14k ROSE GOLD WEDDING BAND LOST IN ROADSIDE DITCH In SUNDRIGE, ONTARIO

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

Nolan was working in Sunridge, Ontario staking out a utility vault in a ditch at the side of a roadway. He was brushing away his pants with wet hands when he noticed out of the corner of his eye his wedding band fly off.

Nolan’s 14 karat wedding band was custom designed by his Wife with a centre ruby in between two amethyst gemstones to match her engagement ring.

We agreed to meet this weekend very early morning as the Ontario Highway 400 northbound cottage traffic can be crazy.

With a strict grid search using my Minelab Equinox 800 metal detector and small stock coil I was able to locate Nolan’s wedding band in 2 1/2 minutes!

Check out the video;

A very happy young couple and another donation grateful received came into the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation!! Nolan received a tax receipt for his donation amount! #payingitforward!

University of Toronto Master of Laws Graduate loses Family Heirloom Gold ring

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

I received a phone call from Jessica who was heartbroken as she lost a very sentimental Family heirloom pure gold ring that was made in Shanghai. Jessica graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Laws degree just two weeks ago! She wore her ring for her graduate photos. The wind caught Jessica’s graduation cap. Jessica quickly reached for the cap and felt her loose ring fly off her hand. The Family searched the area for some time with no luck. Even some of the University staff helped to look for her ring.

Jessica then obtained permission from the University of Toronto staff to allow a metal detectorist from ‘The Ring Finders’ directory to assist! I alway respect private property and am grateful to be granted permission to detect and help recover Jessica’s special ring! I would love to have permission to go back to recover & donate all the lost relics/history still in the ground! Saving history from generations ago! Who knows, there could be more lost U of T alumni rings!

I had many memories flooding back just driving down to the location! I even shed a few tears. You see, my late Father WO George Walker worked for Toronto Hydro for 40 years! As well, my Father was a well know bagpiper for the 48th Highlanders of Canada for over 50 years! He piped many weddings at Hart House and well as graduations ceremonies at the University of Toronto and York University! Happy proud tears for sure!

Check out the video of the ring return surprise! Great deal of thanks also to the Campus Police Officer Matthew for going along with the prank surprise as Jessica had left the location for a quick coffee!

This unique pure gold ring is not like any normal ring as it is a wrap-around ring with no connecting loop! Jesica and I thought the ring was 14k but it turns out the inside symbols represents the makers mark, a karat stamp referring to 99 pure gold and the number 14 which refers to ring size 14! Who knew!

Thank you Jessica for your generous donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation and entrusting me to help recover and return your priceless Family Heirloom graduation gift from your beloved Grandmother!! Happy, healthy, bright and safe future ahead and many years to come!!

Young Newly Engaged Couple lose Heirloom 18k Engagement Ring in the waters of Gulliver’s Lake, Hamilton ON 🇨🇦

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

Received a phone call from newly engaged Crystal inquiring about the recovery process of her recently lost 62 year old Heirloom 18k white gold with diamonds that belonged to her late Grandmother in the water at Gulliver’s Lake in Millgrove, Hamilton, Ontario! A popular RV camp ground, water activities, swimmers, beach goers and scuba divers with no motorized boating allowed!

Crystal advised her Fiancé Garrett of what we discussed but Garrett wanted desperately to find the ring himself due to his fun play of throwing his Fiancé into the water. He purchased a detector and wrapped it in plastic. They searched for hours with no luck and decided to call me back and book me for Sunday morning!

With permission granted from the Manager Debbie I arrived to meet them onsite 10am Sunday.

Unfortunately, Crystal felt her engagement ring fly off. They had a 10′ by 10′ exact area but us detectorists know how  trajectory and ring weight can play an important role to determine its path!

With a silty bottom and not too bad visibility I decided an underwater circular grid would be best at 6″ to 8″ depth with my scuba gear, 2 fiberglass poles, high viz yellow line and my Minelab excalibur2 with short dive shaft was set!

I set it up with Garrett that we were going to surprised Crystal as I felt strongly this wouldn’t take long in which it was amazing it took 25 seconds after my initial set up!!! A PERSONAL RECORD FOR ME!!

Check out my YouTube video and surprise!!!

Well, we definitely surprised Crystal to say the least…. BEEP……BEEP and Garrett and Crystal’s Father a sign of relief!!

Happy to help this young couple out on retrieving her beloved late Grandmother’s Engagement ring that meant the world to them and the Family!!

Thank you Garrett for his donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation in my « PAY-IT-FORWARD CAMPAIGN »!! Using my passion for metal/scuba dive detecting to raise much needed funds to breast cancer Patients! Instead of my receiving a « reward » for finding the clients item, I insist the clients makes a donation to my Charity that I’ve Snowmobiles/Volunteered with TGE last 11 of 20 years bow onto Year #12!! Garrett will receive a tax receipt for his donation!! 🌸💖🌸

14k WHITE GOLD/DIAMOND ENCRUSTED ENGAGEMENT RING LOST AT LARGE SPORTS COMPLEX Ancaster, Ontario

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

Received a Facebook message from a long time Girlfriend Tracey F’s Daughter Senna that her engagement ring was lost at a large baseball complex in Ancaster, Ontario! OMG she was devastated to say the least!!!

Senna is a Fastball star Pitcher for the Port Perry Angels and was in a tournament that day. She had taken off her engagement ring and had placed it in her jacket pocket. Seena’s Fiancé Matthew had even went out and purchased 2 metal detectors from the local Canadian Tire. They searched for 7-8 hours prior to calling me. Her baseball team, Family, Friends and Fans were also searching between games with brooms and rakes. Senna missed her last because she was so distraught!

I arrived after 7pm. I discussed with Senna, Matthew and Tracey to retrace her steps on the field area, dugout, grass and sheltered areas. I started on the infield down the first base side where she had warmed up pitching. I then moved into the dugout area. This is where Senna had her baseball bag and dropped her jacket down to warm up. I had a very low tone VDI 5 on the Minelab Equinox 800. It was 1″-2″ down. I had told Tracey a key world phrase « can you get me some water » which really meant « I FOUND THE RING »!! Then the surprise video/return…..

Here’s the video on the SURPRISE recovery & return!!

I just LOVE it when the SHRIEK & TEARS of shear disbelief & joy happens on the return!! #priceless

I was very grateful to Matthew as he donated one if the junior detectors to my upcoming ‘ Pink Power Ally Kids Treasure Hunter Club’!! He also made a Charity donation to the « Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation »!! #PAYITFORWARD

LOST SENTIMENTAL 925 SILVER RING IN BRAMPTON, ON PARK GRASS

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

I received a phone call from Sam from Brampton, Ontario as he lost a very sentimental 925 silver ring recently.

Sam was walking his two dogs in a City of Brampton park. He ran with the dogs when the leashes crossed and came to a stop 40’ away! He realized he had lost his cell phone and his silver ring!

Sam luckily found his cell phone that night but not his ring. Sam then rented a metal detector which sounded like they gave him a locates machine. He then turned to YouTube to find one of my ring recovery videos but also a former member of “The Ring Finders” ‘Mark’ suggested he look up “The Ring Finders” to find a dedicated detectorist close to his location to aid in the search!

I advise Mark my fee and my “Pay-It-Forward” program that when I find his ring he is to in-turn make an on-line charity donation towards the “Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation”

We searched through the long knee deep grass with no success for 1 hour & 40 minutes. After 20 minutes I decided to switch my medium sized coil on the MINELAB Equinox 800 to the small coil! Continued to search and go over the initial search areas! No luck! I then went over the first area search  but expanded towards the path and BOOM!!!! FOUND IT!! Saw the silver and started the video…. check it out!! He’s making a DONATION!!!

https://youtu.be/

I ….NEVER…. like giving up and offered to come back throughout the week once the grass was cut!! But we had FAITH!!

NOTHING BEATS THE SHEAR EXCITEMENT & AMAZEMENT IN THE CLIENTS REACTION!!!

LOST TRUCK/TRACTOR KEYS CUTTING GRASS! Erin, ON

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

Erin, Ontario, Canada

Received a text message from Ron from Erin that another incredible « The Ring Finders » team Steve Zmd recommended me to assist in finding lost truck & tractor keys in my own town!!

Ron was on his lawn tractor cutting 2 acres of grass. He was rushing to finish the grass before dark. After he finished cutting the grass he reached into his pocket and his truck & tractor keys where gone. He searched his property and could not locate them. Lucky he had a back up set of keys to his truck.

I decided to grid the outer portions of the 2 acres using my Minelab Excalibur 2 on ‘pinpoint/all metal mode’. With-in 40 minutes and many darn mosquito bites….I LOCATED THEM!!

He’s one happy camper as it’s pricey to purchase a new set of keys!! Thank you Steve Zmd for the recommendation AGAIN XO

Here’s a link to the video!!

The Ring Finder’s ALISON WALKER wins the « Kelly Shires Award » 2018

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

For the last 11 years I have been a participant in the « Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation Snow Run ». February 4th, 2018 was the 19th Annual Snow Run event. Woman only snowmobiling ride raising much needed donations for this amazing Charity.

You see…here’s a little bit about the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation….

The Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation was established to help women/men who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. There are many unforeseen expenses they may face, and which their health insurance program may not cover.

Our policy and application for financial assistance can be found under the heading « Need Financial Assistance ». Please feel free to contact us with any questions at info@breastcancersnowrun.org

I try my very best….but in 2017 and 2018 I resorted to my metal detecting skills and decided that through my « The Ring Finders » call outs….I’ll use my PASSION & SKILLS for metal detecting and make my « CLIENTS » …PAY-IT-FORWARD!! I ask for my call-out feed to cover my fuel and a meal…then when I recover the clients lost item…I ask them to « PAY-IT-FORWARD » by making a donation through my fundraising page to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation.

I really was blown away as you see my this video (as I was doing a live broadcast) that I won this incredible « Kelly Shires Award » for the most INNOVATED WAY OF RAISING DONATIONS FOR THIS CHARITY!!! Out of the $3,600 donations (my highest amount fund raising in the last 11 years participation) I RAISED $2,600 DIRECTLY THROUGH MY RING FINDERS CLIENTS!!! S-T-O-K-E-D & HONOURED I WAS!! In 2017 I raised $1,850 dollars metal detecting.

Here is the link to the video for the award! I was truly in shock but very honoured;

So…I am heading into my 11th year in participating at the 20th annual KELLY SHIRES BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION!! and again…will be insisting my RING FINDER CLIENTS to « PAY-IT-FORWARD »!!

Lost Wedding Band while playing Volleyball~Brampton, Ontario

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

I received a phone call while nearing the end of my Summer Vacation week when I received a phone call from Himanshu. He was playing volleyball at the private compound of President’s Choice HQ in Brampton, Ontario. They had weekly volleyball matches. One of his team mates had said « you should take your ring off in case you lose it »…..

He was practicing prior to the match and sure enough…he lost it. I arrived a few hours prior to the start of the first match. Started a grid pattern from the serving line. One half of the court completed…no ring. Lots of clad coins and sharp thin copper wire pieces. Started on the other side of the court…3rd pass and BAAM…there was his 21k Platinum wedding band. Very special to him as it was India gold. We managed to capture the recovery on video!

One happy camper!!!

Himanshu was kind enough to make a donation to my charity « Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation » in which I am sledding in my 9th consecutive year raising donations for men & woman fighting breast cancer!! « PAYING IT FORWARD »…awesome, everyone WINS!!
