Archery arrow recovered in Shenandoah, Virginia

While Li and his family were staying at a nice secluded vacation rental along the Shenandoah river, he was enjoying his archery hobby in the yard when he lost one of his arrows. Arrows that miss or deflect off the edge of a target can easily bury themselves below the surface of the lawn. Li did not want to take a chance of anyone getting hurt in the future, so he contacted me to see if I could help find it.  I was able to meet him the following morning. He showed me the search area and one of his other arrows so I could see what they look like and run my detector over it to identify the signal I would be listening for. After searching for a while, I found an arrow a couple of inches deep, but it was not one of his. It seems Li was not the first person shooting in this yard. A few minutes later I found his arrow also hiding a couple inches below the grass. I’m really glad I could help with this recovery and that this nice family could enjoy the rest of the trip without worrying.
