Cost For My Service
I work on a reward basis. That means you pay what it's worth to you to have me find your lost ring/jewelry. I have a call-out fee of $25 if the item is not found. This covers my fuel/equipment expenses. We can discuss this when you call.
Search Types
Beaches, parks, trails & yards. I can also do sustained dives down to 10 feet for shallow waters searches. Lost items in the snow? Please call. If you need a home/property searched for hidden cash, gold, silver, please call to discuss options. I’m also willing to help law enforcement with evidence recovery. It is important to have a general idea where the item was lost, and the location must be searchable with a metal detector.
Search Locations
Lake Geneva, WI, and surrounding communities. Contact me if you are outside my area to discuss travel.
Seth Tost's Bio
I’ve always loved a good treasure hunt, whether it is an organized scavenger hunt or helping a friend or neighbor find something lost. I’ve been metal detecting for five years in fields, lawns, woods, beaches, and underwater while diving. As an elementary school teacher, I have freedom on weekends and summers to help others find lost items. When I’m not swinging for lost treasure, I can be found drumming at my church, playing guitar, writing, hiking or reading to my kids. I’d love to help you, so don’t hesitate to call, day or night.

Lost Wedding Ring Found at Lake Geneva’s Riviera Beach (2024)
Sour Summer Turns Sweet Wednesday, May 29, 2024 I was settling into a normal Wednesday evening routine of doing the dinner dishes, getting the kids ready for bed, and bedtime reading when a fellow detectorist from Madison texted me and asked if I was up for a hunt. An all too common tale…a young […]

Lost Keys Found in Snow – Pell Lake, WI (2024)
On January 12, 2024, a severe winter storm was sweeping its way across southern Wisconsin. It dumped around 13 inches of heavy, wet snow and shut down schools and businesses. Bill, like most Wisconsinites, was clearing his driveway and unfortunately lost his set of keys in the process. This was not a usual set of […]

Lost Apple Watches found in Lake Geneva (2022)
Treasure Hunters Anyone can be a treasure hunter. Treasure hunting does not require owning a metal detector. It starts with simply getting outside and looking around. Surface finds, items literally laying on the surface that anyone could see, are everywhere. I found $30 walking into a Cracker Barrel restaurant, a $100 bill in a Walmart […]

Wedding Ring Found in Twin Lakes, WI (2022)
Miracle Recovery Although I’ve found 60+ rings over the course of my metal detecting “career,” I would call none of them miracles… until last night. Shane called me around 4:30 pm Saturday, July 30, 2022. I had just finished a 7 mile hike along Geneva Lake’s beautiful lake path with my family. Shane was paddle […]

Lost Cell Phone, Lake Geneva, WI (2022)
I’m an elementary school teacher. It’s a great profession, but comes with stresses that I’d rather not bring home to my family. It was a Tuesday afternoon in April. School dismissed, and I decided some detecting time at my local beach might help me clear my head before heading into the evening with my wife […]
