WITH HELP FROM FACEBOOK, SUCCESSFUL CLASS RING RETURN ON CLEARWATER BEACH, FLORIDA

Jhazmine was throwing a ball in the water on Clearwater Beach, when her 2006 gold class ring slipped off her finger!  The ring was very special to Jhazmine as her father had given it to her.  A week later, Howard Metts was on a fun hunt in the water at Clearwater Beach and found a gold 2006 class ring, with no school name on it, only the name « Jhazmine » and three initials on the inside.  Howard showed the ring to his daughter-in-law, Veronica Metts, who searched for « Jhazmine » on Facebook, and using the last initial on the ring, found a possible match!  Veronica sent Jhazmine a Facebook message asking if she had lost anything at Clearwater Beach.  Jhazmine responded the next day!  A few days later, Howard delivered the ring to a very happy Jhazmine at her place of work making for a great reunion! Go Team Metts! That’s how you do it! Great sleuthing and effort to both of you!

LOST RING RECOVERED IN INDIAN SHORES BEACH, FLORIDA

Fred was enjoying the beach with his partner, John, playing catch with a ball. When Fred went to make a catch. he felt his ring come off his finger.  The water was murky and too hard to search so they sadly went home without Fred’s ring. The next day John found SRARC on Google and  SRARC Ring Finder member, Stan Flack, was notified.  Stan arranged for Ed Osmar, Mike Shuler and himself to meet John at the beach.  After about an hour of hunting, Stan was lucky enough to find the ring.  A very happy and excited John could not wait to tell John the great news! Hugs all the way around! Another great effort, guys!

NOT …. HOPELESS IN CLEARWATER BEACH WITH RECOVERED RING

NOT …. HOPELESS IN CLEARWATER BEACH WITH RECOVERED RING!

Having unsuccessfully hunted for Sarah’s ring several weeks previously, SRARC Ring Finder member, Stan Flack, had recommended that Sarah put an ad on Craigslist with just enough detail to describe her ring, a general location in hope that another detectorist might have already found it and would see it on Craigslist.

Fast forward two weeks later, SRARC Ring Finder member, Mike Shuler, was out for a fun hunt, unaware of the existence of this ring or that anyone was looking for it. Mike hit a loud unfamiliar tone, and two scoops later he was holding the nicest ring he had ever found!  When Mike got home, he went straight to Craigslist’s Lost & Found section and  typed in « platinum » and was instantly looking at a photo of the ring in his hand!

In the ad, the owner said she had lost the ring exactly three weeks earlier, while playing catch with her kids in the water. Sarah had received a number of disappointing responses, so she didn’t reply the first time Mike tried to contact her. Once Mike said he was affiliated with SRARC, Sarah contacted Mike. Even then, Sarah wanted to see a picture of the ring. Mike sent her a couple of photos, to which Sarah responded with this message:

« I cannot believe you have found my ring! I am overcome with emotion. I thought I would never see it again. Let me gather myself together and I will call you to discuss how we can get it back to me. I truly can’t thank you enough. You are testament that there are still good people in the world. You are truly a blessing. Thank you, thank you, thank you. »

Just goes to show you to never give up on those lost rings because you just never know.  Very proud to have you on the team, Mike!

Maria was at Pass-A-Grille Beach with family enjoying a hot July day when she suddenly felt her ring slip off her finger! Thinking quickly, Maria asked her cousin to stand where she thought she dropped the ring as the others tried to find it. Neighborly Assist In Ring Recovery, North Redington Beach, Florida

Like a good neighbor, Kenny is there!  Eric was floating on a paddleboard with his daughter, picking up shells in shallow water when he felt his ring slide of his finger! The ring immediately went out of site. Fast forward 1o days later, when Eric mentioned to his neighbor, Kenny, that his ring was long gone and he was going to buy a new one. Last year, Kenny had witnessed SRARC in action when he watched them detect and find woman’s ring right at the hotel next to his condo. Kenny urged Eric to contact SRARC. Eric was reluctant and felt the ring was surely lost forever. Kenny, not giving up, walked to the Doubletree Hotel, made some inquiries about the metal detectorists he had previously observed. The desk clerk had SRARC’s card on file and provided the necessary contact information to Kenny.   Stan Flack got the call and a team was formed.  Stan and team members Ed Osmar, Paul Hill, Jerry Schneider and Mike Shuler met early on a Sunday morning and were determined to find that ring!  After about 15 minutes, Mike called the guys over to show them he had indeed found the ring!  Eric was stunned upon hearing the news that his ring, lost 10 days ago on a busy Fourth of July holiday, had actually been found! Mike is a Tampa fireman and made arrangements to meet Eric in Tampa to return the ring.  Eric’s children joined him and were excited to be in the fire station.  Great tenacity and team work, guys!  Everyone should have a neighbor like Kenny!
