Wedding Ring Found on a Vermont Lake Shore

Got a call for help from a friend of a fellow who had just lost his wedding ring. It was a beautiful day, so they had all gone to a beach on Lake Champlain. They were playing some smashball in the sand when he noticed his ring had fallen off. They all started searching while his friend found The Ring Finders online and gave me a call. Wondering what they could do while I was on the way, I said they should stake a claim to that section of the beach so no one could walk off with it!

I jumped in my truck and got there in about an hour. To my amazement, they had used their feet to grid an area about 30’x 30’ in the sand and even put a 6’ bullseye in the area they thought it might be! I got started, got a bunch of junk signals, and then called them over to watch when I got a nice sounding ring signal right on the edge of the bulleseye. I stirred the sand a little with the pinpointer and his ring appeared! They were happy, relieved and amazed with the speed of the find. I sure wish they were all this easy!!

Now they can enjoy the rest of their Labor Day vacation in our beautiful state!

I got a call a couple days ago from a lady in Colorado. Her son and daughter in law live in Vermont. A year and a half ago her husband was visiting Vermont helping to build an office in the “kids” barn, when he realized his wedding ring had fallen off. He had been working with insulation, hanging drywall, painting boards, etc.

It was a beautiful, engraved ring that he had worn for 40 years. They searched and after leaving, the son went through everything with no luck.

So, I went over today to do a search between the house and barn. Literally 2 minutes into the search, got a great signal, dug into the grass a little with my finger, and there it was. Still in perfect condition!

Class Ring Found in Vermont

A very bittersweet ring return.

Last Sunday, on my way home from a ring search for a client, I decided to detect the woods for an hour in hopes of finding something old and interesting. I also get exercise, relaxation and keep in practice with all my detectors this way.

Right at dark, I got a faint signal, and almost ignored it. It gave erratic numbers, and was hard to pinpoint. I was digging about 9” down, expecting to find a corroded piece of scrap metal, when my finger felt something slippery smooth. My heart skipped a couple beats, knowing what that felt like. I got my cell phone out and shined the light down into the hole. Sure enough, there was a gold ring down there. I pulled it out, cleaned it up a bit and could see it was a 1968 men’s class ring from a nearby high school.

Monday, I emailed the administration office and gave them the initials that were on the inside. Thursday they emailed back with his name and said his home was in the next town over.

So I found his number online and gave a call. The lady who answered was his mother and she had bad news for me. Her son had passed away in June from a serious health issue at only 72 years old. She also told me that her husband of 73 years had died in March. I don’t know how her heart could take it. She said it’s been a really tough year.

My wife and I went to her house today, she invited us in, and we had a really nice visit.

I’m hoping that in some small way, this ring might help her. My wife says everything happens for a reason.

Another Ring Found in Vermont Leaves

Got a call today from someone who’s name sounded very familiar. Then when she described her ring I immediately remembered finding that ring for her many years ago!

This ring was given to her by her mother when she was in graded school, so it really hurt not having it on her finger for the past week.

She nows has a 3-1/2 year old and was having a great time playing in a huge leaf pile with her. A little while later she realized the ring was missing.

So I went right over, she brought me to the leaf pile and I got started. Just minutes later I got a great signal with the right numbers. There it was, in the grass deep under the pile. She was so happy!

What a great weekend, reuniting 2 people with very sentimental rings!

Engagement Ring Recovered Near Shelburne Vermont

I received an email from a woman yesterday who had been house sitting for someone about a month ago. She had lost her paladium engagement ring and the matching wedding band. The owners of the home also had a family of goats.

One day after out feeding the goats, she discovered both her rings were missing. She went back out and searched by eye and found the larger wedding band, but not the beautiful little engagement ring. At some point she was able to borrow a metal detector, but had no luck with that.

She found my ad on The Ring Finders website, sent an email and made arrangements with the owner to allow us to go back and search.

We met there at noon today and got started. After a couple deep signals and about 5 minutes, a got a nice crisp tone that registered an 88/89 on my White’s detector. I knew this was it!! About 2-3” down in the bedding was her ring, I pulled it up and it sparkled in the bright sunlight. She got the biggest smile, and both rings were back together!

After a long Winter of searching for keys lost in the snow, it was nice to recover a very sentimental ring again!
