Lost Wedding Ring in Mankato Minnesota Lake Recovered

  • from Twin Cities Metro (Minnesota, United States)

Scuba diving search for a lost wedding ring in lake Washington, Mankato Minnesota.

Adam had only been married for 3 months; While he was getting his boat ready for the 2016 season, his ring slipped off into the water. Adam’s Dad, Randy, met me out at the lake and showed me the spot. It wasn’t too deep though there were a lot of obstructions in the area. He lost it right off the dock, which is metal, and right near a metal boat lift and concrete block. Trying to recover this ring with a water scoop would have been impossible. Luckily « for me » the water here in Minnesota has just turned warm enough to scuba comfortably, I was only in approx. 4 feet of water but the ring was right on the edge of a submerged concrete block. My metal detector picked up the signal and after a couple minutes or so, I felt the ring. The water had zero visibility, so it was a « feel » recovery. Really glad I could help out Adam – By the way, it was a pleasure meeting your Dad – What a great guy and tell him thanks so much for his Military Service!!!

Lost Wedding Ring Found Minneapolis

I was contacted by Len (pronounced Lynn)  – She had lost her White Gold Diamond Wedding Ring while walking to her car from work. We were in the midst of a winter storm here in Minnesota and Len slipped on a drive way and fell. I believe the ring must have slipped off as she shook her hands clean from the snow. People were out in force shoveling snow from sidewalks and driveways. This made the search more difficult as we were sure the ring had been shoveled into a larger pile of snow. Len and her husband met me at the site and as I scanned with my trusty Minelab E-Trac metal detector, they started shoveling big snow banks into smaller ones. We had assessed the situation and started in the most likely snow bank, it wasn’t there. So, we moved onto the 2nd. Len was quite determined as she was shoveling snow like a Pro! She was about halfway through a big pile when I heard that great sound of Gold from my detector. Out popped her Wedding Ring, Len gave me a big bear hug – That’s the best part of being a ring finder, seeing that huge smile and knowing you have made someone so happy!

Congrats Len, truly glad I could help out.

Sara called about her husbands lost White Gold / Diamond wedding band. Lost at a local play area while out with the kids. Hard to explain, though the ring was just a bit deeper than my detector can scan, I have an in-line sunray probe which I can get just a bit deeper into the play area  – My last try and I very luckily scanned it – This was a one in a million shot, and it paid off!! Congrats to you and your husband Sara, so glad I could help out.

Eric was out on an afternoon pheasant hunt with his friends and trusty dog. After taking down a rooster and his dog retrieving the bird for him – Eric’s hands were wet and full of feathers. He recently lost 60 pounds and his wedding ring was already loose on his finger. When he decided to shake his hands free of the feathers, he also shook off his ring. He and his friends searched to no avail. They decided to rent a metal detector and come back for another search. The search yielded a bunch of spent shotgun shells but no ring. While doing an internet search for metal detectors, Eric came across « THE RING FINDERS.com » and made note of it. He contacted me after all his attempts at locating the ring didn’t pan out – We met down at the hunt club and walked to the area he marked. I think it took less than 2 minutes of searching and Eric’s wedding band was back where it belongs. Congrats Eric and it was truly nice to meet you, prayers for a long happy marriage.

Lost Wedding Ring Recovery Minnesota

Matt gave me a call and informed me of the following  » I lost my wedding ring last weekend in about 8 feet of water as I was reattaching our water trampoline to its concrete block anchors ». I had a busy schedule and luckily the ring was lost in a private dock area, I was able to meet Matt the next weekend and search the area. It was a quick dive, truly about 2 minutes. Matt had removed the chains from the blocks and marked the area with a buoy tied to a rope. This helped out as the ring was found right next to the blocks,  if the chains had still been attached; it would have masked the tones from my metal detector. Thanks for preparing the site Matt!!!  Glad I could help out  –

1950 Class Ring Returned, Missing for 64 years.

  • from Twin Cities Metro (Minnesota, United States)

I was conducting an underwater scuba search for a lost wedding ring. As usual, I will find many different items on my searches. I was approx. 25 feet deep in an area that was sandy, though under the thin layer of sand was a foot of muck. My detector made a strong sound, I knew it was either a coin or a ring by the tone. Digging in muck really clouds the water and makes it very difficult to recover items. I was trying to clear the area by waving clear water into my hole and I caught a glimpse of this large gold ring. It wasn’t what I was looking for, though it was a nice to see! I cleaned the ring up and got a closer look, it was 1950 St. Thomas Academy Jostens Class Ring. 18 Grams of 10K Gold. The next day I started my search online and it only took me about 5 Minutes to find the name that went with the initials sketched in the ring. I found out he was living in Fort Worth Texas and is now 82 years old. I contacted him and he was quite surprised to say the least. He couldn’t remember the exact lake he had lost the ring in, though he remembered losing it the summer he bought it in 1950.

The ring is now on it’s way to it’s rightful owner. Congrats and I’m glad I could help out in recovering your lost valuable.

Lost Wedding Ring Northern Minnesota

Ken searched the internet for help in finding his wedding ring, which was lost as he was swimming in approx. 6 feet of water in a northern Minnesota lake. He came across the ring finders and my blog. I talked with Ken and told him that it was a bad time for me as my « real job » is so busy right now and he lost his ring about 4 hours from me. I contacted Scott Juusola who is another ring finder in my area and he was also too busy to head up that way. He told me of a diving buddy of his who also metal detects and lives up north. So, I gave the information to Ken and as you see by the PIC – All is well again!!! Thanks to the ring finders web service, another happy couple celebrating the return of their lost valuable. White Gold Diamond Ring Found Austin Minnesota

Gina and her fiancé were out doing yard work when she noticed her diamond engagement ring was missing from her finger. They decided to rent an Ace 250 metal detector and try searching the yard. Lot’s of targets but no luck. As all of the experienced metal detectorists know, it’s a long learning curve to actually work a metal detector correctly. There are so many targets including coins, trash, pull tabs, cans etc. – you really need to know what your listening for in these types of areas. Gina found the ring finders web site on the internet and left me a message. I was able to meet up with her the next morning for a search. We needed to search the front yard, side yard and boulevard. After an hour or so with no luck I searched just a bit out of our search area in a tall grassy weedy area – Thanks Gina for getting out that weed whipper! A couple more sweeps of my trusty Minelab E-Trac and out popped this beautiful ring! So glad it was found for you Gina, you are a sweetheart and I pray for a long and happy marriage for you and your fiancé!

Take Care – Darrin
