Lost earring found with a metal detector in Lowell

  • from Marietta (Ohio, United States)

This person lost a very sentimental and very tiny diamond earring but did EVERYTHING right for me to find it!!

If you ever lose a piece of small jewelry, these are the things to do. Read her story to see what she did. She made it a lot easier to find a really hard target that 90% of metal detectors would not even pick up!!

Here’s her story.

As the sun was setting in the last heat wave,  I was working to cover my blackberries from the birds.   As I adjusted the roofing net, I felt it snag on my earring.  I reached up and grabbed it as fast as I could but all I caught was the back.  My 25 years old earrings- earring purchased to celebrate my child being born- were missing.  I have never taken them out for more then a few minutes a few times in 25 years.  I just stood there looking down in the blackberry patch. After about 20 minutes,  I sat down overwhelmed by weeds and devastated that I couldn’t find it.  I had a red zip tie in my pocket that I slid into place where my left foot was for a reference point for my search and I had someone bring a pair of scissors out to me.  The weeds were all between waist and armpit high,  in blackberries.  Over many hours the next 4 days, I cut every blade of grass, every weed and carefully navigated all the spiders (which I’m allergic to.) I had cleared a spot about 4 foot by 3 foot down to the dirt and everything I cut out was carefully laid on top of a trash bag.  I wouldn’t let anyone else inside or let them move the netting.  Nothing was moved in any way or thrown away and still I couldn’t find my earring.  Not sure where to turn next, I asked my friends on Facebook and immediately I had 2 people respond « Steve Wagner! » I sent him a friend request and a message.  His response?  Call me.  I did and explained what I lost and more about the situation.  I was losing hope but he said he would be there in a few minutes to see what he could do.

I had the matching earring to it with me so he could get the readings from it.   After he tuned in his detector the way he wanted it and entered the berry patch, he picked up something within seconds- literally.  It took a little longer to find it because it was hidden in a grass root clump. Plus, all this happened while it was raining! I couldn’t believe it.   I’m so incredibly grateful for him responding and finding my lost treasure.   They’re so special to me.  Thank you!Lost jewelry ear ring necklace meta detector rental Ohio Marietta
