me close to the area of the loss. For now, I would drive to the location to give it search, because it was a public area and may get found by someone that doesn’t know how to find the owner.

The ring was lost out of a baby stroller in the dry sand at the towel line. When I arrived at the location that Brandon’s brother had given me, I located a silver colored ring. I didn’t even check it for the inscription because I was told it was a tungsten ring.

After gridding the area for almost a hour, I couldn’t locate a tungsten ring. Returning to my car to call Brandon for more information, I looked at the silver colored ring which was marked Plat. and had the exact inscription that was given to me. It was Brandon’s ring .

I made the call and he met me an hour later to pick up the ring..

I WILL TRY ANYWHERE.. Call now for information on how the service works.. Glad to help you.

***Kent parked his camper at Huntington City Beach, CA. . He gave his keys to his girlfriend to use during the day while they were on the beach. Later that day his friend lost the camper keys somewhere between the parking lot and the towel line on the beach.

Although they did not realize when the key fob with keys was dropped. They were positive that the loss occurred where the spent the most time. ( the towel line near the water).

I met Kent and he showed me the exact location where they were. A quick grid of a small area was unsuccessful. He thought it would be impossible for me to cover long distance across the sand to the parking lot. I told him I can give it a try. It was difficult to predict the exact path they walked. I usually do 5 or 7 grid passes for the 100yards.

Towards the end of my grid, Kent came up to see if I had any luck.. He conceded that we had done as much as possible and he was ready to go through the process to have the vehicle towed. I told him, I would finish the last 25 feet as he rode off on his bike.. A few minutes later I found the Mercedes’ key fob. I called him right away. It was a happy reunion with many happy smiles.

*** George’s wife called me asking for help finding his  gold wedding ring. He had worn this ring for over 30 years and had never lost it. Today it came off his finger while brushing sand off his leg at San Clemente Beach, CA.

I assured them I could find the ring if they could secure the area and wait at the site. There was a possibility that they could not stay at the location because of previous reservations. I agreed to get on the road right away. Understanding that they may have to leave the site before I arrived.

Traffic was not bad which made my drive time about 30 minutes. When I arrived a car was pulling out of a front row parking place,  which was a miracle. George’s wife was in the parking lot to direct me where George was waiting for me.

The beach was crowded but he had secured the 20’x20’ area. As I started my grid search there were no metal signal, then I got a good signal that sounded deep. Usually a fresh dropped ring isn’t very deep. This was a heavy ring more than  a foot deep in the very soft sand. It is most likely that the ring dropped deeper as they dug in the sand with their hands.

The whole family was relieved and surprised after we retrieved the ring. Before finding TheRingFinders service George had thoughts about returning the next day with sand sifting equipment. This can also be a waste of time for many reasons. It is real common to get to a search where the people had spent hours/days searching with sifting equipment and borrowed or rented metal detectors. Often the ring or piece of jewelry is just missed because of poor equipment . An experienced person with a professional metal detector can usually find the missing article. If it’s there we can find it.

I am here to help you find your sentimental lost metal object.. “I WILL TRY ANYWHERE “  .. Feel free to call to ask any questions about how this service works.. Stan .. 949-500-2136

I called him just to let him know it wasn’t there. That’s when he apologized for giving me the wrong lifeguard tower number. When he told me  it was lifeguard tower 21 , I went there and found his gold ring 10 minutes into the search.

Frankie picked up his ring the next day after work.

*** Jessy had lost her white gold diamond wedding ring in the backyard of her home in Fullerton, CA. She was throwing a ball when she felt the ring fit off her finger. Her husband searched for it in the lawn with a inexpensive metal detector. He also climbed on top of the patio to see if the ring ended on the patio roof.

Hiedi, Jessy’s mother had a friend that had successfully recovered her ring in Maui, HI. using Dave Sheldon who has Dave’s Metal Detecting Service. So, Hiedi figured there must be someone here in SoCal. A quick google search turned up my contact information and we were connected. It was late in the day but I figured we had enough daylight to do what I thought was going to be a easy search.

I arrived at the home and began a grid search of a small lawn area, no ring. I used up all the daylight search the lawn many more grid than normal. It was dark when I began to probe in the thick dense shrubbery against the wall. They were certain that the ring didn’t go that far.

This thick ivy-like shrubbery was difficult to maneuver my detector through and the darkness was also interfering with completing my search. I asked if they would be here tomorrow so I could finish the shrubbery search. Then I got a signal high up on  the climbing ivy ( maybe 3 feet) .. When I probe into the foliage with my pinpointer, I lost the signal. That happened three times as the target dropped. Finally I called Jessy over to give me another set of eyes . Bingo!! it was her white gold diamond wedding ring.

Everyone was surprised and happy, it wasn’t looking very good as I used up all the potential hiding places. This small area took close to two hours and would have been very easy to give up, but giving up is not an option. I love doing this even when it gets tough.

Don’t give up .. Your valuable is not lost forever. Call an experienced metal detector expert. Stan the Metal Detector Man is available to help you now…I WILL TRY ANYWHERE… 949-500-2136

***  Kieth called me as I was driving home from another ring recovery. He had been at Huntington Beach on a bicycle ride. He stopped at the Huntington Beach House restaurant to have a little beverage and enjoy the music.

When he returned to his E-Bike he reached into his pocket to pull his keys out. Right away he realized his platinum wedding ring was in the same pocket. His ring fell into the dry sand. His attempts to find it were unsuccessful.

Kieth returned home google searching for information about metal detectors. He found my contact information and called right away. He gave me verbal directions as to where he dropped the ring. I got to the location 10 minutes before he got there. As I was walking down the pedestrian /bicycle path two guys saw me with a metal detector. They told me that a guy had lost a wedding ring over by the bike rack.

I already had the location of the loss. It was another quick recovery. Kieth showed up just after I found the ring. He was proud that he found my service. He and his wife were very appreciative to have the ring where it has been for many years.

Lost a Ring at a SoCal Beach in the water or dry sand .. Call the Metal Detector Man .. 949-500-2136

*** Mike and his family are visiting Newport Beach, CA. from Canada. He was in waist deep water when he felt his ring slip off his finger.

He found my contact information on line, calling me for information on how the metal detecting service works. I gave him a short explanation of how we can work with the low tide as he was in the water at high tide. I did come to scan the upper dry sand just to eliminate that possibility.

The best low tide was at 2 am in the morning. I used photos Mike sent me get landmarks that would narrow the search area. I arrived before low tide as this is a beach that is heavily hunted by other detectorists. It took about 45 minutes of thoroughly grid searching the low tide zone till I found Mike’s ring.

I contacted him the next morning with the good news. I was able to deliver the ring to him as he was staying in a hotel and he had been using Uber to get around town ..  I can’t always guarantee a recovery in the water as sand conditions can vary and many times people lose rings I deeper water. I this case we had a successful recovery because we tried. Conditions were perfect.
