Sandy was pulling weeds from the lake and realized the ring her mother had given her had come off her finger. Her daughter contacted our SRARC Ringfinders and spoke to Howard Metts who arranged a hunt. Rob Clarke, Howard Metts, and Ed Osmar responded for the hunt. After checking for gators the hunters headed into the lake with Howard spooking a water snake that left the water. Five minutes latter Rob came up with the ring. Sandy was overjoyed to see the ring again. Great job team!

Matt, his wife Tracey and Chris, his wife Amy came down from Indiana to enjoy Fall break with their children here in Florida. Chris and family went to Orlando to investigate the theme parks and Matt and family came to Anna Maria Island. Since they were friends, Matt invited Chris and family for a day at the beach. After they arrived from Orlando, both families headed together to the beach. They got settled on the sand and Matt and Chris headed out into the water and started throwing a football back and forth. On one of the throws, Chriss saw and felt his Gold and Platinum wedding ring fly of his finger. He knew right where it went into the water so he stood right there. They searched and searched but in the end could not find the ring. Later that evening Chris and family had to return to Orlando without his ring. Later that evening Matt googled “lost Rings on Anna Maria” and found SRARC Ring Finders. He contacted Joe Szemer who contacted Mike Miller who then did a callout for hunters. Mike Shuler, Dane Trask, and Mike all came together and meet Matt at the location the ring was lost. They got the information about where the ring was lost and went to work. About 20 minutes later Mike Miller got the sweet sound of Platinum in his ears and up came the lost ring in his scoop. There were lots if smiles as we waked back into the beach with the ring held high in the air. We don’t know when Chris will find out he has had his ring returned because we understand his wife Amy has some trickery planned, but we are sure he will end up with a great big smile on his face too.

Deb was at Siesta Key beach on a girls weekend enjoying the sun and sand. They laid out their beach towels and helped each other put suntan lotion on for protection. They talked and went for a walk and when they came back one of Deb’s friends grabbed her towel and shook the sand off. There were three rings on the towel and they all flew off in different directions. When they realized what had just happened panic followed as they frantically searched in the sand for the rings and in a short time they had recovered two of the lost rings. They all meet at a local B & B on Holmes Beach and on their first evening together headed out to the beach to watch the sunset. They had set up their chairs and got some drinks out of the cooler when Sarah remembered that she had not removed her engagement ring. She quickly took it off and handed it to her fiancé, Tyler, who put it into his wallet and zipped it closed. They enjoyed the warm evening watching the sunset and reminiscing about their college days. When it came time to go Sarah asked for her ring and Tyler unzipped his wallet and to their surprise it was not in the wallet. They all searched and searched but could not find it in the dry sand. Tyler was skimming leaves from his swimming pool. As he tossed a handful of leaves, his cherished Texas A&M class ring went flying over the block wall at the back of his property and into the overgrown easement on the other side. Tyler and his wife, Brittany, searched the area for hours but were unable to find the ring. Brittany found SRARC online and the couple contacted Joe Szemer. Ringfinder members Mike and Mary Shuler responded. Tyler wasn’t home, but Brittany indicated where the ring was thought to have gone over the wall. Ring Lost At Fort Desoto, Recovered By SRARC

Ana and Paul came to Ft Desoto to spend some quite time at the beach. They set up at the Bay pier and relaxed in the sun. After a while they went into the water and started to toss a small ball back and forth. As we have often seen, Ana was catching the ball when her engagement ring flew off into the water. They looked for hours and even purchased a small metal detector to try and find the ring. What a devastating loss while trying to save for the wedding this coming January. The next day they found the SRARC ring finders online and contacted Joe Szemer. Joe put a callout to the volunteers and Mike Miller answered the call. The time was set for 10:00 am and Mike arrived early. Using a location provided by Paul from Google Earth he went to work early and found the ring before Paul arrived to narrow the search. As Paul was showing Mike where to focus the hunt, Mike pulled the ring from his pouch and asked Paul if it looked like the right ring. He was overwhelmed and could not believe it was found. Because they were both wearing masks you couldn’t see the smiles but we know they were there. Best wishes for your future together Ana and Paul from the SRARC Ring Finders.

Ring Lost At Anna Maria Island, Recovered By SRARC

Scott and his Laurie came to their favorite spot on Anna Maria Island from Brandon to enjoy their 39th wedding anniversary at the beach. They set up their chairs at the edge of the tide line and just relaxed for a couple hours and then decided to take a walk down the beach.. After returning, Scott noticed his ring finger was swollen so he decided to remove his wedding ring and put on his little finger. They stayed a few more hours and then headed home. After arriving home, Scott noticed his ring was gone. Thinking back he remembered hearing a tink sound while setting in the chair and came to the conclusion that it must have been his ring hitting the chair. They headed back to the spot the next morning with rakes and shovels to try and find the ring. They had no luck but as they worked a local beach gower asked what they were doing. When she discovered it was a lost ring she directed them to the SRARC Ring Finders. They called Joe Szemer and Joe called Mike Miller to meet them right away while they were still at the beach. It took just a minute for Mike to find the ring and return it to a very happy couple.
