Josh and his brother Luke were down from Canada to visit their cousins. They decided to visit Clearwater Beach, and after a round of football in the water, Josh realized that his custom-made class ring was no longer on his finger! He went to talk to the lifeguard, who provided him with the contact info for the Suncoast Research and Recovery Club, SRARC.com. While Josh kept a close eye on the area of the suspected loss, Bill Gallant and Mike Shuler loaded up and rushed to Clearwater Beach. They met up with Josh, who directed the hunters into the water, which was now shoulder-deep because of the incoming tide. Within 15 minutes, Josh was looking into the sand scoop at the ring he admitted he had very little hope of seeing again! This was the last day of Josh’s visit, so we’re glad SRARC could help him enjoy the rest of his time here, and return home with the ring that means so much to him!

After spilling a drink on his hands, they became sticky and sand got under his wedding band. He removed it to wash his hands and didn’t realize until much later that he no longer had the ring with him! After returning to the site and raking through the sand with no luck, he turned to the internet to look into renting a metal detector. While he was searching, he discovered SRARC. He got in touch with club president Howard Metts, who put out a notice to the club’s Ringfinder members. Rob Clarke and Mike Shuler arranged to meet Bill at the spot where he remembered setting down his ring. Rob and Mike started gridding the area, and in less than 10 minutes, Bill was reunited with his ring!

Don and his wife were vacationing on Clearwater Beach when Don realized his wedding ring was missing. He had been in the water but may have lost it on the beach while in the dry sand. They were given our SRARC Ringfinder info from the Life Guard on duty and contacted Howard Metts several days latter. A hunt was scheduled with Rob Clarke, Howard Metts, Joe Montione, Pat Montione, and Ed Osmar responding. They hunted the dry sand for an hour with no luck. The team hunted the water for another hour before Howard came up with the ring. Howard mailed the ring to Seattle Washington and Don sent back a photo with the ring back on his finger again. Great job team!

Dylan was standing in the water at Indian Shores Beach throwing the football when his white gold wedding band came off his finger. The search that followed proved unproductive, and an internet search led Dylan to Ringfinders. He contacted SRARC vice president Joe Szemer, who put out a notice about the loss. Bill Gallant and Mike Shuler responded and met Dylan at the site. Dylan stayed as long as he could, but eventually had to leave to meet family in Clearwater. After two hours of unsuccessful hunting, Bill and Mike were getting concerned. They decided to go outside the boundaries of the search zone, and within a few minutes, the ring was found! They contacted Dylan, who rushed back to the beach with Nicole to meet Bill and Mike in the parking lot! The photo shows how excited this wonderful couple was to have their sentimental item back! Since he had to return to Denver the next day, SRARC is especially glad that Dylan could relax and enjoy the last day of his Florida vacation!

While washing the sand off her feet before leaving she noticed the ring was no longer in her pocket. She called her friend Austin a fireman with Clearwater who contacted Howard Metts. A hunt was set for the next day with Rob Clarke, Dimitur Alipiev, Ed Osmar, Gary Leyland, and Howard Metts attending. Annie was showing us where she sat on the sand when Gary looked down and saw something shiny. He turned his machine on to verify it was metal and produced the ring, most of us never had a chance to turn on our machines! A quick hunt with a very happy ending and a very thankful Annie. His wife who was in the sailboat heard a small splash and Mike realized he had slid his gold anniversary ring off his finger into the water. They found our SRARC Ring Finders website and contacted Howard Metts. Howard and his wife Jeanine came out two days later with their hookah dive rig to search for the ring in 10-11 feet of water. With zero visibility and 4 inches of silt on the bottom, Howard came up with the ring using his hand held metal detector. Mike and his wife Joselyn were amazed to see the ring again!

If you have lost your ring or any other precious item, “Don’t Wait – Call Now.” Evan was tossing the football while standing in waist-deep water at Honeymoon Island Beach. He went to twist his wedding band between his fingers, which he has a habit of doing, and discovered the band was not there! Evan did his best to find the ring, but his efforts fell flat. A couple of weeks later, Evan learned about SRARC and the Ringfinders. He contacted club president Howard Metts, and a hunt was set up. Evan watched as Howard, Dimitur Alipiev and Ed Osmar gridded the area with their detectors while getting pounded by the high tide and big waves. The first attempt was not successful, so Howard scheduled a second hunt after the surf calmed down and the tide was low. Once again Evan was there for moral support. This time Howard was joined by Mike Shuler. The two worked carefully around the big rocks that covered the area and after a little over an hour, Mike had the ring in his scoop! Evan was ecstatic to have his sentimental ring back, and immediately contacted his wife to share the good news!

Michael and his friends, Fonzie and Caden, were throwing the ball in waist-deep water at Clearwater Beach. Michael was wearing a gold cross on a chain which was handed down to him by his father, who had received it when he was 16 years old. The chain came off, and as it fell, Fonzie managed to catch it, but the cross fell into the water. All three boys searched until dark, but were unable to locate the heirloom cross. Caden’s parents knew Mike and Mary Shuler were metal detectorists and told them about the situation. Mike responded to the site with fellow detectorist Ed Osmar, but the cross was not found. Mike decided to wait until the evening low tide and invite more help. That’s when Mike Miller, Howard Metts, Bill Gallant, and Mike’s wife, Mary, joined the hunt. After two hours of hunting in the rough water, Mike Miller came up with the cross! We’re very glad that Michael is reunited with this beautiful family heirloom!
