Lost Gold Wedding Ring Found Minnesota

  • from Twin Cities Metro (Minnesota, United States)

Cian and his wife went out for a jog around a Minneapolis park. After returning home, he noticed his gold wedding band was missing. He searched the internet for help and discovered theringfinders.com and promptly gave me a call. Cian told me he had gloves on while jogging and remembers taking them off just prior to reaching his car. He had in his mind, that the ring came off when he removed his gloves and had to be in a 50 yard by 50 yard area of the park grass. I told him to check his gloves as I have found rings hiding in them before. He said he checked and the ring wasn’t there. 50 by 50 yards is a pretty large area to detect. I came up with a plan to grid search near his car first and then slowly move down a hill to a sidewalk they had been jogging on. This park was established almost 120 years ago and has a lot of lost coins/trash/everything. Not trying to sound pompous here, though we ring finders have decades of experience and have a knowledge of the tones our metal detectors are giving us. If I were to dig every piece of metal, I would be in that park for weeks if not months. After an hour and half of detecting, I knew the ring was not here. I told Cian, we’ve ruled out this place, so you can focus on your car and house for the search. As I was driving home, Cian text me with some great news. He found the ring, and it was in his gloves. He said he patted them down prior to my search and when he got home after the search, he decided to put them on and the ring was hiding in the finger tip of the glove. Of-course I don’t count this one as a ring finders find, though I helped him clear the area he was so focused on which gave him the drive to look elsewhere.

Congratulations Cian, glad you have your wedding band back where it belongs!

Lost Wedding Band Recovered Coon Rapids Minnesota

Brett took a day for some fall clean up in his backyard. He was closing down the pool, getting ready for the long winter ahead. Shutting off the valves, his hands got wet with that freezing cold pool water of October in Minnesota. While shaking his hands off, he felt his platinum wedding ring slip off and heard the sound of metal hitting the concrete. He figured the ring either bounced into the pool or on the lawn next to the concrete. After searching the pool, he knew it had to be in the lawn somewhere. He searched and searched to no avail. This happened 3 years ago in 2022 and as life gets busy, he put the search on hold. Fast forward three years to 2025. Brett was chatting with a friend and his lost ring came up in the conversation. His friend said he had heard about a service that finds lost valuables for people. So, Brett searched google and theringfinders.com came up with my name & contact information. He gave me a call, explained the situation and I headed out to his place. I had Brett show me exactly where his ring came off and where he thought it might be. After years of blowing leaves, mowing the lawn, raking….it really could be anywhere. I started the search with my E-Trac metal detector and got a couple of high pitch « nice hits », though I knew these were coins lost recently. Years of experience tells me that platinum gives off a nice low tone almost exactly as gold. I kept moving along the grass next to the concrete and I got a beautiful low tone in my ears. It was a strong tone also, telling me that the object is close to the surface. I knelt down, pulled out my Minelab pinpointer and figured out exactly where to dig. I dug a small circular hole only an inch or so deep, pulled back the grass and there was that beautiful platinum ring shining in the sunlight.

Congrats on getting your ring back where it belongs Brett, truly glad I could help out.

Metal Detecting Minnesota Ring Recovery Lost ring Found.

Keith, his family and friends were out for a pontoon ride on a local lake in Minnesota. They decide to stop at an island that boasted a sandy and shallow water swim/play area. He was in the water about waist deep playing football with the kids and playing with the pup. They finished up and boarded the pontoon when he noticed his wedding band was missing from his finger. They got back in the water and searched to no avail. Fast forward a day a two and Keith’s buddy Jeff was searching the internet on ways to find the ring, when he came across the « theringfinders » website. Jeff told Keith about the website, and he called me right away. We discussed the best way to go about the search and decided scuba diving, « though it was pretty shallow water » would be the best chance of recovery. We decided to do a grid search using a 20-foot rope that Keith and Jeff held across the water, and I scuba/searched under the rope. As I finished one spot, they would move 6 feet and we kept this up for an hour or so until I got that awesome tone of Gold on my metal detector. Congrats on getting your ring back!!! Glad I could help out; it was nice meeting both of you. Thanks for the help on the grid search, it worked out perfectly.

Take Care –
