Lost in the water at a private dock in northern Minnesota – Recovered via the ring finders website. Congrats!

 

Lisa and her family were out enjoying a nice Minnesota day on their pontoon, they decided to stop at a sand bar in the middle of the lake to get in the water and play a little catch with the kids. While Lisa was tossing the football with her daughter, her engagement ring popped off into the water. They enlisted the help of some other people in the area and searched to no avail. One of the other people helping out told Lisa about theringfinders.com and when she got back to the cabin, she brought up the website and shot me an email. We set up a day and time to search and met up at the cabin. Lisa’s neighbors were gracious enough to take us out on their pontoon to the sand bar. We jumped into approx. waist deep water and started searching. After an hour and quite a few pennies, pop tops and pull tabs; Lisa’s daughter told us that she remembered being more into the shallow area, only around two feet deep or so. We started searching in the shallow water and almost immediately that beautiful engagement ring was in my scoop.  Really glad I could help you out Lisa, say thanks again to your neighbors and thanks so much to the hero of the day – Your daughter 🙂

Burt lost his ring in the lake behind his home. He was swimming in approx. 20 feet of water when he felt it slip off. He tread water for quite a while as to not lose where he lost the ring and his wife went to find a float and anchor to mark the spot. This was great thinking as it helps me get close while diving for the ring. Burt and his wife were heading out for a belated honeymoon to Europe in a couple days and Burt really wanted his ring for that trip. This recovery was tough, Minnesota has a « thermocline » – This means the water temperature really plummets at a certain depth. The ring was deep and I knew it would be very cold which limits search time. Another issue was the weeds and muck. As soon as you start searching the muck stirs up and it completely blinds you. After removing an old 10 foot long dock pole and some old beer cans, I got a solid hit. The ring was approx. 1 and half feet down into the muck. I think I got really lucky on this one, but either way it is back where it belongs, on Burt’s finger!

Jordan and his wife were enjoying their honeymoon in Minnesota, hitting the local lakes. While swimming at a popular Minneapolis lake, Jordan felt his brand new platinum wedding ring slip off his finger. The area was approx. 5 to 6 feet deep. He borrowed some swim goggles and searched to no avail. Rings usually end up under the silt or sand right away, making it very hard to recover visually. After an internet search on how to find missing rings, « theringfinders.com » came up and in no time we had set up a search for the following morning. I met Jordan at the beach and discussed a plan of attack. It worked well as it only took 10 minutes and the lost wedding band was back where it belongs. Congrats Jordan, glad I could help out. While scuba diving and searching for lost valuables in a Minnesota lake, I found a class ring with the following information. 1964 – Harding High School and  « JF ». I called Harding high school and asked the librarian to pull the 1964 year book and look for the initials JF. There were actually two people with these initials. After contacting the 1st person, he informed me that he still had his class ring, so I knew for sure it was the next guy. I called James and left a message, to no avail. I figured he would probably think this is some kind of scam and not call me back. I researched his address and drove over to his house, luckily he was home. He couldn’t believe that I found his ring after 55 years in the lake. I told him, wherever you lost it, that’s where it going to be until someone recovers it. For anyone reading this post, please spread the word of  theringfinders.com to everyone you know. No matter how long your valuable has been missing, there’s always a chance of recovery.

Molly called me concerning her husbands lost wedding band. He was working in the back yard when he noticed it was missing. After they searched their yard with no luck, Molly decided to search the internet for a solution. She happened upon the ring finders web site. She found my information by searching USA/Minnesota/Twin Cites. I was able to search the same day she called and it took approximately 15 minutes to find the ring. The ring was recovered the day before Easter, Hopefully it made for some good conversation at your Easter get together. Happy I could help out, and I hope you had a great Easter day.

Joanne and her husband were having a family reunion at there place on the lake. They set up a volleyball net for a game in the water. While playing, their niece’s wedding ring popped off her finger into the water. The whole family searched for hours to no avail. Joanne did a search on the internet and found my name via the ring finders website. It was a short dive of maybe 20 minutes and I found the beautiful diamond wedding ring. I wish I could of been around to see your nieces face when she heard about the recovery. Congrats!!! Glad I could help.

Carol contacted me through the ring finders web site. She was picking up rocks in the water near her dock and throwing them onto shore . I believe it was for a landscape project. A few hours later, she noticed her wedding ring was missing. The only thing that made any sense, it must of slipped off in the water. I arrived at Carols lake home and we discussed where around the dock would be the best area to search. I dawned my scuba gear and jumped in.  It only took 10 minutes or so and I heard a great hit on my metal detector – The water visibility was terrible, so I grabbed a hand full of sand and rocks and waved in front of my detector. The object was in my hand. Slowly removing the other debris and brining my hand right up to my eyes, I saw the twinkling of the diamond. What an awesome feeling to find a lost valuable like this. Congrats Carol!

 

14 years ago, Amber was styling a friends hair at her home in Minnesota. She took her rings off as usual, though this time, her 2 year old daughter saw that shiny diamond and decided it would be fun to play with. She went outside to her play area and returned with no ring(of-course)  – Now back to the present. Amber & her husband are having their yard scraped and re-graded in a week or so. Amber thought it would be a good idea to look one final time for that lost wedding ring before it is gone forever. She found me on the ring finders website and we set a day for the search. I was there for approx. a half hour collecting the usual suspects (pennies, foil, pop-tops etc.) when I got a familiar deep tone. I knew this hit had a good chance of being the ring, I dug about 2 1/2 inches down and there is was. Beautiful Gold Diamond ring. Shiny and bright as ever, just a little dirt on it.
