I understand that sometimes people insist on giving something to me personally and in those circumstances I have previously accepted gifts of cake, beer, wine and vouchers for local restaurants.

I have been detecting since 2018, mainly searching for relics from Jersey's rich military history. As a spin-off I enjoy helping people by searching for their lost rings, either on the beach, in gardens, or in other island locations.

It felt great to get Francois’ ring back to him as it has been passed down to him by his grandfather and father.

Lost Engagement Ring found in Jersey, Channel Islands (2022)
Visiting Jersey from Scotland, Barbara lost her engagement ring in the surf. She left the island yesterday, but after four hours of searching I found her ring and gave it to the couple who were her hosts. They will take it to her in a few weeks.

A gift from his parents on his 18th birthday, I’m pleased I could return Fraser’s ring to him today.

A Couple’s Wedding Rings (2022)
Having watched Chris’ videos, I know that rings thrown during an argument is not an uncommon scenario. Both recovered today from a field. He has a good throw! 🙂

Palladium Wedding Band (2022)
Paul lost his palladium wedding band while swimming at the beach. The recovery took 8½ hours spread over three sessions, but I found it 🙂
