Lake Tahoe Metal Detector Specialist Tag | The Ring Finders

Lost gold Italian Horn Pendant recovered and returned to the Owner. The significance and loss circumstances of this gold pendant were posted by the owner on Facebook. I reached out and offered to help find his pendant.
This search turned out to be a very difficult recovery—mainly because of the large search area—and took almost three and half hours of underwater metal detecting at about ten feet deep.
The client was very relieved and so very happy to be wearing his pendant again.

Got a text at 6:30am requesting a water search for a lost gold wedding ring offshore at Kings Beach. At that moment I was just arriving at Creek Beach, on the east shore of Lake Tahoe, to begin an underwater search for a lost gold pendant.
Knowing that Kings Beach gets hit hard by metal detectorists every day, I switched gears and immediately started the climb back to the parking lot and drove over to Kings Beach. Once I arrived, the client—who was in waist deep water searching—came back to the beach and shared the when/how/where of his lost gold wedding ring.
I geared up and got into the water to begin the first grid sweep of a fairly large search area. Halfway out to the farthest point—a red buoy—I got a solid 72 on my XP Deus 2 metal detector. I can only wish all water recoveries were that fast. Usually they take hours and hours.
The client was very relieved and happy to have his wedding ring back on his finger.

 

While I was in the Truckee River searching for a different wedding ring, near the River Ranch raft take-out, I got a voicemail requesting help finding another lost wedding ring in the Truckee River.
This new client described the ring loss location, which turned out to be six tenths of a mile upstream in a deep eddy. She sent the pinned map location via a text message. After driving the short distance, I was able to find parking and walk down to the river bank. Four ducks welcomed me as I donned my fins and diving mask, obviously expecting me to provide breakfast. Within five minutes, (using my blu3 Nemo dive system and XP Deus 2 metal detector), I was able to detect and scoop up the Sterling Silver Citrine Wedding Ring that was buried in sand about seven feet underwater.
The client was very happy to have her wedding ring back on her finger.
