Gold heirloom engagement ring lost in St Paul – Now found!

  • from Saint Paul (Minnesota, United States)

Karla was raking up leaves and pulling some weeds in her back yard when she noticed her engagement ring was missing. It was a very sentimental ring because it belonged to her husband’s grandmother. The ring fit loosely and Karla was sure it had slipped off somehow during the process taking her gloves off and putting them back on several times as she worked.

Karla did a very thorough job searching. She kept all the leaves and weeds and debris in one place and searched it all thoroughly. She even rented a metal to detector, but it kept going off on random metal objects and was ultimately no help. She even searched all of the gloves she had just to be sure the ring wasn’t inside one of them.

I agreed to come out to search after work. We searched all of the likely areas where Karla was working and then searched it all again to no avail. So we widened our search area and soon after I got the familiar sound of gold on my metal detector. The ring was laying in the grass well away from where we figured it should be. Karla was thrilled to get her ring back on her finger!

Moemi had both of her rings safe in a ring box in her house until her little one grabbed the box and ran outside. As he was running, the box flew out of his hands and came open – both rings flying into the tall grass yard.

Noemi and her husband, Matt, searched the tall grass where the box landed to no avail. After weed eating the grass down, they tried again, but still no rings. So Matt mowed the lawn down some and they searched again.

After 6 hours of searching (some of it with a rented metal detector), Matt contacted me. I came out that afternoon and within 20 minutes found both rings about a foot away from each other buried deep in the grass. It was great to get those rings back to Moemi.

Heavy platinum band lost in Minneapolis – Now found!

Jen was in her back yard doing some yard work. She was wearing her friend’s platinum ring and, while flinging stuff off her back porch, she felt the ring fly off her hand and into the snow. After searching a couple hours, she rented a metal detecting hoping that she could locate the ring. But the metal detector was beeping all the time and she didn’t know what to dig or pass up.

Jen contacted me the next day and I agreed to meet her that early evening to find the ring. The first thing I noticed while searching was that the yard had a lot small pieces of metal in it like many do. My detector beeping constantly, just like Jen’s, but I concentrated only on the signal a platinum ring would make. After about an hour, I found the ring buried in the snow about a foot away from the porch.

Jen was very happy to see the ring again and I was glad to have found it amongst all that metal trash.

I was in the water metal detecting last weekend when I found a 1930 Roosevelt High School Minneapolis class ring. It didn’t take long to find out who lost it; His name and picture were in the 1930 Roosevelt High School yearbook senior pictures. With a little help from a friend, I found the owner’s son, who is 74 years old. It’s now on its way to Victorville, CA!

Steve was both shocked and thrilled to learn about the ring and he was very happy to get it back.

After a swim with his two young girls at a beach in a state park, Ben noticed that his wedding band was missing. Ben, his wife and girls spent about an hour searching for it on the sandy bottom, but couldn’t find it.

Ben called me the next day and we agreed to meet that eventing at 5PM. With Ben’s help keeping me in the correct boundaries, I grid searched the areas that were away from the place when Ben spent most of his time in the water and where Ben’s girls said ring likely was. After about an hour and a half of searching that area, we moved inside the main swimming area where the girls told Ben to search. I got the familiar tone of a gold/platinum ring after about 45 minutes and had the ring in the scoop. After handing ring to Ben, I yelled jokingly ‘Why didn’t you just listen to your girls!’.

It was a great feeling to find the ring for Ben and hearing the girl’s laughter after I teased Ben made my day.

Big Platinum Mens Wedding Band Lost in RoseVille, MN – Now Found!

Will was doing all kinds of yard work in his big back yard when, after a few hours, he noticed that is wedding ring was missing. He looked all over for it, but just couldn’t find it. He told his brother about it and his bother said ‘We have the internet. Google « lost ring finder » and see who can come look for it.’ That’s how Will knew to contact me.

Will texted me and I had to tell him I was sick and couldn’t come look for couple days. I decided that the best thing to do was to ask a buddy to go search. He searched for about two hours with no luck and a lot of mosquito bites.

Knowing that the yard was really big, I decided to bring two friends (and bug spray) to help search and, after about 45 minutes,  Susanne found it in the woods about 20 feet outside the back yard fence. The ring must have gone flying while Will was tossing branches over the fence.

It really does pay to get to get help when hunting for a ring lost in a big area. John and I were happy, but Susanne and Will were absolutely thrilled.

It was really cold and there was snow on the ground and Jordan was shaking snow off his hand when he felt his ring go flying off somewhere into the snow. Jordan contacted me soon after and we searched his back yard and surrounding area thoroughly several times to no avail. After the snow melted, it was Jordan who found the ring. It had flown much farther than either of us thought possible. It was in the grass by a patio two units down!

Natasha took her dog for training at a church and then went to get some some lunch. That was when she notice that her rings were gone. They are big and heavy platinum and are soldered together. She went back to the church and checked the parking lot and inside the church but couldn’t find the rings.

Natasha messaged me the next morning and I agreed to meet her at the church that afternoon. I started searching about 20 feet from where Natasha had parked her car and worked toward where she got out of the car. After about 40 minutes of searching I found the ring buried about an inch down in the mud.

Natasha thrilled to get her ring back!

Zach was walking his dog in his yard in the snow when, after shaking snow off his hands, he noticed that his wedding band was missing. He rented a metal detector to find it, but came up empty-handed. He contacted 4 days later and I met him at his house the following morning.

We searched the obvious spot (where Zach shook his hands) and spread out about 10 feet from that spot. Having no luck, we decided to grid search the front, back and side yards but still no ring. As a last resort I asked Zach to rake all the snow away from two metal poles that were in his front yard. While Zach raked, I searched a couple less likely spots and found the ring near the house and about 15 feet away from where Zach shook his hands. Neither of us thought the ring could have flown that far! Next time I get the chance to search for a ring, I will search a little farther out from the most likely spot.

Zach was very happy to have his ring back on his finger.

Billy was doing some garden cleanup in his back yard. He put his wedding ring in his pocket but, after taking a break on his deck, he checked his pocket and the ring was gone. He looked all over the yard and even rented a metal detector but couldn’t find the ring.

After about 2 months, Billy texted me. The ground was frozen, but we decided it would be better to find it sooner rather than later. I searched the garden area first with no hits but found the ring half buried on the frozen dirt just under the grass next to the garden. I was glad that ring wasn’t going to be outside all winter long!
