As it nearing winter in Minnesota, many people are out getting their yards cleaned up. John and his family were out raking and trimming trees when John noticed his wedding ring was gone. He found the ring finders web site and contacted me. Luckily I had taken a day off work for a couple other ring searches. I finished up my other searches and  headed up to New Hope for the yard search. I met with John’s wife and she explained the situation, I searched the back yard for 20 minutes or so and came up with nothing. I was walking up to search the side yard when John showed up. He told me they had also been in the front yard raking and bagging. So, we headed to the front, in less than 5 minutes I got that great sound in my headphones. Congats John, so glad i could help out.

Lindsay called about her lost Platinum Wedding Ring at a park in Maple Grove Minnesota. Her and her family were out enjoying a picnic when she was attacked by a wasp. Like most people, Lindsay frantically swatted at the critter and off flew her Wedding Ring. This was a specially made Platinum ring that had her husbands finger prints etched into it. A one of a kind ring, that’s for sure. I drove up to the park to meet Lindsay’s husband Joe. On the way, a fellow ring finder, Scott Juusola called me and said he was very close to the park; filling some scuba tanks. I asked him to join the hunt as parks have a lot trash, coins and pull tabs and that it can get very difficult to find a ring. Joe showed us the area by some picnic tables and we started the search. It took about 3 minutes and there it was. I believe Joe told me that it was either their anniversary or Lindsay’s B-Day tommorow (sorry I can’t remember, old timer with a bad memory) Hope this recovery helps make your day special.

Jay contacted me about her lost Diamond Wedding Band. She was at the fall festival and lost it in the corn pit. We have recovered many rings from the corn pit, though some rings get pushed down so far we can’t detect them. I drove out to the site as soon as I could, so the chances would be in our favor, and hopefully no one pushed the ring down out of range.  It didn’t take long and I got that strong Gold hit and there it was, only about 6 inches down into the corn. This is a beautiful ring Jay – Glad we could help you out!! Take Care.

Ben was out fishing with a buddy on Lake Minnetonka, they noticed a storm rolling in and decided to search for cover. Lake Minnetonka is a very large lake and it’s tough to get to a boat landing or back to your dock in a hurry. They found a dock that was covered and slipped his boat in and waited for the storm to pass. As he was taking off the securing ropes from the boat to the dock, his Platinum Wedding Band popped off his hand and into the lake. Ben borrowed some goggles and dove down to find his ring with no luck. He searched the internet and found the ring finders web site and gave me a call. We met over at the lake the next day and after 10 minutes of scuba – my trusty Excalibur metal detector got that sweet sound of Platinum. It was a beautiful day and a nice 10 to 15 minute boat ride out to the dive site. His wedding ring has only been on his finger for 3 months, glad we got it back on your finger Ben – Take Care and I hope to see you out on the Lake fishing sometime!

My family & I went up north Minnesota for our yearly vacation. We stayed at a resort on a lake and after chatting with the owners, we found out that a couple of people had lost there wedding rings while swimming in the beach area many years ago. Luckily I brough my scuba gear and detectors  » I never leave home without them » 😉 I found both missing rings within an hour of searching. These resorts have a lot of returning customers year after year. It just so happened that the owner of one of the rings was actually at the resort and we got to return that ring right away. The resort owners gave me the contact information for the other person who lost their ring and i contacted him. He has booked a stay up at the resort just a couple weeks away. I left the 2nd ring with the resort owners and I have not heard back. Though I am sure the ring made it back to the rightful owner. The owners said it was a great experience having the ring finders up there to find those lost valuable……….Glad we could help out!!!!!!

Michelle and Ron were out swimming at a friends cabin on lake Ann. Michelle noticed that her Engagement and Wedding band had slipped off her finger. Ron tried to locate the ring in the water, the water has no visibilty and the rings came off  approx. 4 -5 feet deep. He couldn’t find them, as it is nearly impossible because the weight of gold sends the rings into the muck or sand and they are completely covered immediately. Michelle searched for help on line and came across the ring finders web site. When Ron contacted me and told me the depth, I knew I had better bring the scuba gear. I searched the area Ron showed me in the lake for approx. an hour. I started to search just a bit deeper and heard that loud tone for gold. Out came the first ring, I circled the area and didn’t come up with the 2nd ring until I circled about 10 feet out from the first ring. The rings have a special family meaning to both Michelle and Ron and I was was glad I could help them out on this find – Take Care and Happy Anniversary, I know you said it was coming up soon!!!

The local Waconia newspaper was gracious enough to to a story on Team Finders and the Ring Finders last week. After reading the article, Stacy thought she would give us a try as her husband Bob had lost his Gold Diamond Wedding Band 4 years ago while raking and piling leaves in their compost pile. I went over to their house, only about a mile away -Which is very nice for a change. Usually I am traveling all over the State. Bob & Stacy showed me the area they were raking and where the compost pile was. It was actually a lightly wooded area which was easy to swing my detector through. I was searching and finding the usual suspects…..Pull tabs, foil, cans etc. I had covered the whole area we thought it would be and I decided to expand my search out another 10 feet or so. Right away I got a nice strong hit, I moved the top brush away with my shoe and i could see a ring. As I bent down closer, I could see it was exactly how Stacy had described it, A birds feather was lying right through the ring. Congrats on getting your Wedding band back Bob, thanks to Stacy for contacting me and thanks to the Waconia Patriot for writing the article on us.
