Bob was down from Virginia in Lakewood Ranch visiting with his daughter, her husband, and his grandchildren and to help with the hurricane Ian cleanup in their yard. Before going to work he wrapped his two rings in his handkerchief so they would not be lost. Sometime during the work process he pulled the handkerchief from his pocket to blow his nose. His rings went flying away and were lost out in the grass. The family searched in the general area for over an hour but could never find them. Bob returned to Virginia and some time later found the SRARC ring finders and contacted Joe Szemer. Joe contacted Mike Miller and arrangements were made for Mike to do a search in the area where the rings were lost. Mike searched for about an hour before he got the hit and found the two rings side by side under the grass. When Bob heard from his daughter both rings had been found he was all smiles. Always a pleasure for us at SRARC to see the smiles when lost items are returned.

Juan was visiting Anna Maria Island with his Mom, Dad, and Brother for the day from Orlando. He is a social media influencer under the name Lejuan James and wanted to produce a skit about sharks and the warnings his mother gave him as a child. He got into a shark outfit and started running in the shallow water away from his brother whom caught him and tackled him. As soon as he hit the water he felt his wedding ring come off. They all searched for a while but found nothing. Juan called his wife, Camella, and she soon found SRARC ring finders on the internet. She called Howard who put out a call. Mike Miller responded and soon headed to the island to meet Juan. After searching for about an hour, an afternoon lighting storm appeared and the search was ended. Juan and family headed back to Orlando with an assurance from Mike he would return to hunt the next day. The next day after about 20 minutes Mike found the ring. He contacted Juan and let him know the ring had been recovered. Juan packed up his wife and child and met Mike at his house where the ring was returned among lots of smiles. Always a pleasure to put such big smiles on peoples faces. The short video is what was being filmed when he lost the ring.

Had a really cool recovery today. Vic contacted me about his mother losing her wedding band that she has had for 56 years. She recently recovered from cancer and had lost a lot of weight and it slipped right off. She didn’t know if it was in the dry sand or when she was looking for shells in the surf. Took me about two hours of searching I had to wait for some people to move and when they did I searched their area and it was in the sand that they were using to weigh down their tent. Needless to say it’s always great to give it back and she was over the moon. They are leaving tomorrow for Azerbaijan.

Naomi and her husband and their two children were vacationing from Huston, Texas with other family members in Riverside. They all went to the beach on Anna Maria Island for some fun in the sun and gulf waters. They set up camp with a canopy and chairs and went about enjoying the day. At some point Naomi was in the water and could feel that her beautiful wedding ring was to loose and asked her husband to go put her rings into the beach bag under the canopy. He did as she asked except he put the rings onto a chair cup holder instead of the bag. When it came time to leave they picked up the chairs and the rings flew into the sand. Naomi’s brother spotted one of the rings but after continuing to search the wedding ring could not be found. After arriving home that evening Naomi’s grandfather found the SRARC ring finders on the internet. They contacted Howard Metts and he put out a request for hunters. Mike Miller responded and was soon on the hunt. After about 30 minutes the ring was recovered. Naomi was already in Orlando to catch a flight home so she asked her sister to meet Mike and the ring was put into her hands for the safe return to Naomi. SRARC is happy to have been able to bring another happy ending to a vacation in Florida.

Margi was out bird watching and had returned home when she discovered she had lost one of her favorite earrings. She searched everywhere around the house and even retraced about a mile of her birding steps but could not find it. She had contacted SRARC previously for a lost earring so called them again. Arrangements were made and Mike Miller arrived to begin a search. Margi explained where she had walked and Mike developed a search plan and had searched about 40 feet when he got his first signal. He grabbed his pin pointer and discovered it was not working. He showed Margi where the target was ad then returned to his truck to get a different pin pointer. Before he could return to the site of the target Margi came walking out with the earring in her hand and a big smile on her face. No doubt we made a great team.

Kara was in town from Texas to help out her parents through some medical issues. They went to Siesta Key Beach to enjoy the warm weather for a few hours. Kara removed her wedding ring to apply sunscreen and promptly forgot she had set it in her lap. She stood up, walked around and then to the water’s edge. After returning to her chair she remembered her ring and searched but could not find it. She found the SRARC ring finders on line and soon had Mike Miller headed to meet her at the beach. She lead Mike right to the spot where they had been sitting and after about three swings of the coil up came the ring. She will be smiling all the way back to Texas and SRARC will be smiling with her.

Joe and Judy were down from Nashville, Tennessee spending the winter months at their condo on Siesta Key. As thy were putting away their boat on the lift, Joe leaned over the side and his I-phone slipped out of his pocket and into the sludge at the bottom of the dock. As the news spread at the condo one of their neighbors, who had called SRARC for a lost ring which Mike had recovered in the previous year, told them about our recovery service and they soon found us on the internet. Joe Szemer sent Mike Miller the contact information and he next morning at low tide Mike began the hunt in neck deep water and foot deep bottom muck. After about 15 minutes Mike hit a target but could not retrieve it in his scoop. Changing tactic’s he began pushing his coil under the target and moving it toward the bulk head and shallower water. After several attempts the target stayed on the coil and up came the I-phone. The amazing part is that after 3 days and nights under 6 to 8 feet of salt water all they had to do is clean it up, charge it and it turned right on as if it had never been under water.

Jeff took his family to the ballpark in Sarasota to watch his son play baseball. There was a group so he brought chairs and the canopy to protect them from the sun. As she unloaded and set up the equipment he saw his wedding ring fall off and immediately picked it up and put it back on. After the ball game was over he packed everything up and as he was preparing to leave noticed he no longer had his wedding ring. The family all searched but with no luck and Jeff finally contacted the ballpark manager so he could check the lost and found. Manager was aware that SRARC had previously recovered a ring for someone else and gave Jeff our information. Howard Mets posted a call out and Mike Miller responded. Mike met Jeff the following morning at 10:00 AM and searched the area where the ring had possibly been lost. After about 45 minutes Mike got the good tone and uncovered the missing ring. Jeff was overjoyed to have his ring returned and SRARC is ever so happy to have helped someone out once again.

Anne’s father was the captain of a submarine during world war II and while stationed in Australia had found a beautiful sapphire stone which he purchased for his wife. Later, while back on duty one night when he surfaced the submarine to recharge the batteries the crew discovered a pilot who had been shot down and rescued him. A few weeks later when the airman departed the submarine for Pearl Harbor Ann’s father gave him the sapphire with a note of love for his wife and asked him to send it to her just in case he never returned from the war. He did return home safely at the end of the war and at that time he took the diamond from Ann’s mother’s engagement ring and together with another purchased diamond he created a new wedding ring including the sapphire from Australia. Ann inherited her mother’s ring 20 years ago and had worn it ever since. While visiting from Rhode Island she and her son, John and daughter-in-law, Simone went to Siesta key beach to enjoy a sunny warm day. While sitting in the sand Anne took the precious wedding ring off, set it on the chair arm to put suntan lotion on her hands and promptly forgot about it. They packed up and went home none the wiser and a few days later she realized the ring was missing. After checking everywhere at their house and in the car she recalled taking it off at the beach. Simone searched the Internet and discovered SRARC ring finders. She made a call to Howard Metz and Howard contacted Mike Miller and arrangements were made to meet the next morning in hopes of finding the ring. Ann and John identified an area of about 100 square feet and Mike went to work. About an hour later Mike got a sweet tone and up came the ring. Needless to say Ann was overjoyed to have such a precious ring returned after believing it was lost forever.

Jessica and family were up from Venice, Fl to visit with her sister Laura and family living on Anna Maria Island. Laura and her family will soon be leaving for an extended trip to France so on Sunday afternoon both family’s headed to down the block to the beach to enjoy some time on the sand and playing in the Gulf. Jessica took both her engagement and wedding ring off and stored them safely in her shorts pocket. At some point in the afternoon, Jessica and Laura decided to play teenage girls again and started doing cartwheels up and down the beach. As evening approached they all packed up and headed for home. As they walked off the Beach Jessica reached into her pocket to get her rings and terror struck her heart. Nothing was in her pocket. They all returned to the beach and searched but soon realized it was fruitless since they didn’t have any real idea when the rings had been lost. Jessica’s husband googled lost and found Anna Maria Island and the SRARC ring finders popped up. Jessica was soon in touch with Joe Szemer who contacted Mike Miller. Mike made arrangements to meet with Laura the next morning to do the hunt. Laura staked out the area where they had been and Mike went to work. After about 45 minutes Mike got a hit and took a scoop of sand and dumped it out of the scoop. Right away he saw a shiny white gold object reflected in the sun. He motioned Laura over and pointed. Laura excitedly kneeled down and recovered the engagement ring. She then looked up at Mike and said “ There is another ring”. Mike took a swing over the same sand pile and then pinpointed the spot for her. She reached into the sand and up came the wedding ring. She couldn’t believe we had found them and instantly called her sister with the great news. Jessica was already in route from Venice in hopes the rings would be found and began crying as she received the good news. Mike was invited in for coffee while we waited for Jessica to arrive. After she arrived and the rings had been returned we all sat around the table and had a great conversation about their whole families adventures in moving from France to the USA. I want to welcome them all to the USA and thank them for their kind treatment of me. Most of all I loved to see the BIG SMILES on their faces as we parted ways.
