Here’s another successful recovery during the summer of 2025. A call for help came just before sundown,,fortunately I reside nearby & was there quickly. Soon after scanning the small dry sand area where she witnessed it disappear a signal beeped on my metal detector then her ring magically reappeared back in her hand. She was thrilled & thankful I could help find what could have been lost forever.

Here’s another successful recovery at Del Mar beach during the summer of 2025. A business party was taking place there when a special Gold nugget ring was lost in the dry sand. She sent me the location in plea for help so I headed there immediately. This is a beach too many novel detector hobbyists frequent. This call for help came during the peak of summer in 2025 when asked if I could recover a wedding ring lost in the shallow surf at Solana beach San Diego. Though it was a hot crowded day there and the tides were not very low I decided to go immediately & detect as much as I could in the pounding shore break along the steep slope.
After over an hour of searching I was not able to find his lost ring. While texting back & forth with the wife to make sure I was in the correct area as described,,I chose to scan just a further south with my Metal detector while waiting for a reply.
Suddenly a few minutes into it I get a sound on my Metal detector similar to platinum or Gold at the bottom of the slope. This is what I call the hungry part of the beach that will eat jewelry & occasionally regurgitate them as well.
Focus & speed is needed to recover this target as they can disappear while digging for ‘em’. With waves crashing on the shoreline, beach goers surrounding within feet of me, Timing will be keene so I patiently waited the intervals then charged back down the slope,,stuck my scoop in the sand just once where I heard that signal and ran back up the slope before the next wave broke.
Exhausted from the heat and being asked if I found anything good 5 times in a row…????? I begged King Neptune the Sea God for this to be the Ring I was looking for saying “Please please please” while shaking sand out of my scoop that’s when suddenly his bright Platinum Cartier ring magically shined in the sun!
They were very grateful & amazed I could help find their precious wedding they thought may of been gone forever.

This call for help came late at night during the summer of 2025 A reward was offered & I was on my way…Being a local here in North county the beaches are a short trip as I was there quickly scanning the area before he arrived.

Here’s another story of a lost custom made wedding ring recovery at Oceanside beach San Diego California. On August 3rd 2025 Ian was wading in the shallow surf water near the pier when he noticed his ring missing. Later that day he commented on Reddit what had happened then along came suggestions from users including contacting myself on The ring finders to help find his ring.

Recently another text for help to find a lost wedding band buried in the sand beeped on my cell phone after 9pm… This day & age it’s best for me to search the area immediately due to an influx of newbie hobby detectorist’s scanning all hours of the day & night. Typically rings lost in the San Diego beach sands last 0-2 days in the summer before it is found & gone forever. That is why contacting me immediately increases the chance of finding your precious jewelry before them.
However, This small beach named Seaside reef located in Cardiff San Diego county has a gated entrance not open after sunset. So after some questions & concerns we agreed to meet there in the morning just after the parking lot opened up.
Promptly arriving with my metal detector equipment as planned,Sammy text me she was running 10 min behind with a description of the exact place to search until she got there.
As I was patiently preparing with plenty of time to kill,,I looked 30’ across in the parking lot to my amazement another person was gearing up with his metal detector to search this same small beach!
So I darted over to stake the claim on a 10×10’ small area,,Kindly leaving him with the entire rest of the beach & trash buried there..Is when this lost wedding band was saved from the sands in a matter of a few precious minutes! She was so relieved as you can see this wedding ring with inscriptions meant a whole lot to them.
