Got a voicemail on Thursday from a lady who had lost her wedding ring about 10 days earlier. It was lost somewhere in a Summer camp “village” on the shore of Lake Champlain. She wasn’t worried about someone walking off with it because it’s a small, private area where everybody knows each other, so we made plans for me to go search on the weekend.
Her ring was very special not only because it was her wedding band, but also because her husband had made it for her!
So, I went there this morning, met some of her family and a lot of nice, helpful people. She was back home out of state and couldn’t be here today. I searched the 2 areas where she thought she may have lost it, near a swing set and in the water near the dock, with no luck. So, I decided to expand and search the likely foot routes she may have walked around the village. After about 3 hours, I needed to think about stopping, because of pain from an ailment I’m dealing with. Then the perfect signal happened! I moved the grass and pressed fully into the dirt was a gold ring. I dug it out, cleaned it off and called her with the good news. I guess a car or truck must have drove over it, but it was fine.
I’ll be able to give it to her soon when she returns for another visit.
