Lost Rudder Lake Minnetonka Minnesota

  • from Twin Cities Metro (Minnesota, United States)

Joe called and asked if we could dive to find his sailboat rudder that had accidently dropped off as he was getting his boat out of  the water for the year. This was in 12 feet of water with pure muck and weeds. It was too tough with the thick weeds and muck to use a detector. We used a wooden rod to poke down into the muck and « feel » for it……after 40 minutes or so we found it. Here’s to great sailing next year!!!

Shakopee Minnesota lost platinum wedding band

  • from Twin Cities Metro (Minnesota, United States)

Bill was playing with his kids in the Corn Bin, a play area filled with corn about 25 yards long 10 yards wide and 3 feet deep. While pushing his hands into the corn his platinum wedding ring slipped off and the corn being like quicksand , it disappeared. Bill found Theringfinders.com on an internet search and gave me a call. I talked with the owner of the area and he was happy to let us come in and search before they opened the next day. After a 15 minute search, Bill had his Wedding band back on his hand. We also found a Tiffany’s wedding band and 2 Gold rings that had been lost a few weeks earlier. The owner called (from their lost and found) and all the rings, and a bracelet found their way back to the rightful owners! What a great day. Congrats to all who thought their priceless items were lost forever.

Lost Diamond Ring Lake Okauchee Wisconsin

  • from Twin Cities Metro (Minnesota, United States)

This was an exciting hunt! MaryRose contacted us about a 4 karat diamond ring that had been kicked off her hand accidently at a local gathering point on the lake. As with many rings that are lost in a lake, precise pinpointing of where the ring came off is key. A local news outfit actually took an airial photo of  the boat gathering that day out on the lake. (there must have been a hundered boats all hooked together). We took this photo and did some handy overlay work with different computer programs and  added GPS cordinates right where we believed to be the spot. Now comes the hard part; the ring would be lost in a section of the lake that is pure muck, approximately 3 -4 feet deep of muck and 6 -7 feet deep in water. As soon as we starting diving we could see beer & pop cans everywhere. We spent a total of 9 hours just removing cans, glasses and trash. Now we had the areas clean enough to do some serious detecting. We changed air tanks, dropped a PVC 10 X 10 grid we had made into the water and startted scanning. 10 minutes later we found it!!! What a beautiful ring. 18K that must have weighed close to 2 ounces and that incredible rock in the center. So glad we found it MaryRose, and thanks so much to your brother who helped out in this hunt and made this a smooth recovery!!!

Ellen was sitting out on her dock bench when her wedding ring slipped off her hand into the water.  Her Husband tried to find it, though it is a tough task with poor visibility in the water and the ring is easily hidden by the muck at the bottom of the lake. Ellen called the ring finders and it was a quick find. Only a few minutes. Glad we could help!

Lost Ring Minnesota Lake Elmo recovered

McKenzie was a bit angry at her boyfriend and decided to throw the Silver Heart ring he gave her out of the car window. It was a country road and traveling at 55 mph, so the chances of directing the ring finders to the exact spot was pretty slim. We used a method of recreating the ring being tossed out and this gives us an approx. distance the ring could travel from the road. Well, it all payed off as 15 minutes into the search we located the ring. It was very close to the spot McKenzie thought it would be. She was off by only 10 feet!! Happy to see that ring back on McKenzies finger…Now please keep it there!!!!Take Care!

Engagement Ring Willmar Minnesota Found

  • from Twin Cities Metro (Minnesota, United States)

Erica lost her ring near her driveway in the snow. Needless to say, December in Minnesota has a LOT of snow and the ring disappeared. They rented a metal detector and had no luck finding it. So, i traveled up to Willmar and searched the area for a couple hours to no avail. It had snowed quite a bit since she had lost it and snow is always moved around by shoveling and snow blowing. I talked it over with Erica and Andrew and told them I would come back and try in the spring. I always tell people, don’t give up hope, I have found quite a few rings on the 2nd and even 3rd try. The 2nd try was the charm in this search, the ring was right where we figured it would be. All i can figure is that the deep snow must have kept it from registering the first time I went up. Anyway, Erica and Andrew now have their engagement ring back were it belongs. Congrats to both of you and hopes for a long and happy marriage together. Take Care!

Chris recoverd Wedding RingMetal Detecting Lost Wedding Ring St Paul Minnesota

Melonie from St. Paul Minnesota called and said that her husband Chris had lost his wedding ring in a snowbank near an apartment building. They were « house sitting » for friends and while outside by the street; Chris’s gloves got snow in them and as he was shaking them off his ring flew off. This was a tough search because the ring was lost right were a car was parked and we couldn’t find the owner of the car to have them move it. As we all know, cars have just a bit of metal in them and we couldn’t get near it as the detectors go crazy. I decided to pull out my SunRay Probe and scan close to the car and after a 15 minute search, we found it. I really wish we could of taken a video of Chris’s reaction when we found it, he was so happy as this was a very special ring to him. The temp was so cold out that the video camera just wasn’t working out. Well…maybe next time. Hey Chris, happy we could locate it for you. Take Care.
