Double Ring Recovery at Manasquan Volleyball Tournament – Engagement Ring and Wedding Band Found by NJ Ring Finder Edward Trapper

I was finishing up a recovery on Long Beach Island (LBI) when I received a desperate call from Kasia. She and her husband, Joey, were in Manasquan for a volleyball tournament when a sudden storm rolled in, postponing the matches. Once the lightning cleared and play resumed, the rain continued as a slow drizzle—leaving everyone’s hands soaked.

After the last game ended, Joey noticed his wedding band was missing. As soon as he said that out loud, Kasia instinctively looked down and realized her beautiful engagement ring was gone too. Panic set in as the sun began to set.

Thankfully, she had my number handy and reached out right away, hoping I could come immediately. I told her I was finishing up a recovery but would head to Manasquan as soon as I was done. She assured me she’d send her number once she got back to the car—but when I finished up about 15 minutes later, I didn’t see any message. I called the number she had originally used, and the gentleman who answered promised to relay the message. Minutes later, Joey called me directly.

He explained the situation again, echoing what Kasia had told me. I let him know I could be there in about 30 minutes, and we agreed to meet outside a nearby pizza parlor. Joey knew exactly which volleyball court they had been playing on, and once I arrived, we walked straight there.

He pointed out the area where he believed his ring had come off, and I began my search on that side of the court. Surprisingly, I didn’t find the ring where we expected—but I did locate it on the opposite side. Joey was relieved, but also anxious to find Kasia’s engagement ring, which held deep sentimental value.

I finished scanning that half of the court, then moved to the other side. About halfway through, I got a sweet signal that had “ring” written all over it. Sure enough, as I sifted through the sand—there it was.

I turned around and showed the ring to Joey, who was completely shocked and beyond grateful.

Another great reminder: don’t wait when jewelry goes missing. The faster you act, the better the chances of a successful recovery. Kasia and Joey did the right thing by calling immediately—and it paid off!
