Gold Wedding Ring Lost, Found and returned in the Richloam Wildlife Management Area, Florida

Gold Wedding Ring lost, Found, and Returned in the Richloam Wildlife Management Area, Florida

Nate was out scouting for a deer stand in the Richloam Wildlife Management Area (WMA) when his 4×4 lost its front bumper in a mud hole. While retrieving his bumper he lost his flip flop in the thick mud. Nate was able to get his flip flop back and proceeded to drive on when he realized that his wedding band was no longer on his finger. He went back and tried to find the ring but it just wasn’t to be.
A friend referred him to a detectorist who had helped him in the past. That didn’t work out so he posted to an online website for help. Member Paul Hill responded when he received the email alert and a time of 8am was established to meet at Nate’s house the next morning. Paul drove from St. Pete to Zephyrhills and then they both proceeded to the mud hole in Nate’s 4×4 truck which was about another 30 mins away.
When they reached the site, Paul broke out his ETrac and propointer and headed out to the area where Nate was standing to mark the spot. After about 10-12 minutes Paul worked the third target to the back of the coil and used the taped up propointer to find the gold.
Nate was relieved and very excited to get his ring back!
Thanks Paul for going the extra mile(s).

Engagement Ring Lost, Found, and Returned at Indian Rocks Beach, Florida

Engagement Ring Lost, Found, and Returned at Indian Rocks Beach, Florida

On a Saturday, my fiancée and I were hanging out on the beach near the edge of the water. I thought it would be fun to roll into the water but did not realize how hard the waves were crashing. Before I knew it my ring slipped off and into the water. I looked around, but could not find it. My friends and fiancée also tried to help me, but we had no luck due to the choppy conditions. The next day my fiancée did a search for, “missing rings in Largo, Fl”, and that’s when he found Ring Finders! He went to the Suncoast Research and Recovery Club page and sent an email in hopes that someone could help. Stan immediately contacted him and got more information. We were not able to go out the following day, but that Tuesday we arrived at the same location we lost it around 6pm. I was praying that no one had found it already, but after a 20-minute search, Chris had indeed found something!

I was beyond ecstatic and we are so grateful for Stan, Chris, and Ed for helping me get my lost ring back. I thought for sure it was lost forever so we want to thank all the volunteers at Suncoast Research and Recovery Club for all they do and hope they can continue finding treasures for many years to come!

Clearwater Gardeners Lost Ring Recovered

During Sandy’s morning walk her fingers swelled from the humid air.  Sandy decided to take her ring off and put it in her pocket.  After her morning walk, Sandy decided to go right to the back yard and get some yard work done.  After cleaning the planter beds, mulching and starting to do some pressure washing she noticed her ring was missing from her pocket.  Knowing her son Josh had a friend that was a ringfinder, she called him for help.  Josh filled Stan Flack in and a time to meet in the backyard the next day was set.  Stan checked the plant beds, the bag of yard trash and mulch.  All that was left was the lawn between the back door and where Sandy had been working.  Five minutes on the lawn and the ring was found.  Smiles all the way around.  Sandy is a happy camper.

Three rings lost then recovered in Clearwater

Through a series of accidents, Ashley managed to lose three of her precious rings in the yard. She found SRARC on The Ring Finders and we scheduled a recovery attempt. Howard Metts, Stan Flack, Ed Osmar and Mark Prue all responded to the call and had the three rings back in Ashley’s hands in very short order. Ashley let us know how she felt in her own words below.

I just want to take the time out to say thanks so much for coming to help me find my 3 rings. I never thought it would be possible to master the impossible. Before hearing about you, I thought I had no chance or hope of finding them. You have truly blessed me and I thank God for such an amazing club fulfilling the work of God. You are a blessing to many so for that we Thank you! You all rock.

Clearwater Daycare Diamond Stud Earring Recovered

Vanessa was out on the playground supervising the preschool children during recess. As kids will do they were running around and having a good time chasing each other. Vanessa knelt down and one of the children run up to her and gave her a big hug. She stood up and moved to another location to keep an eye on some of the other children. Sensing something was amiss, she reached up to her ear and felt something hit her hand. She looked down and there was the back to her Diamond earring. She frantically looked for the earring and asked the rest of the staff and children to help her look. They found nothing. Vanessa went to a store and purchased an inexpensive metal detector and soon discovered that she didn’t know how to operate it. She searched the internet for help and found SRARC, She made contact with Mike Miller and he put together a team which included Rick Magyar, Ed Osmar, Chris Duerden, and  Tom Jones. They searched that afternoon until the rain ran them out. The next day they returned and hunted for another hour and all of a sudden Mike got lucky. We are so happy that we were able to find and return Vanessa’s Diamond Stud and she was nothing but smiles when we dropped it into her hand. The kicker is that in the process of hunting we found a ring and pendant that had been lost by other staff members and were able to return them as well. Great Job Team!!!!!!

Thrown Away Wedding Ring Returned in Tampa, Florida

Bridgett was sitting on her front porch talking to her husband on the phone. She was a bit upset that he left for work without his wedding band.  The emotions got the best of her and she ended up taking her ring off and throwing it into the front yard! She and her husband searched the entire yard and could not find the ring.

Lucky for her she went to the internet and looked up “how to find a ring in the grass”. SRARC’s Ring Finder number came up.  She made the call and a team was put together.  Mike Miller and Paul Hill arrived about 1 pm that very day.  After about 30 minutes or so Bridgett went inside to check on her two little ones and started to cry thinking that they would not be able to find it.  Shortly after she returned to the front porch Paul Hill asked her “if it looked like this?”  She was so excited and relieved. What fun it was for us to be able to return a smile to her face.

Sand Key Platinum Wedding Ring Returned

We took a trip to Clearwater in September, and one of the highlights was getting to take our 18-month-old son to the ocean for the first time. His experience was great, but after an hour of wading in the surf and walking up and down the beach I noticed that my wedding ring was gone. We did some halfhearted searching, but really didn’t expect much luck finding one small item in the ocean. That night we posted on Craigslist. That also seemed like a long shot, but we figured that the ring has a specific inscription, and if someone else found it and wanted to contact us Craigslist might give them a way. In the morning we had two responses — one from Stan at Ring Finders saying he’d be happy to meet us and search together, and a second from someone else saying « you should take down your ad and contact Ring Finders ».

Timing was tough for us. This was the last day of the vacation, and we had to navigate the toddler’s sleep schedule and make it to church before we left town. Still, Stan said he had a 95% success rate if we came and helped narrow the search area, and while that sounded impossibly high it gave us enough hope to give it a try. So we met Stan back at the beach, explained where we had been the day before, and let him start searching. He suggested that we stick around for an hour in case any other memories came to us, and after that he’d spend another hour before bringing others down to help search. We discussed the location a little more, and decided, based on landmarks like « this hole here, and that sign over there », that he was in about the right spot. We were just explaining that to Stan when he said, « hold on, I’ve got something right here. » He scooped up some sand, drained it, and handed my ring back to me with a smile. We couldn’t believe it. The total search was maybe 15 minutes, which turned out to be especially important that day. We’re adopting a second child, and that same afternoon we got word that the mother had gone into labor early so we took the next flight out. Without Stan’s quick response, his availability to meet us right away, and the short search time, our window would have closed and we would have left town without ever finding the ring. He was exactly the right person at the right time. Thanks Stan!

Soccer Field Wedding Ring Recovery, Palm Harbor, Florida

Brian was having a great Sunday Soccer game until he was headed home and noticed he no longer had his wedding ring. He returned to look for it and even considered renting a metal detector but then he  discovered there was a club that offered to recover lost items. He sent an email and Mike Miller responded and then set up a hunt of the entire soccer field for the following Saturday morning. Paul Hill, Howard Metts, Elmer Stennes, and Mike showed up for the hunt. We hunted the entire field and after 3 hours Paul found the missing ring. Brian could not believe the dedication we had in searching for the ring and was very pleased with the result. As you can see by his smile he is very happy to have his wedding ring back on his finger. Way to go guy’s !!!!!!!!

Lost Heirloom Ring Recovered From Yard

Stan had just gotten out of the water in Indian Shores last night and was still parked in the lot when his friend Helen called and with a jest in her voice asked if this was the ring finders hot line.  Why yes it is, you lose something Ms. Helen?  A ring in my yard…possibly.  So off he went to her house still dripping wet.  Stan was joined by his wife and detecting assistant, Linda who thought they were both joking.  The Camp’s live around the block from them, so it’s on the way home.  Pulled up, asked her the usual questions and narrowed the area down.  Turned out to be her moms ring, a family heirloom.  Stan found her mothers teeny tiny ring in about 30 seconds.  She’s a happy camper thanks to one of our dedicated members.
