When Mark & family from Bournemouth visited the beach recently &  had no clue had disasterous it was going to end. Over the last few months Mark had lost a few pounds & noticed his wedding ring felt a ‘little loose’. When chest deep in water suddenly he felt the ring slip from his finger & disappear.

When I received the call I knew we had to get there quick- soft sands along the whole of Bournemouth beach consumes rings at an alarming rate. We met the next day where by now the tide had slightly receded. I made my plan, sort my position & set to work getting ZERO signals.

After 15 minutes suddenly from the silence the CTX3030 screamed a deafening tone at me & my heart began to pound. Staring down through my mask into the water I fanned the sand away, bit by bit until 6 inches down…

This is the heartwarming moment a police officer was reunited with his wedding ring after he lost it playing in the sea with his daughter.
Mark Roberts was throwing his seven-year-old daughter Lily around during a trip to the beach when the palladium band slipped off his ring finger.
He realised it was gone minutes later and he and wife Lisa and their friends spent around half an hour searching in waist high water for it.
Several days later he was put in touch with detectorist Richard Higham who met him at Branksome Chine, Poole, Dorset, and found the ring in just 10 minutes.

there it was! It was a large ring made even larger by the waters magnification & I thought at first it might be a bangle!

Mark & wife were overjoyed to get their ring back & contacted the Margaret Green Animal Sanctuary to make a very kind donation.

Andy & his family from High Wycome were camping near by enjoying a break in Dorset. Taking the children for an early morning swim on Studland, Andy put his wedding ring into his shoe for safe keeping. Later, when he put his shoe on he realised where he had left the ring only to realise it had gone!

After receiving the call from him I was left feeling there wasnt much hope in view of the fact he had dropped it on one of the busiest spots for beach detectorists! We met the evening after the loss, happy to find the area was clear of beach goers & I set to work immediately. Literally within 2 minutes the CTX gave a beatiful hum of gold and after one scoop… there it was!

Andy was obviousely very relieved to have got it back as was I too, especially due to previous detectorists covering the area. Andy made a kind donation to the Margaret Green Animal Sanctuary.

Beautiful Platinum & Diamond Wedding AND Engagement Rings Lost & Found in Canford Cliffs.

I received a phone call one Sunday afternoon from Jodies mother explaining her daughter had lost BOTH rings in the sea at Canford Cliffs & she was distraught at the thought of losing them. They had only been married a year! Knowing how soft the sand is there & the high amount of treasure hunters I wasted no time getting there. Even with the current restrictions in place  the roads & beach were heavy with people enjoying evening sundown.

We knew the rough area of search but because the tides retreat it added ‘doubt’. After some 15 minutes searching the sea a curious collection of her friends & family formed making the recovery even more important for me. Edging closer to shore the machine growled the ‘white gold’ tone & I KNEW it was one of our two. Five minutes after finding the first the second ring beckoned too.

The joy, relief & jubilation I experienced with them after making the recovery reminded me how important it is to have organisations such as The Ring Finders. Jodie & husband Ollie made a kind donation to Margaret Green Animal Charity for which i am most grateful.

Sara from West Sussex was horrified to feel and SEE both her wedding & engagement ring slip from her fingers into waist height of water along Studland Beach. They managed somehow to see and recover the wedding ring but not the other. Sensibly they marked the area using a large stone they had found. Being close to shore I knew the area would be full of trash & detecting good tones from bad would be difficult & time consuming.

Several attempts were made & after about two hours one tiny tone appeared around trashy others. To my delight, in my scoop I saw the glint of diamond like a cheeky wink and there it wa! Sara was overjoyed & surprised as was I & I snt the ring to her post haste. A kind donation was made to Margaret Green Animal Charity .

Stunning White Gold & Diamond Ring Lost & Found On Southbourne Beach.

Natasha & fiance spent a relaxing day on the beach making the most of the weather. Unfortunately the day was ruined when she noticed her ring, a gift from her parents some many years before, was missing!. The beach is well detected by others & I knew we had to get their first so wasted no time meeting her there.

After some ten minutes of detecting my machine gave a loud groan as it hit the ring. In fact, the ring itselt was only partially covered making it vunerable to opportunists. This is by far the pretiest ring I have ever recovered too. Natasha was delighted to have the ring back & hurried off back to babysit from where I had called her away. She made a very kind donation to the Margaret Green Animal Charity.

Duncan from Bournemouth visited a sun drenched Southbourne Beach with his family and au pair recently. After a wonderful day unfortunately the au pair felt her ring slip from her finger when they gathered their things to leave. Instantly it disappeared without trace and even after some careful sifting refused to show itself.

I took the call from them and acted straight away. The ring was very dear to her being a gift from her mother. After 10 minutes of detecting trash, at the foot of some steps, up it came. She was very relieved to have it back but a little shy to send a photo with her reunited with it. Duncan made a kind donation to the Margaret Green Animal Charity.

Gents White Gold Wedding Band Lost & Found Swanage Beach

Back in August, Russell and his family from London were making the  most of the last days of summer playing in the sea off Swanage. Unfortunately for him, soon after returning from the sea he noticed his wedding  ring missing!

I was very concerned to hear where it had been lost- I had an unsuccessful recovery from almost the same spot a few days before & put it down to the exceptional soft deep sand in that area. Nevertheless I soon went to the location knowing the tide would be out by then & set the machine for deep targets assuming the sand had well consumed it by then.

The area had already been combed by the 6pm beach hunters but after half an hour, between the trash, 8 inches down came the distinguishable sound of gold! I regard it as a very fortunate recovery due to the deep sand & the treasure hunters regulary in the area.  Russell and his wife were very grateful to retreive the ring back and will endeavour to make a donation to the Margaret Green Animal Sanctuary at Church Knowle.

Sentimental Gold Ring Lost & Found In The Sea Swanage Beach

Millie & family were enjoying their last day on Swanage Beach when disaster struck. Out to sea, about waist deep Millie felt her gold ring slip from her finger. The ring had huge sentimental value as it was given to her on her 18th birthday from her mum as it was given to her on HER 18th birthday too.

Quickly I went to the area knowing how soft the sand was under the sea in that area. I wasnt very optimistic because of this however after half an hour came a distinctive tone of gold. Millie & family were overjoyed to have the ring back. It reminds me why myself & others dedicate our time, for no personal reward to recover lost items because of the relief & appreciation they show. Millie has said she will kindly donate to the Margaret Green Animal Charity soon.

Craig & family from Essex were enjoying their last day of holiday on Studland Beach when it nearly ended in disaster.

For safe keeping Craig had put his wedding band on the towel for safe keeping as sun cream, sand and sea usually spells LOSS! Only trouble was he’d forgotten it was there, moved the towell and the ring was gone. They tried desperately for some time before finally contacting me. I was there at the beach a little later & within seconds the machine cried gold!

Craig was very relieved to have the ring back & will make a kind donation to the Margaret Green Animal Rescue shortly.

Jake & his family from Derbyshire were into the middle of their holiday enjoying a day on the beach. For safe keeping Jake put his ring safely in some clothes and played with his children. It wasnt until he moved his clothes he remembered he’d put the ring in the bundle & now it had disappeared.

I went straight to meet him after he called worried if perhaps beach combers had already ‘found it’. Fortunately after only five minutes up it came. Jake & his family were thrilled to have it back and made a kind donation to the Margaret Green Animal Charity.
