While enjoying an evening in a corn pit with his 4 yr. old son his ring slipped off his finger and disappeared deep into the corn. To make matters more challenging, the pit had large, 8-inch-wide metal strips running its entire length every six feet, just beneath the surface of the corn along with vertical poles every 8 feet.
He rented a metal detector and tried unsuccessfully to locate the missing ring. After a call was made and a time was arranged, the search was underway!
After approximately 30 minutes of searching, tuning my detector and adjusting the settings, the ring was successfully recovered, lying just above one of the metal strips running the length of the corn pit. Experience detecting in difficult situations paid off!
Another ring found and another happy ending!
