Item recovered February 18, 2025.
On a beautiful afternoon in February, Katie was enjoying the day with friends on her dock.
She took off her rings for a moment and accidently dropped them! The wedding band landed on the dock but the diamond engagement ring fell between the boards into the water below!
Due to the timing of the tide, I arranged a time the following morning at 7:00 am to search below the dock at low tide.
I climbed down the ladder and started detecting the area. The bottom was covered in oyster shells and it was difficult to get good footing. I slowly worked my way under the dock to the area where the ring was lost.
I started a visual inspection of the area beneath the dock in the event the ring landed on any of the supports. I then began detecting the area and heard a very faint signal next to the wood post. I did my best digging into the shells and after the second scoop, I felt as though I had retrieved the item.
I slowly started picking out the shells when a bright sparkle caught my eye. The ring was in the scoop!
